Review: This book was sort of slow to me. It also had a lot, and I do mean lots of grammer and spelling errors. At one time she was telling Gypsy after she became paralized that "she was going to get custody of her nephew if the police ever caught up to her brother, she then said Wiggles just blew into the straw to agree". Wiggles had been killed 4 chapters back. These are the types of errors that occured all through the book, which is why it was so difficult to read. I am not sure if I will read any other Nikki Turner books anytime soon (hopefully she has a better editor now). This book was overall a slow read, and in no way can compete to other african american authors like, Zane, Michael Baisden, Eric Jerome Dickey or Sister Souljah for that matter. My recommendation is to read at your own risk, its better to check it out at the local library for free, then to spend $10-$15 dollars on it at the store. :)

Review: This was my first Nikki Turner novel, and I couldn't put it down. If you like urban novels, don't miss thia one. It's absolutely great. Looking for Hustler's Wife now!

Review: Tressa goes from rags to riches in such a short period of time (but she makes do and all is well that ends well) thanks to the lack of financial help from her children's father, Lucky. Lucky is an extremely jealous, vindictive, trigger happy street runner who shoots first and asks questions later. The plot and character roles were written in such a way that I, as a reader, could easily follow their experiences and the story as it took me on many twists and turns. I cried and rejoiced with Tressa as she searched for and finally found true love. Lucky got exactly what he deserved in the end (the rat was a great touch). I was left with one question......What ever happened to Taj?
