Rating: Summary: right wing cliches Review: I read this and sure enough found the typical right wing cliches of the New World Order, one world gov't, Masonic/Jewish conspiracy, etc etc. This is a great book for those who live in bunkers and believe in black helicoptors and only get their news from talk radio.
Rating: Summary: Each new book in this series is faith renewing. Review: Book number eight in the "Left Behind" series will not disappoint, and will leave readers anxiously awaiting book number 9. In "The Mark", the beast truly rules now and the Tribulation Force has it's work cut out for it now more than ever. There are many twists, and several surprises that will delight the reader. There are also many sad turning points. I read the book avidly in three days, absorbing the plot, getting to know all the characters again, and rooting for the good guys. I was left with only one thought : "Hurry up with the next book!"
Rating: Summary: TWO MANY WORDS NOT ENOUGH SAID Review: I THOUGH THE BOOK DRAGGED ON AND ON WITH OUT GETTING INTO THE STORY NOT AT ALL THE QUALITY OF PREVIOUS BOOKS. ARE THEY JUST SELLING BOOKS OR TRYING TO GET A MESSAGE ACROSS? I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT THEY WERE STAYING CLOSE TO SCRIPTURES IF YOU ARE A PRE TRIB BELIEVER, BUT NOW THERE ARE TWO MANY THINGS THEY ARE TAKING LIBERTY WITH. CAN'T FIND WHERE YOU CAN SERVE TWO MASTERS.
Rating: Summary: Not A Bad Book Review: This book starts out slow and with the same theme as the other Left Behind books - Somebody is missing and they cannot find them. However, after the story gets past that part it really picks up and makes for an enjoyable book.
Rating: Summary: I liked this one! Review: I started to read Left Behind several months ago, and unlike most reviewers, I didn't like it. I kept picking it up and putting it down nut it just didn't appeal to me.I picked up The Mark and I was pleasantly surprised. It's much better than I had hoped. It is interesting. It is a quick paced book. It has elements of a good spy novel, and it kept me turning the pages. I read the book in two days. (My family shared in the reading as it was easy to read aloud.) I approached reading The Mark as a "last ditch" attempt to get into the Left Behind series. I must admit, I think I might go back and read some of the other books. If they are as good as The Mark I will be pleased. The Mark is highly enjoyable reading.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful, glorious, riveting, and haunting Review: What a great book!! The part where the devil comes to earth and kills everybody is the greatest literary moment of our time (rivaling Hamlet and Macbeth). I also liked the part where the Trib force hires out a cat and dog to spy on lucifer and lead the Christian soldiers to pay dirt. That particular scene still haunts me today, it changed my life from a die hard hippy athiest to a God fearing Christian soldier ready to do battle. People lucifer is upon us, put down your pencils and paper and pick up a gun and defend your right to worship Jesus. Get rid of the people who don't believe like we do and start living right. The last part of the book was the best part since, probably Indwelling's last part. It said, "The devil, Nicolae, is here ready to rule - but the lords will be done and God help us all." Powerful beyond words!! I loved this book!!
Rating: Summary: Still a good series but.......... Review: I first heard about this series of books when I saw Jenkins and LaHaye on Larry King Live earlier this year. (I know, where have I been.) So I had the advantage of reading the first 7 books in short succession. Suspensful, especially at the end of each book. Not at the end of The Mark, however. Except for the beginning, it was ho hum all the way and made little progress toward the "Tribulation". The authors turned out one book a year until The Mark which was published 6 months after the 7th. Seems that more time is needed and maybe the publisher should ease up on the new 6 month request. Of course, in order to enjoy this story one must dismiss the details of how they can get the food to survive, the fuel to jet all over the world, the maintenance on the aircraft and the electricity in the safe houses. Who pays the cell phone bills??? I say, forget the details and enjoy the story. After all it's only fiction based on an intriguing premise. I have a good feeling the next book will be the best yet! I'm in for the dozen.
Rating: Summary: Seemed like filler to me. Review: Though I have enjoyed the series so far, this book seemed like filler, just something to put out there. Maybe the next book will be more exciting.
Rating: Summary: This is for CHRIS , the pastor Review: THANK YOU..THANK YOU...just for agreeing that these books, while I have no doubt are well intentioned, are blatently poorly written, lack depth..black and white, Saturday cartoonish in their problem solving---I have read "Christ Clone Trilogy"..they were good...enjoyed very much....I've read all the Left Behind..I"m a Christian..and I wish the writers would step up to the plate and write....I cannot recommend these...and I'll try "We all fall Down"...
Rating: Summary: Are People Crazy? Review: I am really wondering about some people i started reading the left behind books because of a tabliod actually they were running segments from the frist book and I got hooked i have read everyone of the books and have been on the edge of my seat, I can not wait till the next one comes out.As for the people that thought the movie was no good you have got to be kidding just because a movie does not have F this and f that after ever word ans sex golre through out the movie does not mean it is not a good movie. To anyone who may read this I truly recommend both the movie and the books because there both are amazing and very enertaing. They will keep you glued to them.
