Rating: Summary: WORST OF THE EIGHT AND STILL NOT BAD Review: MUCH TO MY DISSAPOINTMENT AFTER WAITING 5 MONTHS FOR IT TO COME OUT IT DID NOT MEET MY EXPECTATIONS SO THEREFORE I THOUGHT IT WAS WEAK. ASSSAINS IS BY FAR THE BEST OF THE SERIES AND THIS BOOK IS NO COMPARISON
Rating: Summary: You can see it actually happening! Review: These books are great for the person that wants to get an easy understanding of Revelations. The one that has never been "churched". Revelation is hard enough to understand already, so to have books that put it in a way that you can truly see it coming to pass in the world we live in is truly exciting. I know people that have read these books that are not Christians and have made an impact on their whole thinking of "religion". I'm glad that La Haye and Jenkins write in a way that is simple not too deep so all can enjoy the read.
Rating: Summary: When? Times a wasting Review: When will it happen? I can't wait much longer!! I bought all these stinking books hoping to prepare myself for the end of days, and it is not happening yet. I began to read this series because I really believed the end was near and these books were a way to thumb my nose at all the non-believers who scoff at the rapture. Now it looks like I have egg on my face, because they are already on the 8th book with no end to the world in sight. I invested a lot of energy on this rapture crap and now it looks like I am going to be made a fool. What if it doesn't happen at all, what if the world just keeps on churning around the cosmos with no holy war, no antichrist, no rapture? I know - humans will overpopulate the world, destroy the atmosphere, and sell out to corporate sponsors and the almight dollar and do it under the guise of responsible government and citizenship. Then all of us bible thumpers can say it was Gods will and our self-fullfilling prophecy will come true after all. Tim and Jerry, you guys need to incorporate global catastrophies and greedy money grubbers into one of your next 10 installments to this book
Rating: Summary: I am looking forward to the next book !! Review: I have really enjoyed the first books in the left behind series, so I came into this book expecting a lot. I was very excited about the headquarters location change, but was a little disappointed that the entry into the building was not explained clearly. Book eight is not as exciting as the last book, but it will still keep you on the edge of you seat most of the time. Like the rest of the books, the ending is abrupt, and leaves you hanging. I look forward the next book, and hope that it will be a little more exciting.
Rating: Summary: Believers resist the Mark Review: In the latest installment of the Left Behind series, Carpathian has come back to life and is insisting that all people receive his mark. The believers resist and there are several martyrs among them who lose their lives to the guillotines which Carpathian imports for just that purpose. There is one significant convert in this book and the action seems a bit crisper and clearer than in the previous two books. This book is clearly a transition to the time when the Tribulation Force will be dispersed to gather new believers to thwart Carpathian's plans before they disappear so they are not forced to accept the Mark of Satan. Hopefully, the remaining 3 years of the Tribulation will not require 8 more books!
Rating: Summary: It's Fiction, Read your Bible for the Truth Review: I have read The Mark, and all the previous books, and I amdisturbed by them. I pray that people are not using these as gospelfor becoming a Christian. I was not a Christian when I startedreading the Left Behind series. My knowledge of how a person was tobecome a Christian was limited. So, I bought into the way Left Behindpresented it by doing the "sinner's prayer". Fortunately, Ididn't stop with Left Behind and learned the true way that a person isto become a Christian. I think if anyone really studies the Bibleabout end-time scripture they will find that the millennialist view isnot supported. Of course, a person can falsely interpret the Bible sothat it conforms to their view. The Bible is perfect and God-inspired(2 Timothy 3:16). And, if a doctrine conflicts with the Bible in anyway then it is not sound and should be discarded. A person'ssalvation is too important to take lightly. Left Behind has distorted/eliminated many conceptsthat the Bible teaches. All of the practices of a Christian comesfrom the Bible and were established by Jesus Christ and hisGod-inspired apostles. Where in the Bible is it demonstrated thatsomeone is saved by saying a "sinner's prayer"? Why isrepentance never mentioned? Why is no one baptized when Jesus clearlystates that it is required? How can someone be born again, if theperson hasn't died and been buried? Which is what baptismrepresents. Why is Revelation taken so literally when it is obviouslyfigurative? The list is endless but I will not go into ithere. Left Behind is not a well-written series. A better storycould have been told in four books instead of the currentwide-margined, double-spaced, filler, cash-cow twelve books. I wouldnot use it as a witnessing tool and would warn anyone about it beforereading it. My job as a Christian is tell people the whole truthabout the gospel of Jesus Christ, not just the incorrectly interpretedend. If you read Left Behind, read it and KNOW that it is fiction anda distorted interpretation of end-time prophecy. If you want gospeltruth, read your Bible. END
Rating: Summary: Time to Head For The Hills Trib-Force!! Review: We knew it would come sooner or later for the brave folks of the Tribulation Force. There was no way this amazing group of Christian insiders could continue to elude N.C's notice. without getting too deep into this very good plot, I can say you will be on the edge of your seat in many places. Surprises appear in unlikely places and from unrelated twists. As and aside I will say that many years ago I read a book called 666 by a gentleman named Salem Kirban. The Mark has inspired me to try and locate this volume to re-read. To readers of the great series of works by J.Jenkins and T. LaHaye also check out THE BEGINNING OF SORROWS and FALLEN STARS,BITTER WATERS by Gilbert Morris. Along with similar works recommended by other reviewers,I think that any "End-Of-Times" library will be up to date.
Rating: Summary: Very dank - a cool set of nugz for the mind Review: Whoa dude, this is some pretty trippy stuff. Lucifer is the bomb with an attitude. This is the more on the level than indwelling ever hoped to be. Chill out with a soda and some popcorn and grooooove to the cool jives of this here masterpiece. Peace out brothers - later
Rating: Summary: The worst of the eight Review: Except for missionaries hoping to convert others, there is little to recommend this series of bang-you-over-the-head-with-Fundamentalism novels. Nothing wrong with sermonizing, if that's what you're looking for. But if you're hoping for a little more engaging and spiritually challenging read, this isn't it. Probably the best End Times novel ever written is Kleier's epic, THE LAST DAY (Warner Books). It not only offers a realistic, provocative (and frightening) look at how the religious world might react to Judgment Day, but it does so with extraordinary intelligence, suspense and grip-you-by-the-soul thrills. I will finish this series only because I want to see if the authors have it in them to find some unusually noteworthy way to end all this. I can't imagine an ending to rival the one in LAST DAY. Jenkins and LeHaye should have read LAST DAY before attempting this topic, maybe it would have motivated them to raise the quality of their writing. Let's hope the final installment of LEFT BEHIND isn't as predictable as the rest of the series has been.
Rating: Summary: Judge not less he be judged Review: I can't see why people have issues with The Mark. While it may not be as action packed as Soul Harvest, it is well written and is a serious stepping stone and builder for the next book that will come out in the series. Just because Buck doesn't save everyone by the skin of his teeth throughout this book, doesn't mean it's all that bad. Remember that there is always a peace before the storm. Enjoy it while you can.
