Summary: Decent book
Review: "Thugs and the women who love them pt.1"is the best book i've ever read. This book takes you throught the up's and down's between three bestfriends and their boyfriends. This trio has experienced a lot of drama in such short time. The author of this book is Wahida Clark, she's also the author of "Thugs and the women who love them pt.2".WAhida Clark wrote these two excellent books as an inmate at Newark, NJ, jail.In part one of this book jaz was my favorite character because she seemed like she was the only independant one out of the trio.Jaz was an chemist and dated a liqour store owner by day and he was a counterfeit money dealer by night.Until one day Jazgo out to do her chemist runs and get busted by the cops.Kyra is inlove with not one but two very known drug bosses.Kyra is now 5 months pregnant by her old drug supplier Marvin, but don't know who she wants to be with.Angel is a student of law and dates a cold blooded pimp named Snake. When snake dissapears on Angel,Angel becomes miserable.I really enjoyed this book along with part 2.I would reccomend this book to all teenage girls, because this book taught me a lot about life and I think it could teach them too.

Summary: I HATE TO BE THE ODDBALL BUT........
Review: I am not sure if I read the same book that all the other reviewers read. I really wanted to love this book, but it wasn't my cup of tea. Before I start the negative, I would like to commend Ms. Wahida Clark on being able to write this book while incarcerated. That is a BIG accomplishment and there are so many who are people feeling her books, so congratulations. I did enjoy the erotic scenes and some of the chapters had some gangsta sh*t going on that was interesting. But for the most part, I was never on the edge of my seat. The story never developed into what I thought the book was about. The three friends in the book didn't seem like they had their own heads on straight, but were supposed to have such "high inspirations"...please. The pimp portion of the story was garbage. The story didn't have a moral or even a followable storyline to me. One page will talk about one of the girls going to the club, shooting heroine and then the next page she will be a aspiring doctor. It made no sense. Wahida didn't show the girls to be ambitious and doing something with their lives. I just couldn't get into the book. If you want to read some great street books with a real plot and edge of your seat storyline, read "The Coldest Winter Ever", "B-More Careful", or "Street Dreams", just to name a few that are better than this crap. I know the majority on this page thinks differently, but so be it. Get it from the library, don't buy it.

Summary: POWERFUL!!!!!
Review: I just finished reading "Thugs and the Women Who Love Them", and I must say I am impressed. Wahida Clark's book has a "realness" that I have only seen in novels by Iceberg Slim and Donald Goines. Ms. Clark gives us a good look into the city streets and the people who may not always be what they seem. Just knowing that Ms. Clark was incarcerated while writing this book should give hope to many young people hoping to accomplish their dreams and overcome obstacles. I am especially proud of Wahida Clark because she is from my hometown...Trenton NJ. When she mentions streets, parks, and projects in Trenton it really brings the story to life for me. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a gritty novel with a hardcore dose of reality.

Summary: It was great!
Review: I really did enjoy this book. The author kept me interested from the first page. It tells of a story that she might have lived. The only thing that was bad, is that the ending is left very OPEN !

Review: Thugs and the Women Who Love Them takes readers into the lives of three best friends bent on making it out of the hood. All three are in college and working on their degrees to better themselves and their lives. But will the thugs in the lives prevent this? Angel, a law student, is in love with Snake, a notorious pimp "by blood not relation." Kyra, a psychology student, is in love with not one, but two drug dealers. Jaz, a chemist in the making, is loving Faheem, a liquor store owner by day and money counterfeiter by night. Will these three accomplish their goals of making it? You'll have to read and see. Great debut novel Wahida!! Looking forward to reading much more from you.

Summary: This book is hot!!!
Review: Thugs and the Women Who Love Them was very good to the last word. Very realistic and gritty, with messages thrown in.

I was very impressed that Wahida Clark wrote this book from prison, which should let anybody know that you can follow your dream no matter where you are or going.

The three main characters in the book were females that were living the street life but at the same time trying to obtain a collgege degree and along the way came across some tough situations with the thugs in their life. Some situations came out bad and some situation came out good, you have to read the book to find out what was what.

Later!!!
