Summary: Be Mindful
Review: My experience with Mr. Chopras work including "How to Know God" is that Mr. Chopra generally uses the information supplied to us generations ago by many sages......who did not make money on God. Those who are not familiar with the thoughts of these wise men and woman could use Mr. Chopras works as a means of learning about them. I do not generally find Mr. Chopras ideas and claims refreshing because they have been said before.I do appreciate that often Mr. Chopra will give recognition to those whose ideas he uses in his work. I have heard Mr. Chopras work and words compared to Mother Teresa, Mohatma Ghandi and Jesus Christ. The main difference I find here is that those other than Mr. Chopra did not make money with their words. They taught them freely. Just some food for thought.

Summary: A profound book
Review: I understand where the negative reviewers are coming from. I was raised Lutheran and many of the concepts here about the nature of God and reality are very foreign to the Lutheran faith, to say the least.

But this is not about religion. Rather, it is about spirituality. I have come to the conclusion that while many organized religions have plenty of good points such as the fellowship with others and the teaching of values and morals, the benefits are offset by the undeniable fact that religion is a very divisive factor in the world.

How many different religions are there in the world? And how many different factions within THOSE religions are there? (For example, the Missouri Synod Lutherans are much different than the Lutheran faith I grew up with.) And most of them believe that theirs is the *correct* or even the *only* path to Heaven. It would logically follow, then, that everyone else that is different is going to Hell. And to extrapolate that logic out to include every religious faction, if all of the factions believe that theirs is the *right* way and the others are going to Hell, then that means that *everyone* is going to Hell. Right? :-)

So, I've had it with organized religion. But I am still a very spiritual person. I believe in God. My concept of God has expanded since I've been reading books such as the Jane Roberts/Seth works, Edgar Cayce's books, and books about other faiths such as Taoism, Judaism, Hinduism, and the like.

I think that each religion, at its core (before getting distorted/corrupted/split into factions, which has happened to all religions including Christianity), holds innate truths about reality and God. If somehow we could learn to combine all of the *true* parts of all of the world's religions into one faith, then I think we would have a much clearer portrait of reality. (Ah, but what parts are true and what aren't? That is the debate. I believe reincarnation is a fact that was cut out of the Bible -- except for certain references to "morning stars" -- i.e., souls that were there during the dawn of Creation, before inhabiting bodies on Earth. But this is of course a matter of debate.)

A previous reviewer felt offended by the concept of God as more of a "force" or "concept" than a "supreme being." I can understand that. People naturally want to personify that which they cannot fully grasp. So, God becomes a "Him," a "Father," in human form. Jesus knew that, also, and presented God to his followers in such a way -- as "Father." It seems less impersonal than simply describing God as a "force."

But God is all of this, and more than this. God is multidimensional. God is in every atom, every molecule, every thought. And yet this is not all that God is. God does not exist apart from physical reality, nor does God exist only in physical reality. God is All. All is God. God is the Creator of all systems of reality, physical and otherwise. He is within each spider, frog, human, rock, and atom. God is neither male nor female, but is the sum of all existence and is yet more than this. God is a personality, yet our definition of the word "personality" is too limited to embrace all of the facets of God's existence. It is each person's goal to eventually become co-creators with God, to become one with God. This may take many lives, either here on Earth or in different systems (whether physical or non-physical).

But whether you agree with all of that or not, this book will still make you think. I think the main thing you can get from this book is a broader, more enlightened, more sympathetic understanding of your fellow man, and a desire to act in such a way that is more in line with the Golden Rule. If this is all that the book ends up accomplishing for readers, then that is certainly enough.

Review: How to describe this amazing book in few words? Impossible, as impossible for all of us to imagine how significantly this book will influence our society in the nearest future. Chopra's ideas are not just revolutionary - they are fundamentally changing what we all knew about God and ourselves before. This brilliant book is a true revelation for all readers and it is full of optimism and positive energy.

Review: What next. A book called "How to BE God"?

Summary: First You Pray
Review: The only times I used to pray were in casinos when I had big bets out. Thanks to books by Frank Scoblete, I now have enough skill to play games and leave the serious praying for serious matters. Writing about God is a serious matter and this book treats it with respect. The greatest mystery is our soul's relationship to the oversoul as the transcendentalists called "God." It is a mystery not necessarily solved in this book but one that is certainly illuminated by reading it.

