Rating: Summary: THE TRUTH Review: White mans justice, black mans greif is one of the best from Donald Goines. It takes you on a trip to the county jail,a place no black man ever wants to see at the time,or any time i'd say.Chester Hinens is arrested on a c-c-w charge carrying a concealed weapon,to make matters worst he has a long rap sheet.Chester is the average black man so when his bail was set very high he had to wait for trial in the county jail where he meets a young man that he becames very close to.While awaiting his trial and sentencing him and his new friend Willie got to be good friends, but in the end friends can betray you and really screw your life up and that's what happend. The story overall is a great one, everything that happens or has ever happened in the jail system is in this book,it's the truth about the great system that we are entered in when you make the mistake of catching a felony.Another classic
Rating: Summary: Goines Does it Again Review: Written in gritty language through the eyes of the main character, White Man's Justice, Black Man's Grief is testament to the racial undertones present in the American justice system. While Goines' work is extreme in making its points about the racial "un"justice system, it does give great insight into the struggles many incarcerated men (and women) face as they try to survive in a harsh and dangerous environment.
