Rating: Summary: The Weakest Book of the Series Review: I felt that The Mark lacked the plot and action that the other books had. It seemed to be a transitional book. There really was no point to it except for the initiation of the mark. Other than a few good pages on the prisons the book was boring. I would still read it though just to get to the later books that will be better.
Rating: Summary: A Must Read Review: While readers have had varied responses to this book, like the rest of the series, I read this in one day. I was blown away by the teachings that are included in this fiction. Anyone who reads this has amble time to "hear" the Gospel and respond to it. I recommend starting at the beginning of the series with Left Behind. As most know, the Mark in the 8th book of the series. I can hardly wait for number 9!Tony Wilson Long Beach, CA
Rating: Summary: It gives you something to really think about! Review: I have been an avid reader of the Left Behind Series for almost three years now, and have never ceased to be amazed at how these books make me think about the future of this world and what would happen if I was truly left behind. I often try to put myself in the characters' shoes, and think about what decisions I would have to make if I were them. The Mark deals with one of the most difficult decisions a person would ever have to face. Think about this for a moment. The mark of the beast offers you life, but it is a life without God. You cannot reverse it once you take this mark, and it will seal your fate forever. But if you choose to not take the mark, you will die. However that death promises you an eternity in Heaven. To me, there would be no greater honor than to stand my ground and die for my beliefs. And many will. This is as real as it will get! I urge the ones who have not read this book to do so. It will really make you stop and think. I can't wait until the next book comes out. I am very curious about what happens next.
Rating: Summary: Color me Disappointed!! Review: I have been an avid reader of the series and have greatly anticipated each new installment, but wow am I disappointed in this one. In fact I am not even sure why he even wrote this book! To bottom line it, little of significance happens in this book. So as to not give anything away I will not get specific, but there are about two important events in this book and a couple more things that could be considered important, but that are not vital. At the end of the story the author just seems to hit the brakes. In the other books the author leads you into an exciting part of the plot and in the thick of the action he hits you with a "to be continued." This book is ended during the build up to an important event, but nothing exciting yet. This book is nearly page after page of a bunch of needless dialog. This book could have been condensed into a few chaptes and put into book 9. There's just enough going on to keep you reading, but it pales in comparison to the first 7 books. The first seven were like watching "Survivor", The Mark was like watching "Big Brother."
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: I have truly enjoyed the whole Left Behind series, but was a little disappointed with The Indwelling as nothing much seemed to happen there, not much advancement of the story of the series. But The Mark did not disappoint me at all! It was as exciting as Left Behind and Assassins. It made me cry for those who chose the mark of the beast, and rejoice for those who refused it. It is exciting to me that this series is reaching people on a real level and leading them to the truth of Christ. There are those who will continue to be deceived, just as those who gladly accept the mark of the beast in the book are deceived, but that is inevitable and Biblical. I think the thing that is most exciting about this series is that it will still be around after the Rapture to clue in those who are left behind, who now see this series, and the Bible, as drivel and mere fiction, just as the tape was left behind to clue in the Tribulation Force in the first book in this series. This book is a must read for those hooked on this series, and the series is a must read for those who are truly seeking God and the truth and not willing to accept this world's view of things.
Rating: Summary: Marketing ploy of the century Review: Having read all of the books in this series, I have found that I am quite frustrated with these last two books. The previous book ended with many unresolved situations. It arrived (by way of a rather circuitous route) at the climactic point of the book leaving several of the characters without resolution, something like a TV soap opera, forcing readers who have become involved with the characters to purchase the next book to find out what happened (which is the same ploy used in the end of book six). Although this book is easier to follow, does not introduce too many new characters and then drop them without resolution, and has a more coherent time line, I'm giving it one star because these books simply cannot stand alone. This book seemingly ends before the great climax to which it points, again forcing the buyer to purchase the next book to discover what will happen to the characters. I don't know about other readers, but in my opinion, each book should be able to stand alone and yet draw the reader's interest into the series. These books simply do not do this. They are the soap opera of literature, and if they continue as such even loyal readers will lose interest, becoming tired of the seeming marketing manipulations used by the writers to keep people coming back for more.
Rating: Summary: Not as good as Apollyon, Better than Soul Harvest Review: This book went into quite a bit more character development, just like Soul Harvest. There is action, just more spaced out. All of these books are easy reading and lead the reader through the book. "The Mark" brings some old characters back into play, which is a new twist for this series. Good read either way.
Rating: Summary: Ho Hum Review: I loved the first six books in this series, but book seven was slow and The Mark was positively Ho Hum. In fact I only read half of it and put it down. I realized I no longer care about the characters and any good discussion of the book of Revelation and its meaning is either not there anymore or in the second half of the book. I'm way to busy for this to drag on forever.
Rating: Summary: Easy to see why some will line up to take the MARK! Review: While I was a little disapointed that the book at times covered too little ground, I found that as a work of fiction it continues to help me seek out Biblical truth concerning end times revelations. Spending more time in my Bible builds my faith in Christ. Please read the negative reviews by the folks who read (?) the Mark, as their comments are also important to help one see the whole picture. Negative comments allow me to see the other side of the spiritual battle and prove to me the high level of unbelief that waits for the antichrist to convert. Imagine someone using these reviews to attack Reagan or remind us that abortion is ok. Geez folks, instead of attacking Christians on a book review page, get a life. It seems rather intolerant of you tolerant folks to waste time here. But its all political, right? For people who want a good read that might just open your minds to something new, get this series and enjoy. Use the library if you don't want to 'enrich the authors' as one critic put it, but if you get something out of it, share it with a friend. Thanks.
Rating: Summary: Let God Be True and Every Man A lier Review: I have eagerly waited for each book in the series to come out, and with each editon I have been more and more excited about what is happening. Although this is Christian fiction it is baiced on Scripture, all you have to do is open your eyes and your heart to what is happening in the world today and you can't help but see that nothing is happening without the will of the Lord. For the people who refuse to see that the word of God is true and all men are lieres, satin has blinded their eyes and they will never see the truth. These series of books are for you. Things may or may not happen in real life just the way there are protraided in the books but close enough as they say for goverment work. I sencerly pray that everyone that is not already a Christian shearch their hearts and fine the Love of Jesus Christ and turn to him and to the ones that are Christians I pray that the Lord strengths you by his Grace and Mercy. These series of books are insightful and entertaining and I hope also educational for the ones that are left behind becouse there will be some and like the book says it is a one time choice either you are for the Lord or against him, the chioce is yours make it the right one.
