Summary: A Venezuelan masterpiece
Review: As a Venezuelan, we were educated reading this book as part of our culture and our lives. It is a good opportunity for the new generation of venezuelans growing in the USA, to have the opportunity to get this book from Amazon.com. It is also good for English speaking people trying to learn our language to be able to read this wonderful book. It pictures how we leaved in the early '80 and '90s. And how rich the language and culture can be. I hope everyone can enjoyed. Romulo Gallegos was a great writer and a good President.

Summary: Rómulo perfecto
Review: exelente, refrescante y muy intensa que nos lleva a un punto donde la acción ya es denasiaso y los personajes nos llevan a un punto de climax total.

Summary: GOOD STUFF
Review: This book was assigned reading for a Hispanic culture class I'm taking. I read the English translation, and I actually kind of enjoyed it. Gallegos has written a very interesting commentary on life at that time in Venezuela. Santos was probably my favorite character, next to Dona Barbara, of course! I would recommend it to anybody who would be interested in learning more about ranch life in Venezuela or who just wants to read a good book.
