Summary: Entertaining but not worth the hours spent
Review: Fun read to just getaway but frustrating too. Many of the characters just didn't feel real, and even after the motives and reasons behind some of their actions were revealed I still didn't see any logic behind many of their relationships. Plots twists became outrageous and felt contrived.

Summary: My first Sandra Brown book . . . NOT my last....
Review: I actually wanted to buy "Alibi" (I liked the title), but never having read anything by Sandra Brown, I was hesitant. At a garage sale, I saw this one, "Where there's smoke" and thought "What have I got to lose?" I had no preconceived notions going in. Throughout the book I thought I could predict a couple of things (in most books you can), but with each new chapter, I was outfoxed! This is a page-turner whose ending COMPLETELY surprised me!

This novel wasn't too "romance novel"y, which I hate! I've never read Danielle Steel and don't intend to. I despise what's his name "I can't believe it's not butter" man, so I won't waste my money on books with him, or anyone who looks like him on the cover. I refuse to read books I think are for frustrated housewives (like "Bridges of Madison County"). I like adventure; suspense; drama, and unpredictibility. This one had all elements.

Now my dilemma is, which will I read next?

Summary: Waste of Paper
Review: I do not think there are enough words to describe how frustrated I was after finishing this book. I had to force myself to continue. The hero, Key, was an egotistical jerk, and not in the dashing, romantic way. He was extremely judgemental, hypocritical and cruel. I could not find one endearing quality in him. As for Laura, I liked her at first, for her determination and intelligence. But she turned out to be just as disappointing. She actually fell in love with the jerk, yet still couldn't be honest with him. I regret the time I spent trying to enjoy this book. To all potential readers, do not waste your time. Instead, read one of S.Browns better thrillers, like The Witness, or French Silk.

Summary: Ageless Lynda Carter performs superbly: a pleasan surprise
Review: I have never heard a story on tape that was so utterly moving and sincere! This is because of a very sensitive and realistic performance by Lynda Carter, who displays a great range of acting ability in this tape series. I had never read a Sandra Brown story before, but would consider it after hearing this tape package. I admire all of Lynda Carter's films and television shows, and this is a piece of work of which she can be truly proud.

Summary: The absolute BEST from Sandra Brown!
Review: I have read every book published by Sandra Brown to date, but I continue to go back to Where There's Smoke. I've read it at least 5 times, and it truly amazes me how enthralling it is each time. The characters are so well developed, and intriguing. Most books are so predictable, however this one always has a suprise waiting for you! The admiration you build for the heroine is so strong. You begin to identify with her plight. I recommend this book STRONGLY to anyone. Every Sandra Brown book is a joy to read.

Summary: Man I Was Hooked!
Review: I have read several of her books, and this one had the most intrigue of any of the ones before. I have a lot more to read of hers and I will definitely read every thing of hers I get my hands on. She had 5 relationships going fluidly in this book and I wanted to know everything she would write about every character. You will love how this book ends! If you havent decided whether or not to get this book, think no more! It is worth every penny! I just hope all her books continue to be as enjoyable as the ones I've read so far!

Summary: Great Read
Review: I have yet to read a Sandra Brown book that I didn't like. "Where Theres Smoke" is no exception. It was full of surprises and plot twists. So many great characters and subplots that really pull you into the story. Once I got started I couldn't put it down. I read until 2 am to see how it turned out. Classic Brown--once you start her books you can't stop. The romance between Laura and Key was great but I especially loved the connection between Janellen and Bowie.

Summary: As my 3 year old daughter says, "2 thumbs up"
Review: I remember picking this book up for the first time because I thought it was cute that the main character Lara and I had the same first name. Plus, she was a dr. and for a long time I thought that was what I wanted to be. Decided on a stay at home mom, but onto the review. :)

This was my second Sandra Brown. The first I read was Silken Web, which is my favorite, but this is just as good. this book has twists and turns and just when you think that you have it all figured out you turn the page and think to yourself nevermind. ha ha

Lara is your typical self-righteous heroine and Key is your typical rough around the edges hero with a heart of gold. But that's where the typical part ends. Believe me when I say you'll never get enough, and this one like Silken Web will earn a permanent place on your bookshelf.
