Summary: Abridged Audio Version: Disappointing
Review: My husband and I first read aloud Left Behind and then began buying the audio abridged version because it's a neat way to do something together. We're both Christians and find the background material for the novels extremely interesting. But we've noticed that with each novel, the action keeps getting more and more drawn out. After Left Behind and Tribulation Force, approximately one big event happens per novel. In The Mark audio version, we have been the most disappointed. After seven novels of following Hattie's misadventures, approximately two minutes were spent in describing her eventual conversion. And that's just one example! I think that the developers would be able to condense all eventual novels into about five and do a better job!

Summary: BEGINNING TO MOVE A LITTLE SLOW FOR A SECOND TIME
Review: Book #8 was better than Indwelling and I read The Mark in record time. The bottom line is the book was just like Book #7 far slower but The Mark (#8) has it moments. I wish the story would have moved a little faster. The authors have a gold mine, but they are pushing it a little to make 12 Book Series. These last two installments, #7 and #8, seems to run out of gas. Do not get me wrong,I was among the first to buy this installment, and I do enjoy the series, but these books are gripping because of the suspense, not always because of a great writing ability or plot. On the other hand,I must also say, Jenkins and Lahaye, that, there has not been alothappening in all of these 381 pages. Suspense with cliffhangers and character development should be explored for the next installment. The character named Annie for instance could have been expanded in her development, but it was not. I will certainly read the nextinstallment, but give me something for those next 381...plus pages.

Summary: Scripture based but 2 dimensional
Review: Face it, the only 2 reasons to read this book are that you've already read the previous books in the series, or you are interested in one possible future in the time of the Book of Revelations. I own up to both.

Unfortunately, the authors have for several books now dropped their character development and vivid descriptions of the sets, places, and events in their books beyond the barest minimum necessary to get to the next evangelical episode. As the old saying goes, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, I would have hoped the descriptions of the ruins of Chicago, the smells and sounds of Babylon after the Indwelling resurrection, and the emotional trauma of facing the death of a central characters beloved girlfriend would have generated a few more words and effort to attract some human emotions to this series.

I hope the authors understand this message and bring the remaining books up to the level that the spiritual understanding has continued to be at.

Summary: Truly inspirational
Review: My father and i started listening to these books on book on tape about 4 years ago and let me tell you these tapes have encouraged and enriched my life. This is the eighth installment about the life of a band of Christians who come together after the second coming of Jesus Christ. In my opinion this is one of the best , it has non stop action and Biblical correctness to back it. I truly encourage anyone who reads this yo read this book.

Summary: The Mark
Review: First of all, I have read all the previous books in this series. I give them all a rating of "5 stars."

The Mark was absolutely incredible. My only complaint is that the next edition is not coming soon enough.

I will be waiting with GREAT anticipation!

Summary: The saga continues.....good read
Review: While "The Mark" had more individual story lines, the authors successfully introduced several new characters to this incredible saga. It defnitely sets up the next book in the series, it vividly portrayed some of the incredibly poignant and troubling scenes from the final days. While maybe not as truly exciting as some of the ealier books, it's definitely worth the read. (much like earlier books - hazardous to your sleep level!!)

Summary: Stuck in a time warp
Review: This book, all 400 hundred pages, was by far the worst written of the series. The authors are dragging out the series with long detailed, boring "fillers". They know they have us hooked and are trying to gain profit, instead of the true meaning of what the series is supposed to be about. I enjoyed the other 7, but this one was awful. Of course we have to wait another 8 months for the 9th book, and of course I will read it, I am hooked. Also don't buy the video "Left Behind". Although the 1st book was great, the video was just as bad as "The Mark"

Summary: Best one yet - But let's get it over with!
Review: "The Mark" has to be the best book in the series yet. There was a lot of insight and teaching in the book that my soul was hungry for. "The Indwelling" left me wondering whether to buy the next book, but I'm glad I did. The timeline hasn't advanced much, but a lot has been happening since Nicolae became indwelt by Satan. The true "nature of the beast" is skillfully revealed. The accounts of the believers at the guillotines had me crying. I was way ahead of David in figuring out what was happening with Chang, but I think this character could be a good addition to the Force. I did not give the book a 5-star review because of the ending. It would have been better timed later on in the story - here it just seemed to stop. Also, like most of the other reviewers I've read, I'm getting tired of having the story extended for no reason. C'mon guys,it's great, but let's finish it BEFORE the tribulation starts!

Summary: reader
Review: I want to help all you people out there with a problem. Its not a problem of money or power its a problem of faith. You're too faithful. Put your trust in god yes. Donate money to a church yes. But don't read a book merely for its biblical value. This series is a good series. I don't believe in god(nor will I ever) but I think you need to realize these books are very well written, they come to a good point, and they tell the most fascinating human story, the end of the world. So read the books as they're meant to be read. Don't come here and blast religion at the top of your lungs, you don't need faith to read a good story. That is the truth can you live with it and not preach your "good intentions".
