Summary: Review from FORUM Magazine
Review: ...There is plenty here to inspire and arouse.

Having written a trio of successful SM novels for Chimera, Maria Isabel Pita now presents a factual account of the first year of her relationship with her master, a scientist known as Stinger who she meets while she is walking her dog. Having been rechristened Missa, collared, pierced and given a list of 'slave rules' by which to live, she undergoes a journey which takes her into the swinging and fetish clubs of Miami, learning how to please her master by giving pleasure to others. It isn't an easy thing for her at first ' the remnants of a religious upbringing still stick to her, and she has a lot of issue to overcome regarding the attractiveness of her own body and those of the people they swing with as she attempts to participate fully in the scene. However, gradually she comes to realize that whatever she is asked to do with other couples, as Stinger tells her, ultimately 'it's just about us', and the real pleasure she gains is watching her master and being watched by him. Missa comes across a little bit smug when she keeps asserting how much better her relationship with Stinger is than that of any other couple they swing with, but she's honest enough to admit to her faults along the way, along with her struggle to separate the inhibitions of her old personality, which she calls MIP, from her new, relaxed and happily submissive one.

'The Story of M' won't attract the amount of publicity which was generated by 'The Sexual Life of Catherine M', but whereas that memoir seemed determined to make attending an orgy sound as exciting as a trip to the supermarket, Maria Isabel Pita does not shy away from graphically describing the erotic pleasure she and so many other people take from exploring the darker aspects of their sexuality.

Summary: Talk about baring your soul ...
Review: I have read several of Maria Isabel Pita's books and find that she certainly is one of today's hottest erotica writers, hands down. This book certainly is a revelation and perhaps a little opportunity for the reader to walk through the mid of the author .... Yes, the book I believe is very much oushed as a master slave memoir but for me I think it's really an incredible account, the best ever, of what the swing scene is all about in Miami and Brazil ..... Those readers that may consider that life style would be highly encouraged to read this bok first to understand what probably goes through the mind of the woman in the swing couple ... OK so all men are dogs, I admit it ....

Summary: An amazing and hot true story
Review: I read this book over the course of a couple of days and it is the only one that I have seen that merges insightful biography with the kind of erotically charged - extremely stimulating sex scenes that most people only dream about. It is about a couple - Missa and her Master - and their first year together. She had never had a Master before, and this is really a wonderfully revealing insight into her perceptions as she experiences a long list (enumerated in a "list of firsts" in the book) of kinky and exciting experiences, and slowly comes to realize that her dreams really can come true. I used to live in Miami and can tell you that her descriptions of the scene there are exactly on the mark, but at one point I wondered if the author was taking a bit of artistic license with her descriptions of herself and went to the book website and from there to her own website and saw her photos. If her descriptions of everything else are as accurate, then this book is not embellished in the least, it is just absolutely the most interesting and exciting story that I've ever read. Actually it is a really great read in any context but the fact that it is true is just... more stimulating. It should be required reading for any one who fantasizes about, or intends to realize, a true relationship between a dominant and a submissive and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Summary: Your writing goes right to my very core, Missa
Review: I've never felt such vulnerability and strength at the same time. You expressed my own feelings of extreme longing, damage, physical insecurities and even submission so succinctly and gracefully. I have never crossed over into a love as strong as yours and Stinger's, however. I've never found anyone loving enough, although I was almost destroyed by someone intense enough.

You definitely MUST continue writing!!... for people like me. Your book did not strike me as a sex book in any way. You were describing your state of being as a woman and as a living biological being, transformed through total dedication and love for your lifelong soul mate whom you were extremely fortunate to have found. It can't get much purer than that. You have distilled in your writing an essence of humanity that few will ever experience. I can't tell you how refreshing it is to hear your words.

Summary: The Story of M
Review: The Story of M is a memoir of intense intimacy and profound gratification. Honest prose flows from the beautiful heart of a submissive who is equally loved and cherished by her Dominant. Too often submissives are forced to hide their true natures in a politically correct world of ignorance and intolerance. Master Stinger must be so proud of his slave, Missa. She is an intelligent, liberated, and brave soul, especially for coming forward to clear up the unfair labels and gross misconceptions concerning Sensual Magic. This book is everything this lifestyle SHOULD be about!
