Summary: Lawd! This book was good
Review: First let me say that the errors are the publisher fault. I guess if you never written a book I guess you would not know. And it you read some of the WHITE authors books they have mistake in them also. We are all human and make mistakes so stop with the madness, because if you look at the person in the mirror you are not perfect yourself.
Now let me get to the real issue the book!!
Nikki Turner has up and done the darn thang. The book was so good I burnt dinner because I could not put it down, yes it was just that GOOD. I read it in two days. I loved the strength that Tressa had and they way she didn't let Lucky keep her down. I only wish more women possess strength like that. Yes, maybe I am talking about you!!!! Get the book you will truly enjoy. I can't not wait until the next book comes out. Girls from da Hood in stores Summer 2004!!!!!!

Summary: The Crazy Life Tressa
Review: I gave this book 3 stars because I didn't want to come down too hard on Ms. Turner. But, please let me say this that book was no good. Did that just make sense? Well, those are the kinds of errors you run into while reading A Project Chick. The story was interesting. But in some parts VERY UNBELIEVABLE. I'm an advid reader of Black Fiction that flows with drama falling in the right place not all over the place! You want a good read? Try Bad Girlz by Shannon Holmes, The Last Bad Decision by Paula Edwards, or my personal favorite, Black by Tracy Brown. I would recommend these novels to anyone. As for A Project Chick, you better have plenty of patience before reading it. That's all for now folks. Peace.

Summary: Even Better Than A Hustler's Wife
Review: I really enjoyed A Project Chick. She painted pictures of the hood very well. Nikki was just on point. From the people hanging outside on the porch, running the cars thinking that you want some drugs, gals hating and being sheisty, women lowering their standards and accepting certain things to maintain a lifestyle of the rich and the lazy, females in the beauty shop being nosey....the list goes on and on. Nikki definitely told a entertaining but powerful story. Tressa was determined not to settle for Lucky and his crazy ways. Tressa understood that all the money in the world won't buy peace of mind and happiness. A Project Chick takes you into Tressa's shoes of struggling to make it after she wants out of her relationship with Lucky. Tressa goes through the baby daddy drama, dealing with living in the projects but wanting more, having to suck in her pride and do what she has to do, going through different men, and more. This is a story of perserverance. It exceeded my expectations, being some of the reviews aren't great. I think this is a 4.5 star book. Good job Nikki!!

Summary: THE BOOK WAS A PAGE TURNER
Review: I THOUGHT THE BOOK WAS A GOOD READ I READ HUSTLERS WIFE AND I THOUGHT IT WAS BETTER THAN THAT ONE NIKKI TURNER DID A GOOD JOB ON HER SECOND BOOK I STILL THINK THAT ALL THESE BOOKS TRY TO IMMITATE THE COLDEST WINTER EVER AND SHANNON HOLMES B-MORE CAREFUL. OVER ALL IM GLAD I PURCHASED THE BOOK AND I LIKE HOW THE CHARACTER DIDNT NEED TO DEAL WITH HER BABIES DAD FOR MONEY SHE NEVER SLEPT BACK WITH HIM AFTER SHE LEFT HIM. I THOUGHT THAT SHE COULD OF BEEN A REAL PROJECT CHICK THOUGH. AND SHOWED SOME OF THE SHEISTY MOVES PROJECT CHICKS REALLY MAKES. I WAS HAPPY TO ADD THIS BOOK TO MY COLLECTION
PEACE AND HAPPY READING

Summary: Just Alright For Me
Review: I thought this book was just ok. The editing was horrible. Can we get one book from the urban fiction genre that has good editing?

The Richmond, VA references that Nikki gives in her books are always on point and she didn't disappoint in that aspect. I also liked the fact that the main character, Tressa wasn't just some around the way chickenhead but an intelligent woman trying to make ends meet. But the situations weren't new which didn't make it a page turner for me. The ending was pretty good so that earned a star by itself.

With all that said I would still read another book from this author, she has potential. I just wouldn't buy the book, I'd check it out of the library.

Review: I thought this was one of the best ghetto books I have read. i really like nikki truner writing skills...

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellant
Review: I thought this was one of the best ghetto books I have read. This book was incredible, the way it went from her having everything to having nothing cause it wasn't really hers in the first place cause it belonged to her man. When you depened on a man to give you everything, when he leaves you are left with nothing unless you are KIM PORTER, lol. I recommend anyone to read this book....excellant choice.

Summary: This book is off da hook!
Review: Nikki Turner did it again! Every woman out there should read this book. The storyline is easy to relate to especially if you know people like Tressa. Nikki did a good job portraying Tressa's story. She was smart, determined, and full of drama. I can picture the backstabbing friend like Dutchess, the biggest hater of all, Gyspy and the controlling and jealous babydaddy Lucky. Being From VA myself, I can relate to the plots. This book deals with all the tough issues we as women may encounter in life like Being a single parent, haters, backstabbing friends, and no good men. The ending has a very unexpected twist when we found out that Indie is really alive. It brought tears to my eyes when Wiggles died. She was the mother
figure to Tressa and took good care of the twins. This book really captures its audience and I personally couldn't put it down. A true page turner!

Review: THIS BOOK MUST HAVE BEEN WRITTEN BY A PROJECT CHICK !
This book was frustrating ! A million and one typos, The story was predictable and some parts very unbelievable I don't know why I wasted my money In the book I found Tressa to be very long winded (Think Blanche from the golden girls) some of the things she would say was so long a drawn out she the type of person you would cut off right in the middle and say ALRIGHT ALRIGHT GET IT OVER WITH ! she would say long drawn out things like your gonna crumble! crumble like the walls of Jerchio crumbling to pits of hell on a speedboat (not actual quote) All this just to say watch your back your going down ???? come on ! I wished Lucky had killed her off just so she would shut her long winded TRAP ! My suggestion is SAVE YOUR MONEY ! My plans for this book is to loan it out and hope it never comes back !
