Rating: Summary: These pages SIZZLES... Review: This is the 3rd book and the BEST I have read by Robards. There were time when I couldn't stop laughing. And the characters are well thought out and REAL. Ladies you will fall in love with Matt, who is HOT, SEXY AND...SWEET. And is the guardian to his three college age sisters. Carly, is a typical small town girl who left for the City life and found out that "HOME is where her HEART is". She came back home and the first thing she ran into (literally) is her first love (Matt) along with murder, mystery and mayhem. And I mean MAYHEM......
Rating: Summary: Very contrived - to the point of being ridiculous! Review: This is the first time I read this author and, if this is a sample of her work, it was very disappointing. Nothing rang true - not the ridculous storyline or the characters relationships with one another or especially the 'villian' and his story and how he amazingly even won the lottery!! This story was like scraps of ideas trying to be woven into a mystery. It did not work.
Rating: Summary: Matt sounds really hot Review: This was a good book but not her best. It was a little slow getting started but ended up pretty good. I would recommend it.
Rating: Summary: A Whisper of a Mystery! Review: This was on the mystery shelf at the library and since I havent read too much of Karen Robards, decided to give it a try. It's a fun read. Mystery was confusing; I like procedurals mostly, but the romance was fun. Love when two people get together after ending in a clash in the past. Carly was a bundle of nerves which was sometimes annoying but she comes back to Georgia after a bad divorce to recoup her life and discovers Matt all over again. Actually, it was mostly centered on the on-again -- off-again aspect of the romance. The mystery doesnt interfere much. :D Altogher it takes about 3 hours to read and was a pleasant weekend read.
Rating: Summary: Wasn't sure about this one at 1st, but loved it! Review: This was one of those books which had ratings from 1 star to 5 stars. I was wary about ordering it but I'm glad I did. Yes, Carly was a little annoying with her "no good, dirty, rotten, SOB". And Matt with his "kiss and run attitude" was very immature. He apologized for his actions 12 years earlier because he was "just a kid" (21 years old?), then he did the same thing again even though he knew it was wrong. I really enjoyed Nick's sisters and he did a wonderful job of putting his own dreams aside to raise them. Another reviewer had mentioned Carly treated her cat terribly. I didn't understand that. But I must admit that while I like cats I don't know much about them so that's probably why I didn't see it. Being a dog person I was so glad to see the dog find a good home. Sandra was hysterical, what a character! I loved the setting and the house. Matt & Carly had a lot of chemistry, especially once he realized that she was the one he'd always wanted. Read this one, you won't be sorry!

Rating: Summary: Not KR's best...... Review: This was pretty classic KR.... However, it's not even close to her best work. I did like the characters in the book for the most part.... our heroine kinda got stupid once (that's a spoiler though, so I won't go there). My main problem with the book was that it was wayyyyyyyy too wordy... descriptive sentences were in most every paragraph.... got boring. I did like the plot it was kinda spine-tingling a couple of times.... but she didn't put as much effort into it as she could have & when she wrapped it all up I had everything figured out except the actual name of the killer (which was a nobody anyway). The conclusion was a let down for me. Also, I didn't much care for the love scenes.... they just weren't romanctic... nor did they raise my eyebrows (lol)- kind of just thrown in there, ya know? Anyway, diehard KR fans will probably want to go ahead & read it - but don't get your expectations up.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Book Review: This was the first book I have read of Karen Robards and it will not be the last. I have already bought Beachcomber and can't wait to start it. I loved the characters in this book, the brother-sister relationships were great, and I didn't have a clue as to who the person was trying to murder Carly!
Rating: Summary: Laugh out loud FUN! Review: Was this really by Karen Robards? I love Romantic Suspense, and she is defiantly one of my favorite authors in the genre. But this was by far one of her best in my opinion, mostly because of the unexpected humor. I didn't think I was going to get through Chapters 4-7 because I was laughing so much. This book has all of the elements of an awesome Romantic Suspense novel; in fact humor doesn't begin to describe how hilarious this book was. It's a keeper.
Rating: Summary: Too much! Review: While reading this book (my third Robards novel), I felt confused and annoyed. Was I reading a mystery? A police procedural? A romance novel? Serious women's fiction? On track one, Ms. Robards appears to be writing a mystery novel concerning the disappearance of an abused woman; on track two, though, we have Carly and Sandra, two divorcees who team their respective talents to open a b-and-b in the Georgia countryside; on track three, we have several couples moving in and out of relationships; and on track four, we have the too-young Sheriff Matt attempting to solve a woman's disappearance, Carly's stalking, and his department's personnel problems while playing head of the family to a trio of sisters and avoiding the snares of the tritely-drawn Shelby. And I realize that Matt is young, but why would even the most inexperienced law enforcement officer begin tearing up the grounds surrounding a mansion before completing a thorough search of the indoors (including the unused freezer in the basement)? It makes no sense! I have thoroughly enjoyed the other Robards novels I've read and may try another. But this novel was too forced and overcrowded with both subplots and characters who could have been deleted. Recommended only to die-hard Robards fans. For others, I suggest Robards' Hunter's Moon--a fine, coherent read.
