Rating: Summary: Sexy, Well-Written Erotic Vampire Tale Review: Aerin Peters is thoroughly depressed with her pathetic life. Still a virgin at the age of 47, she eats her lettuce sandwich lunches alone in the park, where she notices that her thighs constantly rub together, and remembers all of her dreams that have passed her by. When a flyer for an exclusive escort club named Fetish blows to her, Aerin takes it home with her.
Certain that she is disgusting and ugly, Aerin timidly enters Fetish and pays the exorbitant $5,000 per night charge to spend an evening with one of Fetish's gorgeous escorts. Aerin is stunned at the physical beauty of her escort, Violanti D'Arco, and is certain that he would never look twice at her if she wasn't paying for his services. Certain that she made a terrible mistake, Aerin tries to back out, but Violanti persuades her to stay and takes her into her first themed room at Fetish.
After spending the most incredible night of her life with Violanti, Aerin starts changing her life. She makes some friends at work, starts dressing in clothes to suit her body shape, and is overjoyed when people start noticing her and talking to her. Aerin decides that she deserves another night at Fetish and that her savings account can take it - especially when she realizes that she cannot even remember what Violanti looks like!
When Aerin reaches Fetish, Violanti is again her escort and he takes her into a different room at Fetish where he delights in teaching her what can bring her body the most exquisite pleasure. Aerin has to constantly remind herself that Violanti is only with her because she is paying him - as an escort at a high-priced resort, he is just doing his job, right? However, Aerin will soon come to discover that Violanti is not just an escort, he is her darkest dreams and deepest imaginings come to life...
Fetish was a thoroughly enjoyable book about a vampire and his chosen mate. Both Aerin and Violanti were fascinating characters that were fun to get to know. Aerin is that insecure person that is inside of all of us and it was wonderful to see her blossom as she came to understand that she had her own worth, charm and beauty. Violanti was such a dark, sexy hero, that he is very easy to fall in love with! Sherri King is an excellent author and I thought that, even though this book is technically defined as erotica, that the sex scenes were very tastefully done and not at all cheap or raunchy, which I appreciated. My only complaint with the book was that I felt that that story was pretty short and the plot was very simple. There really wasn't a villain in the tale, Aerin's insecurities were all that kept the two of them apart, and I would have liked to learn more about the whole vampire incubus thing, but the story is a great read for those who enjoy vampire erotica.
Rating: Summary: Amazing story... but too short! Review: As the title of this review states, the only problem I had with this book, was that it was too short. Aerin is a middle-aged woman who has finally admitted to herself that her life is completely devoid of everything that makes life worth living. She has a good job that pays great, but with no real friends. At forty-seven, she's never even had a lover and is now facing menopause. Finally desperate to at least experience one grand adventure in her life, she decides to make a call to a sex club. There she meets Violanti who sees in her all her potential and a beautiful soul. And, it becomes his purpose to help her see it too. The story is romantic and beautiful and of course, incredibly sexy. You'll smile, blush, and definitely get more heated then you'd care to admit to anyone except you partner.
Rating: Summary: GREAT vampire story Review: Eroticism at its best in this vampiric tale of a 47-year old overweight woman (yes, 47-years old) who decides to pay $5,000 to indulge her fantasies at a club called Fetish. The owner of Fetish, Violanti d'Arco, takes an immediate shine to the heroine and things go from there. GREAT vampire erotica--lots of steamy scenes and my favorite--the ultimate alpha male. I highly recommend this book~

Rating: Summary: Blown Away, But.... Review: The `love' scenes were.... Well, they were something else! But beyond the shameless and licentious erotica, there were some issues with a lack of depth, realism and storyline. Don't get me wrong: I am not a prude and reading this kind of MATURE erotica every now and again can spice up anyone's reading life.
The biggest problem for me to stomach, however, was the major loophole regarding the heroine, Aerin Peters. King started off by pursuing a very courageous notion-that a woman who was: (1) forty seven; (2) beginning to suffer from menopause; and among other things (3) more than 200 pounds-could find a love based upon more than a spectacular exterior. It seemed at first that King's anti-hero, Violanti D'Arco might actually see something beneath Aerin's culturally unacceptable exterior to treasure. This was not to be at all.
Enter loophole-that is, King enables Aerin to BECOME culturally acceptable. And it becomes okay for Aerin to be this book's heroine.
Aside from this issue, the absence of depth, true character development and any romance (what was I thinking?!) the book was a tasty fantasy treat. You know what they say about treats, though-too much can spoil your appetite.
A bit rich for the blood:)
Rating: Summary: Insatiable and unique vampire romantica! Review: This is one of the best Ellora's Cave novels I have read. I enjoyed Sherrie L. King's novel Bitten from the Moon Lust series, but said novel was nowhere near as well written as this one. Fetish is not just a vampire romantica -- it possesses a memorable story that you'd want to reread later on. Forty-seven-year-old Aerin Peters is tired of her lonely, unappealing existence. She is overweight and (according to her) unattractive and is a virgin spinster. But she couldn't resist visiting the club Fetish after reading about it in a flyer. There are no taboos at Fetish. Is it possible for her to find a night of pleasure? She gets more than she bargains with ultra-sexy escort Violanti D'Arco. He is determined to show Aerin the depths of her sensuality and have her see the beautiful, voluptuous woman that she really is. No sooner does Aerin begin Violanti's insatiable lessons than strange changes begin to occur. And Violanti's chameleon-like eyes, penchant for bites and other quirks are not normal. What has Aerin gotten herself into? There are various twists throughout the novel.
The course of the story and the changes and revelations within the same are the most realistic in this sort of genre. I like the fact that Aerin's attitude doesn't change overnight. And I loved the fact that she isn't the typical drop-dead-gorgeous, petite twenty-two-year-old that most romance novels prefer. The discovery of her sensuality is the best I have read in quite a while. The erotic scenes are incredible and delectable and Violanti D'Arco is one sexy vampire! He is a truly scrumptious character and the ultimate alpha male. King did an amazing job with characterization and story development in a 190-page novel. My one complaint about Ellora's Cave novels has always been that they are too short. I wish this one had been longer. As for Sherri L. King, this is an author whose work I will look forward to reading in the future. As said earlier, I loved Bitten from the Moon Lust series, but this one is better by a long shot. I cannot recommend Fetish enough!
