Summary: Searching for Stardom
Review: GHETTO GIRLS sends readers into the world of four young women struggling to make sense of their lives. Coco, Danielle and Josephine are schoolmates who aspire to become the next group to sign with a major record label. DeeDee, another schoolmate whom they run into, befriends them one night while hanging out "flossing" in her uncle's Benz.

What ensues is nothing but chaos, as the girls are thrown into a whirlwind of events, and pushed into some compromising situations. After these unfortunate events, the group learns that DeeDee is the niece of famous record producer Eric Ascot, and they actually have a chance at making their dream come true.

Eric, being from the streets, has tried to live his life to the fullest raising his niece. Still angry with the authorities for allowing the individuals who murdered his brother to go free, he decides to take matters into his own hands through mutual friends and puts a hit out on the alleged perpetrators.

The events allow the girls to come full circle as they are thrown into volatile situations. They all encounter hurt, shame, guilt and the experience of knowing how it feels to lose someone close to you. Anthony Whyte does a good job of exposing real-life situations and how you never know what's in store for you. Although there were some typographical errors, the storyline flowed smoothly. This is the first of a two-part series, but the story does stand alone. Get ready for part two...

Summary: Just Awful
Review: I dont know what I was thinking when I purchased this book. I usually read the reviews before purchasing, but this one slipped by me. I have yet to get past Chapter 2. It's just not grabbing my attention. I even flipped to the back and the story just does not grab me. The title for this book in my opinion is not fit. Most of us who have read Around the Way Girls, Project Chick, or any other urban book, are fooled by this title, thinking this book is in the same category as them. NOT! Save your money ladies!

Summary: BORING!!!
Review: I've read enough books to know when a book is good and when a book just plain out sucks. I must say the cover was captivating, but being that the author was a man, I expected WAY more than what he gave. The girls in the story to me were not at all Ghetto. I say that this book had very good potential, if the title and plot was given to someone with the talent such as Ms. Souljah, the book would have been all that.

Summary: Save Your Money!!!
Review: The characters in this classic tale of betrayal, murder, and rape is put in the works of ghetto life in NY. Teen girls that want to follow their dreams, but gangbangers are trying to take over the hood. I found this book deals a lot with the hip-hop culture and I as a reader highly recommends it to all readers that love hip-hop drama.

Summary: What's the worst that could happen?
Review: This book is AWFUL! I am an avid reader of hip-hop drama, but this book gets two thumbs down! It was very confusing, and the ghetto slang was terrible! The story line was very hard to follow, and the author at points seemed confused himself. The book lacks a plot, and the title is very misleading. The grammatical errors were a bit much, was it even edited? The book never did tell how old Coco and Da Crew and DeDe were, but I assumed high-school kids! Then it was portrayed Da Crew as straight up gangsta's, but they were dancing ballerina's? They had appeared in videos, yet were doing school competitions? Confusing! Vulcha, Lil Long, Deja and Rightchus, the book confused their roles. Who had the police protection? Who's side was Ricghtchus on? All this is confusing. I wasted money, so as a warning, please don't waste yours! The people that gave this book more than 2 stars, please email and tell me what book were you reading, maybe there are different editions out and I got the bad, unedited one! What's the worst that can happen? Anthony Whyte getting the ok to publish this book or any other for that matter. The worst book I have ever read. We need to start a petition, and demand for our money back, and demand Anthony Whyte gets some serious writing lessons.

Summary: WACK
Review: THis book...well lets just say this book didn't move me at all, see when doing a street novel majority of your target audience is people in the streets. But then you have your readers (I'm a true found reader)so we(T.F.R) look for everything and try to put everything together. This book I trully didn't like, I brought it because when I decided to publish my book(So Look Out), people will supprot me, but there more to it.I want to support Black Print publishing. This didn't represent it at all, it makes the other good author's look bad, yet I've Mr. Whyte mad respect for doing his thing. But I'll support his new book when it comes out, for I hope will be ten times better.

Review: You just might put it back..This book was hard to follow, made no sense..Had illogical schemes..Farfetched plots and had too many things going on..This was a horrid attempt portraying the *ghetto* lifestyle..

I am thanking myself that I got this one from the library..I could not finish it..I had just come off of reading "Around the way girls"..and trust me...it couldn't compare..

Sorry Mr. Whyte, better luck next time.
