Summary: Enlightening
Review: Madsen has an interesting background of abuse, hard times, and a degree in English Literature which makes him qualified to write a book of this nature. The story is introspective and gives insight to the tangled mess created in the mind of a child who experiences and witnesses abuse. As in Dave Pelzer's "A Child Called It," the book is not easy reading, but stretches a person's knowledge of child abuse and its impacts, without having to actually experience it. I believe this is why we read--to live other lives vicariously.

Summary: Inspiration to All
Review: This book is one of the books that you do not want to put down. You want to continue reading it until you find out what is going to happen next. The beginning of it is kind of harsh but has a beautiful ending. It is very inspiring for those who have no hope or know what the future has in store for them. This book has all the emotions in it. One moment your heart will be pounding and the next you will feel joy or sadness. You feel like you are part of this book and can relate to some of it.
