Rating: Summary: Love the Seattle flare! Review: Eve Garrett was known in the court room as the very conservitive attorney. She is widowed and a single mother of a teenage son. She takes her job and life very seriously after the freak accident of loosing her husband. Eve puts all her effort in her job and in raising her son, so when she is introduced to her new dominoe partner she knows that her best friend is up to something.Noah knows the rumors about him. He is at a point in his life were he wants to settle down. When he is introduced to Eve he is attracted instantly. He believes that Eve could be the person that he could marry. I truly love this story. The dialogue was REAL. The blossoming relationship of Noah and Eve was very believable. Eve had to forgive herself for something that she had no control over. And also not believe in everything that she heard. Noah has to break down all of Eve's barriers to show her the real him. I loved how the author potrays good relationships between all of the characters. Each person has a key part on the story. So I highly recommend this very enjoyable book.
Rating: Summary: JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED Review: Eve's Prescription by Edwina Martin-Arnold is a story of redemptive love and self renewal. In Eve's Prescription, the heroine, Eve Garrett, is a hard nosed prosecutor who has been dubbed the "Ice Princess" by her colleagues because of her stern work ethic and her avoidance of all matters intimate. Eve is a widow who has committed herself to her only son and her profession since the tragic accident that claimed the life of her beloved husband. She has harbored guilt and anger for the six years since her husband's death. Eve's unwillingness to acknowledge those emotions prevent her from entertaining the idea of a new relationship. As a result, Eve lives a martyred existence, as a long suffering widow and devoted mother. She wears her wedding ring like a uniform and as a testament of her devotion to her late husband. Eve is comfortable with this existence until she meets the alluring and sexy Noah Russell, a fire fighter with a reputation for being a ladies man; then she begins to question her lifestyle. Eve's Prescription is a saucy tale of boy meets girl with some of life's difficulties mixed in to make the story interesting. There is a delightful cast of characters in the story which make the book easy to read. From Eve's mother, Beulah, to her best friend Ebony, there is bound to be someone in the book for readers to identify with. The love scenes, which are sensual and magical, will change readers view of a firefighter from someone who extinguishes fires to someone who ignites them. Eve's Prescription is a quick and pleasurable read. Readers who are looking for entertainment and romance are sure to enjoy. Reviewed by Diane Marbury (HonestD).
Rating: Summary: Well-written and Entertaining! Review: Eve's Prescription is a well-written and entertaining romance debut novel from Edwina Martin Arnold. On their way to a romanctic rendezvous, Eve and her husband, Todd, have a tragic car accident. Todd is successful in saving Eve; however, he succumbs and loses his own life. Since that tragic incidence, 4 years ago, Eve has closed off all sexual, intimate, and sensuous feelings for another man. Instead she spends her time practicing law during the day as a Prosecuting Attorney and the evenings are spent with her elderly, live-in mom, Beulah and her 14-year old son, Sean. Her friends, Ebony and Yoshi, worry about her and they are forever playing matchmaker but to no avail because Eve is simply not interested in another man. After all she has the memories of 14 years to a wonderful man. But, Ebony still tries and one evening at their weekly domino game, Ebony introduces Eve to Noah... the passionate, sensual, attractive, red, hot, firefighter. Sparks fly when Eve meets Noah but she's not ready to give in to her physical nature, after all, she was in a loving marriage for 14 years and Noah is several years her junior and has a reputation of being a lady's man. Noah has had more than his share of women but none of them have touched the essence of his soul like the attractive and intelligent Eve. Noah is on a mission to get to know Eve better, however, his reputation has preceded him and Eve doesn't desire to be another notch on his belt buckle. But unbeknownst to Eve is the real Noah. The Noah that few women ever really get a chance to see primarily because they don't seek him for those qualities-he's strong, intelligent, supportive, gentle, decisive and a positive role model that other brothas could take some pointers from. Will Eve let down her guard and open up her heart to Noah? But, oh, while, Eve is debating and being difficult, will another woman primarily in the form of another woman/hoochie mama named Ms. Regina just waltz in and waltz off on a white horse with Noah? Eve's Prescriptions combines sexual tension, rich character and relationship development to make for a very good romantic genre storyline. This is a book that romance and non-romance readers alike can enjoy. Edwina Martin Arnold has a strong debut and a promising career as a romance writer.

