Summary: Kept Me Entertained From Beginning To End
Review: Dime Piece was a very good read. There was drama nonstop within this beauty salon and I'm sure many of us could relate to sitting in the salon for hours, hearing the gossip, talking about men, and catty envy between star stylists.

I liked how the story ended and give the book 4 stars instead of 5 because of editing. I know the authors must get sick of hearing it. One Triple Crown author (not this one) even had the nerve to actually mention in a recent collection of short stories that she was tired of hearing about the bad editing. Well do something about it!! Like it or not, editing reflects on the author's work. I understand that the author is not the editor but when we read these books you've already cosigned for your editor. There's no excuse for Charly being spelled "Charlie" over and over, or having a scene in the book where Ishmael was with Robin but then the editor messes up and puts Nina's name in the mix. Tighten up Triple Crown editors, you've gotten better but still have a long way to go if you want to be taken seriously.

Review: I really enjoyed reading "Dime Piece". This book has soooo much drama, it's crazy! Charly is a mess! And Ishmael is such a dog. For anyone who has spent time in a hair salon, this book is definitely on point. I highly recommend reading it.

Summary: Tracy Brown Throws It Down
Review: I truly enjoyed this hairshop book. It was written with all the drama that I have been known to enjoy as well as as plenty of plot twists and turns. I am now reading Black and this author is just doing it for me. Every avid reader of AA fiction should support this author. Nina (my namesake as well as a character in the book) seemed to be the most intelligent of the four women and the least ghetto was my heroine. The other three women had major issues but not issues that one could not relate too all in all this was worth your $$$$$$$$.

Review: The story was about four women who worked in the hair salon Dime Piece and they all have the hots for a brother named Ishmael.

The owner, Celeste is involoved with Ishmael's best friend, Rah-lo but when he gets locked up she begins to second guess her relationship Rah-lo. Ishmael secretly likes Celeste but he wants to remain loyal to his best friend.

Charly the drama queen is used to getting what she wants and will not stop until she gets Ishmael to herself.

Nina is tired of seeing everyone's happiness but her own. When Ishmael takes an interest in her, she is ready and eager to give love a chance.

Robin is the baby of the crew and can't see why all the women are in love with Ishmael, that is until she notices him checking her out.

This book was ok, it wasn't great and it wasn't a total waste. It kinda dragged along, I thought it would be the bomb because I read a previous book by the author that I really enjoyed. Better luck next time.

Review: This book really isn't about your typical hair salon. I thought it was ok. I thought the poetry that was introduced, suddenly, was interesting; it just appeared. I wish Ms. Brown all the blessings she deserves.

Review: Tracy Brown definitely has a bestseller with this book. I liked it MUCH better than "BLACK", which was her 1st Essence bestseller. This work is skillfully written about 4 stylists who work in an upbeat styling salon. While reading this book, I felt as though I was reading the female version of Ice Cube's "Barbershop"...This book is worth the purchase for the wolf tickets alone. That's one way to know you are reading a good book. I howled as I read this book (while on an airflight). I know the other passengers must have thought I lost it; but this book got spontaneous reactions from me while reading. Note: if you want a good read, get this book! There could be a part 2, but I trust that the author will come with something fresh, and leave the sagas alone. Great job, Ms. Brown!

Review: Tracy Brown has done it again with her new book entitled "Dime Piece". If you are from the five boroughs , then you will appreciate reading Dime Piece (not to mention how Tracy devotedly puts Staten Island on the map). Even if you are not from NYC, this book is a definite MUST READ! As a native Staten Islander, I personally enjoyed its imagery -- being able to envision some of the places and events she describes in her book. But wherever you come from, if you want to know what its like to come out of the streets, then read this book!!! If you want to read something that is exciting, funny, and edgy, then definitely read DIME PIECE by Tracy Brown.

I can't wait for a sequel...
