Summary: This Book DESERVES to be a movie.
Review: I am currently adapting FUEL INJECTED DREAMS into screenplay form and I must say that it is the most challenging venture of my life. I love this book more than any I have read in the last ten years and must say that I am truly blessed to be in the position that I am in at this moment. Sadly, author James Robert Baker is no longer with us but I can only hope to do his incredible novel the justice it deserves. By all means, if you can find it, FIND IT! You won't be sorry. Hopefully, a reprinting of the book will come about upon release of the film.

Summary: Pure Brain Candy
Review: I found the uncorrected proofs of this book in a trash can in a closet at Rolling Stone Magazine when I worked there in the early 80s. Don't know what happened to it...I guess it went the way of all the rest of the 80s, but it remains my favorite book of all time. The sarcasm, the hilarious humor, the descriptions, and the completely bizarre ending, beyond even my wildest imagination, makes it an entertaining and very unusual read. I have had a few copies over the years and have lent them out and never once gotten a copy back (people really like this book), so I now have one copy and am quite protective of it. I totally and without reservation recommend this book to anyone with a sense of humor and a mildly-to-severely twisted mind.

Summary: Well worth stealing (?)
Review: I think you fans of this novel will be pleasantly surprised by the film adaptation. Just to keep you informed, we're currently in active development and are looking towards a start date very soon.

Summary: The best book ever!
Review: I thought this was the best book ever! Just reading the first page, then the next...standing in the bookstore. I love the sarcasm, the sex, the detailed descriptions. I was laughing out loud! I could picture everything he was talking about, it was very vivid. I just can't find anything that could compare to it. Nothing. I need to find a book with twisting personalities. More sick and disturbubed people. With some sane ones on the side, all with humor. I need more raunch, honesty, sex, sarcasm, dark sides, lies, swearing, a total twist at the end...I miss this author, he did it for me. Let me know if there is another book for me, that comes close to this one.

Summary: Always on my mind
Review: I visited Rhodes together with a friend in the eighties, and bought a couple of paperbacks, one of which was "Fuel-Injected Dreams." I didn't catch on to it right away, and read it straight through only when I got back home, and that wasn't the last time I read it, and I lent the book to a friend, and we both agree that it is a stunner. So much happens in the book that it's impossible to remember every amazing turn of event if you read the book, say, every two years. The book really gets your adrenaline flowing, and "Adrenaline" happens to be the title of another of Jim's novels. "Dreams" is an equilibristic tour de force, and James Robert Baker was the man who dreamed the novel for us, and I will always love him for doing so, may he rest in peace.

Summary: A breath-taking whirlwind of a novel!
Review: I was delighted to finally get a copy of this book and I read it in one sitting. Boy Wonder is one of my favorite books, and F-ID is just as good. JRB was one of the greats, no one else wrote with such a sensual and hyperactive energy, he is sorely missed.

Summary: Pure Brain Candy
Review: Somehow I found a copy of this book sitting on my parent's coffee table. I picked it up and read it at the tender age of 13. I have never let it leave my side since. This book is pure brain candy. The storyline is absolutely thrilling, the characters are well thought out, and the suspense is incredible. I certainly wouldn't call it "modern literature" but it rates in the same category as "Bright Lights Big City" and "Story of My Life".

Summary: FUEL-INJECTED DREAMS, quite simply, ROCKS!
Review: There isn't much to say except FIND THIS BOOK! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED! I really don't even want to tell you anything about it, as the surprises within might be diminished. Suffice it to say, this may be the most underrated, underread book of the 1980's. Find this book. Read it. Trust me, it's worth the effort. James Robert Baker deserves to be knighted for this work.
