Review: I am originally from Utila, Honduras. My Grandfather, Dempsey Thompson was one of the great storytellers. I heard this story many times as a child and it terrified me. Bill really brought the story to life and in so doing this he really captured the true essense of the island. Well done Bill, I truly enjoyed this book and I am telling everyone about it. Coulden't put it down.

Summary: Great book - excellent historical fiction
Review: I found this book to be an excellent reading. It captured my attention immediately and I could not put it down. The author takes you through each setting and course of emotions for each passenger on the ship. I felt as though I was on the island. I could feel the heat, smell the salt from the sea and feel the pain of each person on the island. The dialect was wonderful. I thought this was an excellent writing for Mr. Jackson's first book.
