Summary: Not fond of love triangles, but I liked this.
Review: Another book I enjoyed from Ms. Brown. Once again she illustrates the 'separation and reunion' theme which she excels in. I like how long the beginning part of the story was and how she showed many details of Kathleen and Erik's former relationship at camp before his accident. Their past really convinced me that they were meant to be together and I couldn't begrudge their 'affair' since it was all so unfair for them. But everything went well; even Seth was an angel. He was too kind and very understanding of the couple's situation (as I was)- it was all too unfair for them that I couldn't begrudge their 'affair'.
The pacing of the book was also very well written. A lot of time was equally devoted to not just the beginning, but the middle and end of the book that there's no way I could find the romance rushed in any way.
I originally didn't think I'd like The Silken Web because it had adultary... and a blonde hero. But Erik was as appealing as any other dark hero (with the qualities to match) and the way everything was handled makes me want to go and buy more of Sandra's books.
If you liked The Silken Web, try Bittersweet Rain. It was a shorter read, similar but fun as always.

Summary: Boring
Review: Based on those 5 star reviews, I bought the book, and I was SO disappointed! I could have lived with the incredibly beautiful but annoyingly naive heroine and her great fashion sense - she is obviously an "autumn" who would look rather yellow-complexioned in electric blue, which moreover doesn't do anything for green eyes, contrary to what we read on page 199. Anyway, that misunderstanding - without which the story would have been about half as long - was just too contrived. I don't know why I even bothered to finish reading the book. Definitely not a highlight in the Sandra Brown collection - I'd choose "Led astray" over this one any day.

Summary: Another sexy fiction
Review: Full of body tingling action. Enough body works to keep you interested, as if the problems of revenge aren't enough to keep to enchanted with this book.

Summary: A+!
Review: I dont understand how anyone could not like this book. This was the first Sandra Brown book that I had read and I couldnt stop telling everybody how great it was (and is). Unlike many other books, this book does not give away the ending. As for the reviewers that had a problem with the adultery in this book, I say to them, this book is about reality, not the traditional american dream way of living, and thats what makes this book so great. If you cant handle a book that gives a challenge, then you are missing out on alot.

Summary: A nice love story
Review: I enjoyed this book. If you're looking for a book that is strictly romance, this is a good one. Kathleen and Eric's story is heartbreaking. Circumstances tore them apart and when they found each other again it is impossible to be together. Seth is so sweet in this book I found myself rooting for him a little bit. A great book.

Summary: For the Hopeless Romantic
Review: I have read several Sandra Brown books, this by far was her best. I felt like I was in this relationship. I thought about Erik and his loving worldly ways. I even thought about how he would look and his feelings for Kathleen, loving and strong. I felt for Seth, the husband, who Kathleen adored and cherished but her heart needed and longed for Erik. I didn't feel like it was adultery, I felt as SB said it was, it was love. She was meant to be w/ ERik. Seth was the angel that got them back together. A MUST READ... if you're a hopeless Romantic like me!!!

Summary: Does Fiction Outwin Everything?
Review: I read a number of Sandra Brown's books. They were easy to read, and in general enjoyable. Between the 2 main male characters here, Erik and Seth, I would prefer Seth twice to Erik. Seth was more of a man and knew how to love truly. The attraction between Kathleen and Erik was more on looks, sensuality; well maybe also because he had a way with children and his worldliness due to his job. However, shouldn't this type of attraction be more of a liking, fondness or admiration instead of to the extent of crazy love? Maybe Mr blond was the first man who came on strong to the herione explaining why she equated that to love. Love between a man and a woman should not be just physical but also understanding and going thru' hard and happy times together. Luckily, the heroine got each from a different man.

Things turned out very easy for Kathleen too. She got somebody not just rich but with limitless love to be there to love her in spite of her "situation". When she was all secured and was lavishly loved, the thing she missed appeared. When she battled between morals and desires, her concern and the probable embarassment brought on to her husband as a likely consequence of the Carribean epsiode was taken care of so blamelessly by fate. All these lucky and nice hapennings could only be found in fiction. I just hope Ms Brown would give Seth a different ending. I also hope SB plays a part in advocating safe sex at least in some parts of the story? Storywise, it would avoid unnecessary future embarrassment and hurt to the innocent if he did not end up the way it was ended, and to show the 2 were somewhat responsible and mature adults. As a writer, it is a positive doing to spread as her books reached many readers.

Summary: WHO WOULDN'T WANT TO BE LOVED BY TWO MEN?
Review: I READ THIS BOOK AWHILE BACK AND THE REASON I GIVE THIS BOOK ONLY 3 STARS IS BECAUSE I DONT REMEMBER MUCH OF IT. MOST OF THE BOOKS I READ ARE SO GOOD THAT I REMEMBER THE MAIN PARTS, LIKE WHY KATHLEEN LEFT ERIK. FOR THE LIFE OF ME, I CAN'T REMEMBER. I ALSO DID NOT LIKE THE FACT KATHLEEN WAS CHEATING ON SETH. ALL SETH DID WAS LOVE HER AND TREAT HER WITH RESPECT. ERIK IS OF COURSE A MAN THAT GETS WHAT HE WANTS, INCLUDING THE MARRIED WOMAN.
THE THING THAT I LIKE WAS THE ENDING. SETH WAS SO LOVING THAT HE HELPED KATHLEEN AND ERIK REUNITE THE LOVE THEY HAD FOR EACH OTHER.

Summary: Brown at her best!
Review: If you've liked any of Sandra Brown's romances, you'll love this one! It is by far my favorite. I have read and re-read it and it never ceases to touch my heart. The only bad thing about it was a touch of adultery.... but her husband was "in name only." Sandra Brown writes steamy yet tasteful romances with tasteful covers, good for lunchtime or airplane reading.
