Review: "TWO THUMBS UP!!!!!!! Your book was a page turner! I could not put it down. The book had so much suspense that I could not put it down. Your book was GREAT! I hope you keep your style. I was able to connect with the characters and follow them as if I knew them. Some of the events surprised even me . . who always think these novels are pretty predictable. The relationships of the main character just kept me on the end of my seat turning pages. I needed to know how she was going to wind up. Again it was GREAT!!

Review: From the first page (where you are wondering what is going to happen),you begin an exciting roller coaster ride. This book is so suspenseful that it causes you to turn the pages faster. The ending was unpredictable and surprising. It was a good read, which I will recommend to everyone.

Review: GOTTA HAVE IT, a dramatic debut novel by Shawna A. Grundy, is chock full of twists and turns that will take the reader on a scandalous literary roller coaster ride. Ashlei Thompson, the main character, has her eyes on the stars. Ashlei's deepest desire is to travel down a new career path that will allow her to not only watch the stars, but be right up there with them! Ashlei steps out on faith and launches her own event planning business. Although she's considered a savvy businesswoman, Ashlei has a penchant for meeting Mr. Wrong. In fact, she participates in several lustful escapades with a host of Mr. Wrongs. In the process, she seems to lose a sense of self while focusing on these twisted, dysfunctional relationships.
Some of her encounters were bordering on the far-fetched, yet the various scenarios piqued with a touch of mystery, will keep you turning the pages. Through her own self-growth and appreciation, will Ashlei be able to rise like a phoenix out of the ashes of her many discarded relationships and soar into a more fulfilling role in her personal and her professional life?
Readers will be caught up in the raw emotions portrayed in GOTTA HAVE IT. Curiosity levels will reach new peaks and leave you wondering "what's next"? Mrs. Grundy is to be commended for a great debut effort.

Review: I am a member of Jonesetry Book Club and this is the book of the month. I picked this book up Friday morning and started reading it on the train on my way to work and I finished it this afternoon during my lunch break. This book was EXCELLENT!!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to those that enjoy a good read. With this being Shawna's first novel, she has definitely become 1 of my favs. There are only 3 other authors that became part of my favs after reading just 1 of their books, Francis Ray, Eric Jerome Dickey & Colin Channer. I am SO ready for the second novel or whatever else is to come from Mrs. Grundy!

Summary: An Addictive Book
Review: I read this book in one day - it has great character development, it is poetic, the images are vivid & most of all, this book has heart - It has stayed with me. The author vividly portrays Ashlei as a woman that we can all relate to, and love. I recommend this book highly to anyone who has girlfriends or anyone who is in a bad (or good!!) relationship. It is also a great spicy beach read, but with so much more.

Summary: Escalated Drama
Review: Shawna Grundy's, Gotta Have It, is compelling and dramatic. The main character, Ashlei Thompson is well equipped when it comes to establishing her career. Unfortunately, she makes some of the same mistakes that most women continue to make...placing greater emphasis on elevating the man and losing sight of her identity. Too often picking a man based primarily on his material worth and what material things he can give her, rather than empowering herself and functioning off her own inner strengths. The man chase was absolutely crazy to some degree. However, as the story climaxes, her actions become somewhat understandable. When you sink deeper into the novel and touch base on what her issues really are, you can't help but feel for Ashlei. Kudos to Shawna for her courageous approach, delving into areas of explicit sexuality and brinking the surface on such delicate issues that exist in our society. This story is told with such boldness, tact and emotions that it's impossible not to find yourself captivated, wanting to know what's going to happen next. I read through this novel finding myself riding high one minute and coming down low the very next and finally, unable to put the book down. It is told with such exuberancy, that it was impossible not to feel a connection to the main character and her dilemmas as they unfolded. Great job! Shawna. What's next?

Review: Talk about captivating!!! This book grabs you in the first chapter and just never lets go! The book is action, adventure, mystery, erotica and poetry all wrapped up into a story of determination and self love. Shawna's main character, Ashlei Thompson is a young lady on the path to success...unfortunately, she feels she needs the company of an "industry man" along that path. For Ashlei, the road to success is paved with bumps, twists and turns that will have you turning the page for more! This book is a fast-paced must read with an ending that makes you say "GOTTA HAVE MORE"!!
