Rating: Summary: dutch version Review: Well...I live in the Netherlands and these books are translated into my language. I have to say that, to my oppinion, the books are great! I recommended these books to a lot of my friends. They too are very happy with these books. Maybe it's true, that the books are very pleasent for young people or young christians who have a lot of questions. We are all waiting for the next title. The Mark was the last one to appear here in the Netherlands. Hope to see more of it.
Rating: Summary: Great! Review: At the conclusion of this book I was ready to start the next one immediately! The entire series has been great. I started out listening to the first book on tape. I spend a lot of time on the road so I listen to a lot of books on tape. I continued to listen to them all that way. I have recommended the series to everyone I talk to. In my opinion, this series has helped folks who have not read the bible or had a hard time reading Revelations. When my seventeen year old listened to the first book she could relate what she was hearing to what she had read in Revelations. It gave her a better understanding. My heart went out to those saints of God who willingly went to the guillotine. I pray that should I miss the Rapture (and I do not plan on doing that) God will imbue me with the courage needed to face that horrible ordeal.
Rating: Summary: fillers, all of 'em Review: Seriously, since book 3, all of them have been an 80% retelling of the previous installments and 20% new stuff. If i wanted to read the previous book, why bother buying this one? I've had it, I'm throwing the towel. The Christ Clone Trilogy managed to pack all its content into 3 small books. And seems like left behind isn't offering anything that christ clone trilogy did not. At this rate, it wouldn't surprise me if the series was 'left behind' by more readers before it reached its conclusion.
Rating: Summary: We Don't Get It? Review: The reader from "suburban Detroit" implied that anyone who criticizes this series is not a Christian. I have been a believer for over 40 years, believe in the pre-trib Rapture and the Millennium, and to me, this series STINKS! The characters are unbelievable, the plot is unbelievable, and you would have to be able to swallow a camel to accept everything they are feeding you. The number of books in the series is also unbelievable. Forget this pablum and read your Bible instead.
Rating: Summary: Praise Jesus! Review: Finally, a book that I can give my children to scare the HELL into them! It's important for people to know that God's horrific and cruel death will come to all if they choose not to believe He's a loving God! It makes our jobs as Christians so much easier because instead of traditional Fire and Brimstone sermons we can give a sinner this book! When they're shaking in terror we take advantage of their fear and vulnerability to convert them! Some parents may complain this book is too violent for young children, but I say God's murderous wrath is divine! We give them Bibles, don't we?
Rating: Summary: Excellent continuation Review: This is the eighth book in the Left Behind Series. Now that Carpathia is back, he begins ordering all persons to receive his mark on their forehead or right hand. This mark is the Mark of the Beast. Anybody who refuses to take his mark are executed by guillotine. Christians are rounded up and executed. Prision inmates are among the first to be given the mark. And the Tribulation force gathers together in a building in an abandoned downtown Chicago. Next in the series is "Desecration" I will put out a review for this upon release and completion of reading it.
Rating: Summary: Same Old, Same Old... Review: While I am a staunch pre-trib, pre-mil holder, I just found that after a while these books all began to run together. I thought that they were very well written but I just couldn't get into them after Appollyon. I would suggest that teenagers read these ones instead of adults.
Rating: Summary: All about the Money Review: I agree with Frank from Raleigh. This has become all about making yet more money for Tim LaHaye and nothing about telling the story of the end times. If Mr. LaHaye really cared whether or not people were educated about the end times, he would not be telling this story in what looks like it's going to be about 18 books. The story is fictionalized of course, and with a common pre-trib viewpoint that has been expressed by many others and is not the result of any original research by Mr. LaHaye. It looks like he is just interested in making money by slapping his name on yet another book. He even slaps his name ACROSS the top of a BIBLE and calls it the Tim LaHaye Prophecy Bible. It gives me the creeps. He puts his name before any others on the TOP OF A BIBLE. Is it all about money? You bet.
Rating: Summary: It just keeps getting better! Review: The Mark was fabulous reading! The series just keeps getting better and better. I've read reviews by many people, some of whom don't care much for the series, and my impression of these reviews is that the people writing them JUST DON'T GET IT! The whole concept of salvation must be foreign to them, so they don't understand the significance of what they are reading. The writing is excellent, the characters believable, and they make you care about their plight. I can't wait for the next one to be published!
Rating: Summary: I want to tell everyone to read these books Review: I don't read to often because frankly I have to much going on in my life. So when my mother told me I should read them I decided what the heck. And let me tell you I can't put the books down. Any believer should have questions about what is going to happen to the people who are left behind. And I think it's pretty neat that these gentelman have put there objections out there so people can make there own judgment. The Mark has been one of the hardest books to read so far for me anyways. I can't imagion having to go through what these people did. To be that brave is truely an act of God. And to think it only gets worse from here. I can't wait for the next book to hit the self because I'll be right there waiting. Along with about 20,000,000 other people.