Rating: Summary: Fantastic!!! Review: Eve's Prescription was such an interesting book for me to read. I could basically relate to this book because I have experienced some of the same similiarities as the heroine, Eve Garrett. Eve, was a young widow, left to raise a teenage son and had been married for 14 years. I was also faced with that same situation, so my reading of this book hit home for me. I have to say this to anyone reading this review, that women who are faced with life after losing their husbands all of us deal with this part of life so differently. It's like taking a major class that is required for everyone before they can graduate from school, we all have to take the class but we all may deal with the subject different. Eve, buried her romantic feelings with her husband, not allowing anyone to break down her wall. Now, I know this is a book for all of us to read but I'm going a step further to let those who have been faced with being a widow, that the author provides an excellent illustration with this book for us to take a good long look at ourselves. The one thing I learned with losing your spouse, is the fact I had no control over this decision in life but I knew I had to move on as hard as it was. But its books like this, for the most part, if you allow yourself to be healed, read it and allow it to show you how to love again. Whatever one's belief system is, allow the power to let love come into your heart. This is what Eve is faced with as she comes into contact with Noah, the wonderful hero who happens to be younger and he is a fireman... and boy does he light up some sparks with Eve..My, My, My!!! I strongly recommend reading this book, it's what I call an All-Nighter, I love both the hero and the heroine, I love the additional characters, who enhance this story even more: Ebony, Yoshi, Dina, Beulah and Sean and last the initimate scenes in this book are HOT! HOT! HOT! Oh, and every now and then there is the one you can't stand...her name is Regina! So let's sum this up, this book is an easy read, an all-nighter, the hero and heroine have been added to my favorite list, real life issues and favorite steamy romance scenes. Any to all my sisters out there who have been faced with the loss of your husband, take it from someone who is still dealing with it, read this story, if nothing else it gives you hope that you never know when God will send you another chance at love. The hardest part of this all is letting go and that's not easy, as you'll see with Eve, but if you trust in the higher force, he will bring you through it all. Edwina, thanks for this story, Eve's Prescription, job well-done!!
Rating: Summary: Great ethnic romance Review: Four years ago, somehow her spouse lost control and drove their car into the river. Todd managed to get Eve Garrett to safe ground, but failed to make it. Stunned by what happened, Eve became a widow raising a ten-year-old boy by herself. For the past two years, her neighbor Ebony has tried to find a man for Eve with no success. At their weekly domino game, Ebony introduces Eve to a new partner, fire fighter Noah Russell. To her shock, Eve reacts to a male for the first time since Todd died, but she knows that Noah is wrong for her as he is younger and the stud of the moment that every woman in town wants. Noah knows that he feels good whenever he is with Eve and her son, but he has his work cut out if he is to overcome her reluctance to have a man in their lives even if love cements the relationships. EVE'S PRESCRIPTION is an entertaining second chance at love ethnic romance. The story line is interesting because the secondary cast lightens the tale even though they are quite serious when it comes to caring for Eve. Noah may be a pinup in the women's locker room, but his compassionate side makes him more than a hunk of beef. Eve is complex as she struggles between guilt and her first reaction to a man since the death of Todd. Edwina Martin-Arnold makes a strong debut with a wonderful drama. Harriet Klausner
Rating: Summary: Exciting, Thrilling, Maddening Review: I loved the romance, how it started and grew. I loved the little witch Regina (who just wanted me to hate her). Once I started I could not put it down! Romance that was just that! Excellant Job on your first book Edwina Martin-Arnold, I will be there in line for your next..
Rating: Summary: Good Medicine Review: Noah was definitely the kind of medicine my girl Eve needed. His reputation almost kept Eve from realizing how good it feels to get well. I dont know with a man like Noah sick in bed might not be so bad.
Rating: Summary: ...Medicine Man... Review: This book was hot!!! Calendar sexy and ultra fine firefighter Noah Russell's great looks and perfect abs belied the true nature of the man. Eve Garrett is a successful attorney, beautiful, widowed, with a teenage son. When Eve and Noah meet at mutual friends Ebony and Yoshi's, it is instant combustion, they are to partner for dominos but it is clear that Noah wants more than a casual partnership. Struggling with intense emotions she never experienced before, not even with her late husband, Eve is torn. Aware of Noah's reputation she still can't help but want a sample of the forbidden fruit. Noah wants Eve to see the person he is, not his Mr December or Dr Feelgood image so after a tender moment shared between them he is looking forward to something more when his hopes are dashed by Eve's demand of secrecy. Noah wants Eve in his life but at what cost? his pride is on the line will he let it suffer just to have her? If she only gave him half the chance he would show her what he could be in her life. Eve almost let age and unresolved feelings keep her from finding healing in "good medicine". Indigo books are a little spicy if thats your taste, hats off to Edwina great first effort.
