Summary: Ok, so I'm a guy who reads Sandra Brown
Review: She's not someone I'd normally read but I figured it might be an interesting experience. My female colleagues teased me about reading this. Someone told me this was "trashy stuff" (which I found out that it means it deserves a X-rated label of sorts -- I guess that's why it's so appealing!). Anyway, I told them that a good "salesman" (I'm a librarian) has to know all his wares, so...

The plot is nothing to shout about. I felt it was the typical "hero gets his girl" romance story, where all the women seem hungry for men, and the men (looks not withstanding) seem to get the women. Hmm... was this book really written for women?

It's entertaining read, really. So I gave it 4-stars. It doesn't set out to be intellectual stuff in the first place, and like any adult Romance novel, it has its fair share of love scenes. All in clean fun, and some love scenes are quite amusing 'cos it's so cliche. A good read for those who want to just lose themselves for a few hours on the train, or before bed.

I can now understand why it's popular among women readers. Heck, men should read such books once in a while.

Summary: Undoubtedly, this book is marvelous!
Review: The plot was so captivating that it drew me into it`s web never letting me go until the last page was read. By that time, I did not want to escape, I wanted the story to continue for the magic the characters created bewitched me. The opening paragraph should indicate to you how immensely enjoyable the book was. The story centres around a female doctor who settled in a quaint town to seek the help of man that she knew despised her.Yet it was him and only him that could lay her ghosts to rest. The chemistry created between these two main characters is evident to the reader and their arguments perhaps provide for the most enjoyment. That is not to say that the plot itself lacks in any way. On the contrary, the plot is well-thought out, interesting and provides much suspense. There is an intriguing twist of the tale towards the end of the book and that would remove you from the edge of your seat

Summary: I loved this book!
Review: This book actually brought tears to my eyes when Lara mourns for her daughter Ashley. The Key and Lara romance was great but my favorite characters were Bowie and Janellyn. It's nice to read about "not so beautiful" people finding love too! I have re-read this book several times.

Summary: Where there's Sandra Brown...
Review: This book shows Sandra earning her chops as a thriller/romance writer. She packs quite a bit of emotion into the plot, with some twists that the reader "almost" dosen't see coming. She also tackles some serious social issues into this book, which makes it a more serious read than her romance genres.

Summary: Never stopped reading
Review: This book was great! I couldn't put it down for long. Full of antagonists, twists, and adventure. The ending was definately a shocker. I loved Lara's determination and Key's struggle with his feelings for her.
If you like Brown's romantic mystery/suspenses, I also recommend "Slow Heat in Heaven" "Fat Tuesday" "French Silk" "Breath of Scandal" "Texas! Trilogy"

Summary: Incredible performance by the timeless Lynda Carter.
Review: This is a great story, involving and romantic. The characterisations by Lynda Carter are so convincing, heartfelt and sensetive you will laugh, feel tears in your eyes and be totally absorbed by the story. This is the first audiobook I have ever bought and I hope Lynda Carter does more of them. I also enjoyed this my first sandra Brown experience. A winner combination of an excellent narration and style and a great book. I was really talen aback my Ms Carter's ability to create different voices, it's alarming, and you will feel that there are different people in the room with you! She also manages to switch from different and heartfelt emotions that you will find heartwrenching with such ease, style and class. A big thumbs up, Five stars, with no small thanks to the incredible Lynda Carter.

Summary: Breath takingly captivating
Review: This is a story of a young woman accused of being the adulterous wife of an US Ambassador who destroys the career of Senator Clark Tackett. Because of scandal and the media, Lara finds herself thrown into the angry and political upheaval of a small Central American country where her husband is stationed. Through an ambush on their car while driving to a diplomatic dinner, Lara loses the life of her daughter and husband. In the states, Senator Tackett committs suicide. In his will he leaves Lara a small piece of property in Eden Pass, his hometown, for her to continue her medical pratice. Once arriving, Lara finds herself the hated woman, the adulterous hussy. Jody Tackett, the mother of Clark, wants Lara driven from town and will go to any lengths to do just that. Janellen Tackett, the unmarried daughter of Jody's, cannot decide if Lara is friend or foe; she's content to follow in her mother's shadow. Key Tackett, Clark's younger brother and the prodigal child of the Tackett family, finds himself drawn to Lara and yet, at the same time, hating her for the disruption in his family and blaming her for his beloved brother's death. But the Tackett family isn't the only ones after Lara. Darcy, the town's party girl and the wife of the prominent leader in town, wants Lara gone, considering her the rival of Key's attentions. Lara must prove herself time and time again if she wants to survive in this town. But she cannot leave just yet, no matter how much she and the citizens of Eden Pass wants her to. The Tackett family owes her one favor and she is determined to collect the favor at any cost to gain the answers of her past. And to conceal the one truth that could be devastating to all in the Tackett family. If you want romance, this is the book. If you want political intrigue, this is the book. If you want a mystery that will keep you guessing, this is the book. Sandra Brown has done a wonderful and compelling job of storytelling. This is a book that will keep you reading, unwillingly to put it down for even a minute.

Summary: Most definitely HOT...
Review: This is another favorite by Sandra Brown. Deceit of a horrible situation yet you have to fight for what you feel and know is right. Some dangerous circumstances keep you on edge of seat and you don't know who to trust. Some may sound the same but nuances change and characters change. Thsi was a great read but prepare to stay up for the entirety.

Summary: There is fire in this one!
Review: This is by far the best Sandra Brown book. The story was convoluted and therefore interesting. The people were larger than life, but then why read a book if you are not looking for an escape. I just had one problem, it ended too soon, but it ended very well. I have not read another Brown that is this good.

Thanks for writing it.

Summary: a good, solid book
Review: This is my 4th Sandra Brown. The first three were Bittersweet Rain, 22 Indigo Place, and A Kiss to Remember. Anyway, I really like her as a writer. Something I've noticed is that she deals a lot with public opinion and gossip, and how it can be very negative or false. The plot is very good. Throughout this book, I kept thinking "I know that Lara couldn't have had an affair with Key's brother, it can't be." But Lara never denied it, so I was baffled. I kept on trying to find explanations for it, but could come up with nothing. I'm not going to say any more on that for fear of giving anything away, except when I got to an explanation, it was just "whoa... what?!"

on to the characters... I liked Lara. She was very competent and composed, and wasn't clingy. She also wasn't vindictive or mean, even when people acted incredibly badly towards her, but instead of making this look like she doesn't have a backbone, somehow it just makes her look stronger. And she is strong, she seems to take everything in stride no matter what. As for Key, I liked his little jokes and innuendos. If I met him in real life though, honestly, I'd probably think he was a jerk. He comes off as being really arrogant. He turns out to be an OK guy though. I wish some more time was spent on developing their relationship. What with all the action and plot twists, I sort of missed some of the chemistry between them. However, if you like Sandra Brown, you'll like this book, and it's worth reading.
