Summary: Eight books and running -- and it STILL stinks!
Review: I was barely able to read the first book in this cynically-machined series of novels about the End Of The World As Christians Know It. Its few good ideas were buried in description and dialog so porcine and characters so flat and dull that I lost interest immediately. (People who are interested in a far better take on this sort of thing should read James Blish's "Day After Judgment" books, by the way.)

Now we get to #8 in the series, and not a darn thing has changed. The writing is still awful; the plotting turgid; the characterizations straight off the back of the cereal box; the philosophies, both spoken and unspoken, cement-headed in the extreme. A sexist mess, too -- but the sexism is sort of like the splitting headache accompanying the fact that you have a terminal illness. Pass the ipecac.

Summary: A Great Book
Review: This book gave the perfect amount of detail. Some of the other recent books in the series gave too much detail and insight into the character's thought. This book gave a great medium between thought and action. I only hope the remaining books will keep the pace of this book. I disagree with some of the other comments. The book was full of action and involved more of the characters than usual. This book is a must read.

Summary: Entertaining and comical...
Review: I suppose this series is somewhat entertaining if you've never read anything better in your life. The story is hardly new, and the humor doesn't taste so fresh either. Admittedly, the storyline is quick and the dialogue drives it with force. You can't help but like the books because your brain shuts off almost like when you're watching TV.

It makes me laugh to read about those who've found truth and revelation in these books. Though I suppose it's not my place to disabuse the believers of their notion that make believe beings actually have the power to end the world. I just read the series for a few laughs and pass time in a frivolous manner. I'm not going to lose my sleep over an apocalypse, that's for sure.

Those looking for religious significance be warned, you might be disappointed. This series is by no means poignant, and even less wise. It's an entertaining tale that will make the authors and their publishers a LOT of money. No wonder it's a bestseller; good for the masses, but those with a higher degree of taste might look elsewhere for more profound fiction. Or borrow from a library, like I did.

Take it for what it is, and it won't disappoint because the bottom line is that it's entertaining to a high degree.

Summary: Might be Interesting, but not Biblical
Review: Matthew 24:34 "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." This was said back in the first century in regards to the devastation talked about in the Left Behind series. Yes, all this hullaballoo about something that happened in 70 AD. We, as Christians, need to become better scholars of the Bible. We are a horrible witness to the rest of the world. May God have mercy upon us and bring forth the true teachings of the Bible regarding Eschatology.

Summary: left behind series
Review: This series is a wonderful series to read, it keeps you wondering what will happen next. It also makes me continue to look at my own beliefs. Its a great series for the christian believer and non-believer alike. I hope who ever reads this will give the first book " left behind" a chance I am sure you will get hooked on them. I am 32yrs old,and before I read this series, I probably read 3 to 4 books, in the last 2 months I have read all 7 books in the series and I am getting the new one " the mark " today.

Summary: Awesome
Review: This book really blows you away. Now the Anti-Christ is full in action as he racks havoc and the last three and a half years begin. It's scary and I wouldn't like to be here and thank God I would have been raptured at the beginning of the seven years tribulation period. The Mark is really an awesome thriller and breathtaking, it's very well written: I recommend it very much. Regarding end time events I also enjoyed another excellent new book that deals with the realistic threat of nuclear disaster which is "THE CONSULTANT" by Alec Donzi.

Summary: A Great Book From What I've Heard!
Review: From friends of mine, I find that the response to this book after reading it is "excellent" and "spectacular." I, for one, am not this far in the series but I just can't wait til I can finally read this book. The build-up to it is tremendous and should be read by all.

After all the storyline changes as well as changes in main characters, this series still remains in my top 10. The variety these books bring to us reader's is wonderful and the anticipation for the next book to arrive is always nerve-racking. I totally love this series and this book I have heard is the best one by far.

As you can tell it is pretty convincing that "The Mark" is a definite must buy if you are reading the series "Left Behind" in the present time. I recommend this book to people that believe a book can change your life....and this book and even series does that for you! Thanks for reading this and please buy the book!

Summary: Breathtaking
Review: Well, it has been a long wait since The Indwelling, but having read The Mark within a couple of days I have to say it was worth the wait. I was addicted, challenged and terrified as I became engrossed in the force's mission, and about Nicolae's latest plots.

I found this as readable as the earlier ones, and as action packed as Apollyon, but overall it challenged me in my faith. It mixed some of the best qualities of the earlier books, occasionally however with questionable theological interpretaion, but it had me on the edge of my seat.

Roll on book 9!

Summary: One of the Best in the Series So Far...
Review: The Bible is truth, an everlasting truth. From the beginning in creation to after the Great White Throne of Judgment, the Bible speaks truth. God will call upon the Son to take up the Church and bring Her home to marry...and then condemn the world and its prince to judgment through the tribulation period.

Salvation comes through Jesus and Jesus alone. No other can bring you to God; not Buddha, not the "goddess", not anyone or anything else. Faith in God through the trinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, speaks the way...the only way...to Heaven.

I find the Left Behind series to be an important witnessing tool because I do believe that many of the events of the end times are coming true today.

We see in churches those fools who dare to say there was no virgin birth, that there was no ressurection... foolish groups as the Jesus Seminar. Then we see snakes disguised as sheep in such evil works as the Seat of the Soul and Conversations with God series.

We see in world events apathy and unChristian values being taught in America's schools and government. We see world events in Europe, the coming of the new Roman empire. We see the evils of the enemies of God's people...Russia and the PLO to name a few...trying to tear down Israel.

As the two witnesses say, woe to those who do not put their faith in God through the living Son Jesus Christ.

I honestly believe that this series is blessed by God and that is why it is so popular, in audio, in book, and in movie format. And the Mark continues in the trend of being blessed. Its an awesome story of bravery in the face of pure evil. When the saints are willing to give up their earthly life in the name of the Son, that is true bravery my friend.

I look upon the characters and I realize how much they are me before I came to Christ. I realize that I and so many other Christians have to become bold, brave, and willing to speak the truth about God even if it costs us our earthly life...

I truly suggest that anyone out there read this series and pray to God that you won't be left behind, that you will be fueled, indwelled, by the Holy Spirit and that the Spirit will show you the truth of Christ...and you will be born again, this time of the Spirit...

Summary: Got the wrong beast.
Review: It would have been better with the real beast: Ronald (6), Wilson (6), Reagan (6). He's going to shake this Alzheimer thing and he's coming to get ya! See how easy it is to make something out of nothing? Actually -- many people are taking this entertainment excessively seriously. This is not an interpretation or 'decoding' of the biblical book Revelation -- read it for yourself and you'll see what I mean. This is series of books has no connection to what is written there. The person who wrote Revelation was using imagery common to superstitious astrologers. It was the time when the (so-called) age of Aries (the Ram or lamb) dies and the age of Pieces (the fish) began. All the prognosticators expected earthly events to reflect the 'end of age' events they saw in the stars. You see similar stories in ancient Norse myths about the end of the world (the beast from the pit and the 144.000). These new 'houses' of the zodiac go from one to another after a period of a little over 2,000 years. That organization of the sky made for a handy calendar - it's all very clever but it is still superstitious nonsense if you try to make it mean more than that. Please don't take mine, or anyone else's word for this - if this stuff really worries you - take some responsibility and at the very least, read Revelation for yourself. It's only a few pages. Wouldn't you have to agree that someone would be a fool or a liar if they read hundreds of pages of human authors but refuse to read even a few dozen pages of what they claim to believe to be God's word?
