Rating: Summary: A New Year's Gift to oneself and all.... Review: A New Year's Gift to oneself and all....... No one could have written this book except someone from within the "virtual domain," and Dr. Chopra has most certainly given us all the opportunity to merge our religious and spiritual beliefs and questions into a single understanding of God. Years of study alone could not give such joy, such hope, and such promise at a time when so many of us are searching to "find" God. He is truly a great Master here to guide many of us through his spiritual gift of writing. Also recommended: Awakening by Ram Dass and Kryon Books and Marianne Williamson (any) "Return to Love."

Rating: Summary: How Not to Know God Review: What readers should ask themselves is, Is this really the true God that Chopra is describing? How does Chopra know it's the real God? What qualifies Chopra to present this as God and as the way to know God? In this book, Chopra basically presents an esoteric gnosticism bathed in layers of fuzzy mysticism. His God "is in the evil as much as in the good." He also says that evil and good are swallowed up in God eventually. This means that evil and good are not absolute, are a part of each other and are part of God. This is a type of occult worldview and readers should know what they are imbibing. This is not an absolutely good or perfect God, but a sort of neutral power, the same as what we find in the occult. This book is actually how not to know God, or maybe how to know a counterfeit God.
Rating: Summary: Dr. Chopra Is The Greatest Review: Kudos to [those] who have rightly hailed this latest masterpiece of Dr. Chopra's. The good Doctor has been a leader in bringing Eastern ideas on health to skeptical Western audiences. In this book, he accomplishes something vastly more ambitious. With the clarity that distinguishes all of his work, he explains how anyone may come to know the Almighty. His approach is non-denominational throughout, so that all may benefit, be he Jew, Christian, Muslim, Hindu or Buddhist. I would recommend this book for anyone with an interest in the topic. It will make a believer out of you!
Rating: Summary: Take it slowly and only if you're ready for it. Review: ... I'm now part of a group which is actively studying the book a bit at a time and I can't believe all that there is here. The first thing to realize is that Chopra doesn't claim that he's going to present some great Truth to you. You don't get the Truth from a book or another person. You get it from yourself. All that Chopra can do and hopes to do is to so stimulate you to find it yourself. The next thing to realize is that the seven stages that he presents are not necessarily progressive, but merely stages to identify with, presented so that you will recognize what stage you are at so that you will be in a better position to realize how to relate with God at that stage. And then, opening yourself up to what is presented rather than just reading this is important. ... Krishnamurti is one of several writers Chopra suggests that you read, as well as Hawking, Zukav, Yogananda, the Maharishi, Ken Wilber, among others (This is in the notes at the end of the book. Another says there's too much Biblical reference. Most western readers are more familiar with the Bible than with any other writing considered by many to be "sacred". You'll also find many Vedic references here. ... This isn't a book on physics, but on spirituality, so if his physics don't seem right to you, little is missed unless you center on points of disagreement. ... One's mind can accept only a certain amount at a time, and if you overdo what you're taking in, you'll fall asleep or just lose attention. ... It's not necessary to agree on each point Chopra brings up to gain from this book. Heck, it's not even necessary to agree with most of what he says. It is necessary, if you truly wish to gain something useful from this book, to keep your mind open and let him state his case, because there are bound to be elements useful to you among those not so. The bottom line is that the non-resistant reader who takes this book slowly, re-reading when you miss a point, will be stimulated into his own personal search, and this is what Chopra intends. Not to brainwash you. But to get you to search within. If you buy this book and are disappointed in your first reading, then put it aside, but where you'll notice it sometimes, then come back in a week, or a month, or a year, and let the person you've become in that period of time read it.
Rating: Summary: The Proof is in the Puddin Review: I dont understand how anyone could come away from this book feeling anything but awe. The countles "touchy feely" books on god have nothing to do with this groundbreaking work. Truly an innovative and brilliantly depicted method of understanding the process of god, and how that relates to everyday human experience. Deepak obviously doesnt need the cash........With that....I must say Thank You for presenting this information to the public. How to Know God is a Powerful text which Removes the clouded mystery of god and places it where it belongs....at the center of everything...yet...within reach. Bravo Deepak. David Bohm would have been as giddy as a school girl after reading this masterpiece. I pity anyone who can not see thru to the core of what this books says......There is such wisdom here...One reading is Certianly not enough!!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Introduction to the Subject Review: I notice that certain right-wing fundamentalist Christians automatically diss a book by Dr. Chopra or the great Dr. Wayne Dyer without even reading it. The fact of the matter is that this is an excellent introduction to the subject of how to know God. As proof of this fact, I give the following quote: "The most important book about God for our times." Prof. Robert Thurman, Columbia University. I don't think a scholar of Prof. Thurman's caliber would recommend a book if it wasn't up to snuff, do you?
Rating: Summary: How to Know God: The Soul's Journey Review: I found this book to be incredibly boring. I struggled to read it but kept falling asleep with it in my hands dispite the fact it covered a topic I am keenly interested in.
Rating: Summary: Direction without Dogma Review: Somehow, in a logical and spiritual way, Dr. Chopra describes an entire framework of God without any specific religious or denominational approach. It makes perfect sense and rings true within my core, and I know now that there is more than one way to spirituality.

It's the strong faith that keeps the hope to keep one surfing on a sea of storms. Deepak has always been a gifted spiritual trainer and through his books spread the message to attain Spiritual path with faith, facing the grounds of reality. All sort for his blessings and seek favors and protection against danger of life. They pray for courage in hour of conflict, comfort in time of grief, guidance in daily concerns. They release pangs of conscience. Deepak's book is just the right pick if one wants to find out the mysteries of Who I am and shrug off the evil, ego, hate, ignorance, violence and so on.
