Summary: When hate and love clash, there is usually and explosion....
Review: "Answers are for questions I'm looking for solace!"

Here in our finale we're faced with those long awaited answers...

Will Andria and Rashaun's love make it?

Will his friend's views on marriage change his mind about his own looming nuptials?

Will Andria be able to raise their child alone?

Will Kim learn the difference between Blackfunk, and love?

This trilogy that concludes Blackfunk is not nearly as electrifying as in parts I & II, however it does pick up more smaller stories from various characters. Such as love, relationships, color syndrome, friendships, forgiveness, as well as present day POLITICS (PEOPLE PLEASE VOTE!) and it shows the growth of the characters involved.

Summary: More than the physical
Review: BLACKFUNK III, the final reflection of Michael Pressley's Blackfunk
trilogy, is done with much drama, but also with an affirmation of
the endurance of the human spirit. The title boasts of the
unprecedented escapades surrounding a very physically violent, yet
consensual, sexually motivated phenomena. This story captures
the strength of a man caught between a life altering situation and
two strong willed women.

Attorney Rashaun Jones is on trial for the murder of his fiancée's
former boyfriend. Rashaun acted in self-defense, but the District
Attorney's office is seeking a murder conviction. Rashaun is
apprehensive, and with good reason. District Attorney Kim Rivers
falls under the vestige of a woman scorned. She is Rahasun's
ex-fiancée, and two years ago he ended their engagement after
viewing a video of her bringing 'blackfunk' to life.

But a closer look reveals that more than revenge, Kim wants Rashaun
back, and she will stop at nothing, not even blackmail, to get him.
She discounts all the positives in her life: a possible appointment
to circuit court judge and a proposal of marriage, to realize her
obsession with him. Playing her trump card, she offers him a way out,
which will guarantee his freedom if he agrees to her terms, but he
stands to lose everything else. Amid a bitter lover, a murder trial
and new temptations, Rashaun is determined to hold fast to his
commitment to his fiancé Andria. Andria is equally determined that
they will have their future together. To Kim's dismay, the wedding
plans are ongoing, even though Andria and Rashaun do not plan to
exchange vows until he is completely exonerated. Becoming battle
weary, Rashaun is starting to take a hard look at Kim's proposal.

Pressley has again written with a no-frills simplicity about the
entanglements that cripple real men. Readers are made painfully aware
of the fallout from a misguided fantasy. The author has created an
excellent model of a strong male character and he introduces a
plethora of secondary characters who add much drama. Reaching beyond
all the treacherous obstacles, BLACKFUNK III climaxes Rashaun's
journey and discovers the depth of a man who is comfortable in his
manhood. Readers who enjoyed the preceding books will eagerly
embrace this final performance. I applaud where Pressley took this
story.

Summary: Will The Funk Continue.......
Review: Here we have the final installation of Michael Presley's memorable BlackFunk I & II characters - BlackFunk III. The main characters of Kim, Rashaun, Andria and Devon who is now known as "Pastor Thompson" have returned.

BlackFunk III picks up at the long awaiting trial for Rashaun Jones. Having experienced the ultimate of becoming a father with his fiancee Andria, Rashaun is in for the fight of his life -- being tried for the murder of Andria's ex-boyfriend, Paul. Much to his chagrin his former colleague as well as former girlfriend, high powered attorney Kimberly Rivers, is lead prosecutor.

Through the everyday trials and tribulations of life in general, Rashaun and Andria must plan a wedding, raise a family and possibly face the reality of Andria being a single parent should Rashaun get convicted of Paul's murder. He and his legal team adamantly deny all charges and cry self defense. But will the evidence and the cunning, devious trial tactics of Kim be enough to keep Rashaun from a life behind bars? Kim is at the pinnacle of her career and a win will be the ultimate coup de gras and payback for being dumped. Still hurting and acting vindictively over her loss of Rashaun, Kim pulls out out all the stops -- some that will leave you with your mouth open saying "OH!" With an exciting twist at the end, the long awaited sequel will not disappoint those who have awaited the return of the BlackFunk saga.

Michael Presley has shown continuity in/with his characters from the previous installments of BlackFunk I and II. This finale will applaud him for his commitment to his characters and storyline.

Summary: I am glad the funk has ended
Review: I read blackfunk 1 and 2 like two years ago and I enjoyed it but I really didn't remember the stories because he took so long to write the ending. But anyhow, I did remember Rashaun and I kinda remember some parts but i say all this to say that this was a good book. It kinda got deep toward the end and thats when I was like so into this book. But you HAVE to read the other two funk novels to understand this book.

Summary: All That and Then Some
Review: I was excited to see the third book in this series on the shelves and snatched up a copy immediately. Blackfunk III, like its predecessors, is a compelling novel about crime, sex, and love. Presley has a contemporary voice that draws readers in from the first page and it is hard to put any of his books down. I would agree that the series should be read in order but even as a stand alone book, this one carries its own weight. I look forward to his next novel, one that is excerpted at the end of Whatever It Takes. Presley remains one of my all-time favorite authors.

Summary: PLEASE WRITE BLACKFUNK IV
Review: Mr. Presley, you are a master at what you do. I have your triology--the Blackfunk series. Kudos to you. I love reading about erotic sex, crime, drama, and you even throw in a little politics in BF3. I can't wait to read Tears on a Sunday. Keep up the great work. You have a fan for life if you keep writing the way you do.

Summary: Truely Blackfunk
Review: This was another one of Michael Presley's must readers. I have read all 3 book and I enjoyed every single one. Now I can't wait to read Tears on a Sunday Afternoon, by him also. Go MP!
