Summary: Through rose-colored glasses...
Review: Marriage is such a sacred institution, but in this present day and time, it seems that it takes much more to make a marriage work. In order to have a successful union, both parties must give it their all, and if all is not given, the sacredness of the vows taken becomes jeopardized, causing a rift that may or may not be so easily fixed.

Regina Moore and Karen Jackson are both married to men they believe are the perfect spouses. Almost simultaneously, Regina and Karen discover secrets about their husbands that threaten the very essence of all they hold dear. Both women must do some serious soul searching, ultimately deciding whether or not they will fight for their marriages or if they should just cut their losses and move forward to the next phase of their life.

BEHIND CLOSED DOORS is the very first novel ever penned by highly acclaimed author Kimberla Lawson Roby. Although the storyline was predictable, Roby's story was well-written, complete with either characters you can identify with ones you want to slap some sense into. All in all, this was a good book, and I can't wait to see what's next from Ms. Roby.

Summary: Very enjoyable!
Review: Wonderful!

Ok I read the original version of the book. It was recently re-released, but I'm sure none of the original information was deleted.

What I read was reverse discrimination. That's right a light skinned woman who was jealous of dark skinned people. She was jealous of her own best friend and didn't even know it. It took losing her husband to realize her faults, even though he was wrong for what he did because he knew how she was before he married her.

But Regina was more of a woman than I would have been if I had caught my husband with his guard down. She took it as best she could I guess. Even though she did pout for awhile and almost went postal, she finally got it together.

Her best friend on the other hand had to deal with a gambler who wouldn't admit he had a problem and ended up losing a lot. Now the way she handled this situation was not good because the first time I would have found out the fool lost all that money he would have been gone. But just like a love struck woman she kept taking him back because of the promises.

The end proves good for both women though and you'll find that one is not so color struck anymore. This book is a must read!
