Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Carl Weber has done it again... Review: I didn't think his books could any better but boy was I wrong. This book had me hooked from beginning to the very last page. I couldn't put it down. The characters were so well written that it could be a movie. I definitely recommend this book to any reader who really enjoys a book with diverse characters and stories. Trust me when I tell you that all the stories lead right back to one main story. You'll be shocked, surprised and ultimately satisfied with the outcome.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Preach on, Mr. Weber!!!!! Review: I loved it. This book is a masterpiece. Keep bringing them, Mr. Weber. Your books fill my nights with laughter, shock, and humility.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Pretty good Review: I read this book rather quickly, plain and simple, it was good but could have been better. I think his previous works were much better. 8 on a scale from 1 - 10. Mom's "tongue" and attitude during most of the book left much to be desired.
I enjoyed each of his other books immensely and look forward to those to come!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Aww LAWD!!! (no pun intended =) ) Review: I've gotta admit that I had high expectations when I got this book. Carl Webber hit this one outta the park! I expected a few possible twists, but he was knocking my OVER with the curve balls in this book! It's a well-written, fast-moving story with highly engaging characters...it's a true one-day read!! If you like to scream and laugh out loud when you read good fiction, then this book is for you! Enjoy!

Carl Weber/The Preacher's Son
I have never read a Carl Weber book before, because I never liked his ghetto/sexist book covers, but my friend at work gave me this book for a gift and I gotz to say out loud: I LOVED IT!
There is not only some really believable characters in here (some of them hit TOO CLOSE to home) and what I really appreciated was Weber's showcasing of how just because someone is sinful or makes a mistake, it doesn't rule them out from being a true christian and a person who loves God and belongs to Christ. That's a message that we all can heed.
I recommend this book as well as AFTERBURN by ZANE. Both are really fantastic novels if you want good escapism with a heavy message and some good writing that's just a cut above POP FICTION.
THE HONEYWELL too!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Bow down Review: This dude has yet to disappoint me. He sets his readers up for a predictable plot and totally flips it on us, from beginning to end. I love the way he does it too! His books always have a serious underlying meaning but are so well-covered with humor and intelligence that it makes me want to hand him the crown as my favorite author (Langston Hughes is still holding it though).
This book is about a young man who wants to be a lawyer but is pressured by his overwhelmingly bossy mother into going to divinity school. In addition to him, we get a potential hoodrat with a heart of gold, a crackhead mother, a fragile young boy, a strong bishop, a crazy-as-hell female member of the church, a heart-on-his-sleeve knucklehead, and a daughter who just wants to live her life without getting played in the process.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: KUDOS for the Preacher's Son!!! Review: This novel is absolutely delicious!! This is Mr. Weber's best work I think to date! I have read all of Mr. Weber's work to date and I think that this is his best! This book deserves to be 10 stars!!!
This is his first novel based on a Christian perspective and I must stay that I was very pleased with how he portrayed Rev. TK Wilson, the First Lady Charlene, the son (Dante) and the daughter (Donna).
Mr. Weber told the Gospel Truth...Christians are imperfect human beings who are capable of doing wrong but we are striving toward the mark of the high calling of Jesus Christ.
I want to say thank you and God bless you for such a pleasurable yet inspirational read! I am looking forward to your next work, You Call Yourself a Man! I am recommending this book to my reading group. Everyone who calls himself/herself a Christian needs to read this book!!!
May God continue to use you as his Vessel!!
A Proud Fan!

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: You Started Something Review: Uh-oh! I got to get down to the nitty gritty on this one. As you can see from my reviews, I rarely give 4 or 5 star reviews. In order to get that high mark, your story has got to be different, unique and unusual. This was an unusual story. Unusual because for a person like Shorty, a hard-type street guy, to turn around and become a member of the clergy, was a different twist. I didn't think he would go out like that until I read how devoted he was to his best friend's sister. Right then and there, I saw how he was turning soft (a woman has the power to do that to a hard man...if she know's what she's doing). So okay, it was kinda written in a "Dick and Jane" type read (sorry Carl); but now no one can accuse the brother of not understanding the storyline. See, I knew there was a reason he wrote it that way (LOL). But I give it a 4 stars on the SmithScale because it was a quick read with a different and unique plot. I like the fact that he brought closure to the story so that we can use our own imagination as to how their lives all turned out. I love church drama novels because they tell the truth and you can learn from them. Good job, Carl.
