Summary: Saw the Movie 21 Grams and had to have it. Glad I did!!,
Review: I saw Sean Penn in 21 Grams reciting a few lines of poetry that really stuck with me:
"The Earth turned to bring us closer,
it spun on itself and within us,
and finally joined us together in this dream..."
Thanks to Sean Penn and the director Gonzalez Inarritu (who did Amores Perros) for including those lines because I have now discovered this really moving Venezuelan poet that I never heard of before: Eugenio Montejo.
I would recommend this book to anybody who likes Latin American poetry, or any new poetry, and the bilingual format means that you can sharpen up your Spanish as well (which is cool for students of the language).
I keep dipping in to this book and every time I do I like it more. Call me a soppy romantic but this Montejo geezer rocks!!
