Review: Just past the second chapter this book kicks into high gear and doesn't slow down. A fast-paced historical novel, informative without being dry or academic. Mr. Swatek would have been well served by a niggling proofreader, but it doesn't take away from his first-rate writing, or his ability to create vivid scenes and write evocative dialogue. Essential reading for anyone familiar with the infamous Ada lynching or interested in Oklahoma history.
