Summary: Smart, Great, Loved It
Review: I love this book! Emily's trials and tribulations are funny, fabulous and told with a lot of heart. Reading this makes me feel a little bit better now that Sex and the City is done with. I hope and pray there will be a sequel!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Well written and entertaining..........
Review: I loved this book! The main character was very believable and easy to relate to. It was easy to get caught up in her life. At the end of the book I was ready for more!

Summary: i loved this book!
Review: I loved this book- I loved Emily- her trials and tribulations are told with such humor and sincerity. She can laugh at herself.... and makes you laugh with her. There is also a lot of heart in this book, and the observations about daily life- her family- her boyfriend- her career, are endearing in their honesty. Emily is my new friend- and I hope to hear more from her! there will be a sequel, right?

Summary: Perfect Airplane Read...
Review: I picked this book up for a recent flight to Los Angeles and I LOVED IT! Could not put it down. Ms. Briggs is realistically drawn, and as a young single woman, I definitely connected with her story... funny, realistic, moving and beautifully written.

I could definitely see it as a movie -- but which lucky ingenue will get to play the heroine? Too bad Audrey Hepburn is no longer with us.

I am giving copies to all my friends...

Summary: Ugh--selfish spoiled brat
Review: I thought this book was horrible. I couldn't relate to the character, who was a wasteful (buys food to smell it and throw it away?) spoiled brat (she even refers to herself as "bratty Emily" several times). The most interesting characters, such as her little brother, were hardly developed. And the book was full of mistakes! If I spend that much for a book, I expect it to be proofed by a human, not just by a spell check. I got rid of the book as soon as I finished it, so I don't remember the examples specifically, but I'm pretty sure one was "garbage disposable" for "disposal" (or some other real word in place of "disposal.") And there were many other such. Even if the book had been spellbinding, that kind of mistake is always jarring and interrupts the flow. I read it almost a year ago and I'm still disgusted...with the character and with myself for wasting the time.

Summary: The FABULOUS Fabulous Emily Briggs
Review: It's eerie how much I have in common with Emily. My friends think I'm a huge dork because I highlighted funny parts to read, encouraging them to get this book. Ie: "I hit play (on the answering machine) and began to strip(but trust me, it was hardly sexy. In fact it was quite spastic and would turn off a shipwrecked porn addict.)" And for the record, I don't ever highlight books for pleasure!
Emily's thoughts and analogies are brilliant. Familiar references to Uggs, MaryKate and Ashley, page 6, Searle, Sushi addictions, and mass quantities of Tasti Delite, will spark any trendy girl's interest who's in-the-know, with a great sense of witty humor. It truly is a must read.

Summary: Well written and entertaining..........
Review: The Fabulous Emily Briggs could be considered a benchmark book for anyone interested in understanding what single life in the city is really like. It has style, class and the best part is that it is realistic. I don't have to wonder if I am truly the only one who does not own a pair of Manola Blahniks. The author laces the story with humor and wonderful characterization. This book presents the main character with independence, combined with a hint of insecurity. This lends itself to a particularly charming characterization. Whether you are sitting on a beach or getting thru a dreadful winter this book will pass the time in a most enjoyable way. I would also recommend it as a graduation gift, to any "young deb" who is ready to venture out into the cosmopolitan world. It will not only prepare her, but will excite her.
