Rating: Summary: WELL ROUNDED 8TH BOOK Review: "The Mark" was, for me, better than "The Indwelling". Covered in this book are elements of humor, horror, drama, action and suspense. An old face from the past returns in this book, for a brief moment. Things are sped up as Nicolae and his followers begin setting up locations for receiving his mark...as well as the guillotines for those who reject. The insiders at New Bablyon must get out before 30 days. A new convert joins the Trib Force in Chicago...while Tsion teaches Chaim the Word. Although you may disagree with Mr. Lahayes bibilical interpretations...this series is a good witness tool.
Rating: Summary: Starting to get bored with the series Review: Lahaye and Jenkins have somewhat redeemed themselves from their last book (The Indwelling), which was a total disappointment. The Mark flows the same as the past 3 or so. I believe the original concept was for 7 books and they have extended it to 12(?), however it is beginning to amaze me that can stretch one event over 300+ pages. The writing is getting pretty thin, with a lot of unnecessary "filler"...not much substance. I would recommend borrowing the book from someone or buying it second hand. Mine's for sale!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely wonderful Review: This was an excellent book. It follows up from the Indwelling perfectly. I use my imagination and I feel as if I'm standing beside Buck in that enforcement facillitor room as people die for their beliefs. It only took me 3days to read this book . the only down fall that I noticed is it takes too long for the nexy book to come out. I really dont think I can wait til summer 2001!!
Rating: Summary: the mark was a very good book Review: well i do not read these kinds of book but a friend of mine bought the left behind series snd i was hooked this is the best book of the series
Rating: Summary: Love it Review: I have read all of the books so far and this is the best one in my opinion. It seems so real that you feel that you are there.
Rating: Summary: "The Mark" didn't quite hit the mark! Review: I recently became an avid reader of the "Left Behind" series finishing the 1st 7 in a span of a little over a week. By book 7, I really had begun to feel that this was being stretched out just to help sell more-book #8 seems to confirm it. I really feel like I know nothing more than I knew to start with. As a matter of fact, the part of Nicolae Carpathia going to ride a pig into Jerusalem is absolutely ludicrous!!! I've also seen others ridicule the book for it's pre-trib rapture, but I've took disagreeance with that as the Bible clearly teaches a pre-trib rapture, but what the Bible does not teach is a once your saved, you'll always be philosophy, but yet "The Mark" seems to promote that idea with Tsion Ben-Judah's teaching that God would not allow a Christian to take the Mark of the Beast. God has given everyone a free will & to say that "God wouldn't allow me to take the Mark" is saying God would take away your free will. Will God give those left behind the strenght to resist? Most certainly, but you will (just as now) have a free will. Is "The Mark" worth the money? Well, yes and no. If you're a casual reader, probably not. Avid readers such as myself (who anxiously await book #9 in 2001) should go for it.
Rating: Summary: Back in the pulpit again Review: America's favorite grandstanding, bible beating, doomsdayers are back at it again spreading there vision of the rapture (and their pocket books). How much longer can intelligent, open minded people stand by and watch these two money grubbing, captialist, right-wingers rape and pillage the wallets of small, weak minded individuals who are trying to buy their way into heaven. Well the answer is "mind your own business". If it makes people FEEL BETTER to read this drivel then so be it. Just remember that the next time someone has an opinion that differs from your own like abortion, evolution, atheism, agnostisism, gay rights, socialism, communism, drug use, and other so called evils that lie outside of your small minded realm of the universe. We all have our own opinions and beliefs and yours is not mine. You can buy these books till the cows come in and you won't hear me staging protests or boycotting the publishing agency, I will just let it be so you will let me be to have my own beliefs (which do not include the second coming, or the antichrist here on earth) This book was trite, cliched, tired, boring, and poorly written. If you want to read an awe inspiring religous novel read The Last Temptation Of Christ. It will steal your heart and your breath. Unlike this sensationalistic piece of garbage aimed at making money(why? You can't take it with you when the end comes!), the Last Temptation... takes you on a true spiritual journey through Christ's life as a man with all the passion of a real human being
Rating: Summary: Great! but suffers from the same problem as book #7 Review: The story continues. Riveting. Can't put it down. But, just as #7, it covers such a short period of time that the reader gets the feeling "Where's the beef?" It would be better if the publisher would bind the books in sets of two. The 8 Left Behind books would make 4 great novels.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Continuing Drama! Review: My favorite was the Indwelling, but The Mark continues to portray the Biblical truth of the future of this world, in a must read series. The next book is not being released fast enough for me.
Rating: Summary: Rose Review: This is an excellent book! I have enjoyed every single book in the series. This book continues the "page turner" tradition begun by the first book.
