Rating: 5 stars
Summary: SIX STARS REDUCED TO FIVE FOR POOR EDITING - BRILLIANT!
Review: THE BOOK IS A SLOPPY MESS, AND I HOPE KESHNER IS PICKED UP BY A LARGE, PROFESSIONAL FOR HIS NEXT BOOK, SINCE THESE PEOPLE DO NOT DO HIM JUSTICE.
-THE FLYING, TRAVEL, AND RAW TRUTH GROW STRONGER WITH EACH STORY. I AM ABLE COUNT ON THE FINGERS OF ONE HAND THE NUMBER OF BOOKS THAT I'VE READ IN ONE SITTING ( JAWS, THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA, THE GODFATHER ), THIS "COCKPIT CONFESSIONS" IS THE OTHER ONE!
-I KEEP REOPENING THE BOOK AT RANDOM, AND CONTINUE TO FIND SOMETHING NEW, ALWAYS DAZZLING.
-WISH I COULD BE WITH THESE GUYS...
-I'M THINKING THAT THERE REALLY IS NO KESHNER, THAT THIS IS MADE UP BY A GROUP, AND WONDER IF ANYBODY OUT THERE HAS ACTUALLY MET KESHNER?

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Entertaining & informative
Review: This book has some funny flying stories. It also has an amazing amount of spelling and other errors that for some reason made it into print.

Yes, it does have some raunchy stories and some un-PC opinions about race, etc. However, I think that's really a minor part of the book. The author makes fun of himself too.

I found this book to be an interesting look at the life of an airline pilot. Ever heard of repo pilots? What happens to you if you sit next to a woman on a bench in Saudi Arabia if she's not your wife or other relative? Things like that are interesting and make this book worth reading to me.

The author also discusses Flight 800 - he has some insight given his 747 experience.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Unprofessional--needs a writer and editor
Review: Unfortunately, from the first page this author shows his total lack of comprehension of English grammar and punctuation. Every page seems to have at least one inappropriate "it's" (where "its" is correct), many paragraphs flip almost randomly between past and present tense, question marks are used in the wrong places and inappropriately, some nouns appear to be randomly capitalized, and the author clearly has no comprehension of appropriate use of commas, semi-colons, as well as the difference between en dash and em dash. The author clearly either never learned or has totally forgotten everything he learned in grade school English. Yes, the writing is absolutely atrocious and inexcusable.

Even worse, every page is peppered with gutter terminology. The author appears to believe only gutter language can sell a book.

All this detracts from the book, which also appears to be a random set of ideas.

This has to be self-published, as no reputable publisher would put out such trash. (I did look at the publisher information, and it's definitely not any mainstream company.) The author would have been far more successful if he had worked with an established publisher and an editor. This book clearly did not have the services of any credible editor, as no editor would allow the numerous (VERY numerous) errors on every page.

Other books out there by flight attendants and pilots are enjoyable and enlightening reading. AVOID this one, however. It's a total waste of money to buy it.

And a comment to the offspring of the author who wrote a comment here: don't protect your dad. Help him by assisting him in working with a proper publisher and editor so his book can present the concepts he probably wants to convey but does not because of the trashy (yes) appearance of the book on every page.

Oh yes--he also seems to rather randomly double and triple space paragraphs. Why?

Save your money.
