Review: Well, let's see. If you think small towns are the heart of America, this is a book for you. If you understand the paradox of wishing to leave a small town hometown while still loving nearly everything about that town, yep, you'll want to try this one. Don't expect any deep exploration of social issues, even though Roxie grows up in the South during the 50s and 60s. Yes, racism and Vietnam are touched on, but with the light touch required by anyone baking a pie. Entertaining and reminiscent, but not overly challenging.