Summary: A gift from the Interior
Review: Deepak is truly a gift from God, our mother. I applaud this work as the best gift our mother can give us -- the gift of wisdom which Deepak has been sharing very generously. Let us all pause for a moment, look farther away from our quest for material satisfaction and discover the magic of mother's gift, which we are squandering so foolishly.

Summary: Who am I and what is God?
Review: Views form the author of " Spiritual Truth Of all religions"

In the sky of infinity this infinitely existing one is called god, who is associated with all visible and invisible. God is an existence and also a great personality. We are part of it, like a molecule in a stone. The molecules of infinity as whole is called a stone. Like wise a small existence of God in every molecule is a prime truth. This is the theme of Gita and other religions. Every body will live happily and fearlessly after realising the immortal part of himself. That is why it is stated as "SATSHREE AKAL JO SAMJHE SO NIHAL". Both happiness and sorrowness should be taken `as equal and it will be accepted gladly considering it to be a law of nature. This will give happiness at the state of misery. That will be the prime situation of the person where there will be ecstasy only and a prime personality also. Keeping themselves alive people will find complete of them-selves without being detached from the prime soul (Ishwar). In our mythology, there is an episode in it, where only Yudhistir and his dog could enter the heaven physically and nobody else could. I want that everybody who carries love, non-violence, compassion and service mentality in himself, will enter to the heaven physically. The heaven described by all religions is a reflection of this earth only. As the chips of computer which is programmed and its reflection is seen on video screen, the heaven is also a reflection of earth. In other word "The heaven including hell is mirror in which the earth is seeing her exact appearance. You all have knowledge about the whole worlds, but unable to know about your-self. If you look into yourself you will find both you and me as a friend. Nothing in this world is as dangerous as the common conception that we are always right. The consequence of this conception led us to face misery, injustice, war and crime.Orthodox attitude, intolerance and imposing religious discipline on others have done a great deal of harm to the society. A true religion is not as making noise setting on different branches of a tree. Rather it is wise to remain calm by reaching to the root of it. Religion is not a chaos but is a peace given. It is not unreliable but self -reliant. Religion is not a war, it is friendship & love. I have tried my ancestors to sit on one branch and doing it without the help of you all is impossible. I am incomplete without you all. If any part of the body gets an acne, the whole body feels it. As long as the whole body is not relieved talking of peace is incomplete till then. Summary: Levels of spiritual evolution
Review: This book is the only one I know of that addresses the subject of levels of spiritual evolution so succinctly. Although I could quibble with some of Mr. Chopra's comments, argue that there is more overlap than he suggests, and say that he leaves out such information as how prior levels affect current ones -- this book is invaluable, and I have bought or recommended it to everyone I know.

Summary: Wow!
Review: This book was my first introduction to the work of Deepak Chopra and to the concept of quantum physics being used to "prove" that God exists. Wow! What an incredibly enlightening book for searchers of God and the soul.

What was most significant to me was Chopra's contention that we are in different stages of knowing God. This was not a new concept to me, but I found Chopra's evolutionary stages of spiritual development fascinating and thought provoking.

How to Know God takes a giant leap forward in answering the questions, Is there a God? What is God? Is anybody out there?

If you're searching for answers, don't ignore this book. Reading it will be the best spiritual investment you'll ever make!

Summary: What I read opened my closed mind. A difficult feat!
Review: I get quite uptight about the closed minded thinking of what I'll call rigid fundamentalists. Still, I am never so sure I know much more then they. I felt they didn't have the answers, but I sure didn't either. Deepak's book shed great light on the likelihood that others are just where they should be in their quest for God, as I am probably where I should be on my quest. My heart filled with compassion for those I had been mentally belittling for so long. Deepak's explanation of spiritual progression, the steps toward more fully knowing God, felt right. He simplified the spiritual process (which is really quite complex). He made me eager to learn more and to forgive more. I had been as locked in my point of view as those I claimed to be locked in theirs. He helped me see a bigger picture, a picture where God is present for everyone, communicating with everyone and it is not for me to judge their mode of communication. I hope I'm not so smug from now on. My limited communication with God needs lots of work. I think he'll be happier when I worry about our relationship and not others'relationship with him. I highly recommend the book.
