Rating: Summary: Neale ... FALL FROM HEAVEN ... story Review: 10 year old Neale had his own 'fall from heaven story' on pp.41-45 when his mom saved enough to buy "an old upright piano" and Neale "with perfect pitch...couldn't get away from" the piano. His dad was for "stop pounding on that damned piano" instead. So one summer day, his dad was "banging on it from the inside with a sledge hammer, then ripping it with a crowbar". Neale refused to leave his bedroom for 3 days afterward. Finally his dad gave in & knock on Neale's bedroom door & claimed he was " 'making space in the family room to put our couch along the wall...We'll get you a new piano, a spinet, which will be small enough for you to have up here, in your bedroom'... I don't know when it was, exactly, that I realized my father was not going to keep his promise. I do know that it wasn't until I was thirty that I realized he probably never intended to! "
Neale did the same kind of promise to his eldest daughter in order to mollify her as he was writing the above & he wrote "the sins of the father were visited upon the son..." God pushed Neale to declare what he learned from that story. Neale said on p.46 that it was manipulation and "it's the worst kind of lies."
Further Neale recommended reading "The Little Soul and the Sun" which is God's rendition of 'fall from heave story', the reason/handicap/gift for which we came to earth to experience.
To understand more about 'fall from heaven story' examples 'see all my reviews' & please find 'your own' & it is pervasive in each one's own lifetime on earth.
E.g. Neale in this book from the start on pp.25-32, God asked him thrice 'Why not just put the books on the Internet now? Make them available for free?' Neale gave 9 pages of rambling/lam/ excuse/filter/manipulation/lies. By June 29, 1999 when he finished writing this book (p.411) he was already a millionaire several times over from his copyright royalties received from the Conversation with God (CwG) trilogy. The trilogy all made the bestsellers list for quite a number of weeks.
I met Neale in April 1999 & asked him the same question plus how about a mass-market paperback edition of the CwG trilogy? Neale again 'manipulated' when he autographed in my CwG3 "this book should be free". The paperbacks came out in 2002, too late to make bestsellers list due to Neale's exploitation/greed.
This book FwG really starts on ch.3 p.36 (which is my #). By p.74 " Yet the reality of [God] will not be found in your previous ideas, but in your present moment experience.
Think of it this way: your mind holds the past, your body holds your present, your soul holds the future.
Put another way, the mind analyses and remembers, the body experiences and feels, the soul observes and knows. "
On p.82 " If [you] don't believe what [I] say then you will not experience it as your reality. [And] catch the closed circle here--because if you do not believe that you create your own reality, then you will experience your reality as something you did not create...'proving that you create your own reality.' " "What you resist, persists" (p.210)
I'll go further and say the only thing I really 'own' is 'my own reality' which I choose to create. Neale finally confessed in writing on p.98 that he was suicidal when God first started conversing with him through automatic writing "in February of 1992" (p.68).
On p.101 Weapons of Mass Destruction is mentioned before Bush laid claim to its WMD acronym for Iraq. Alas, because of Neale's filter God didn't bother to be as specific as in Will_I_am Shad's CwG where God states that the US is the only government who used WMD on 2 cities over Japan & never apologized for it. And present Jewish leaders never learned the lesson from Hitler thus perpetuating the same kind of bigotry by taking over Palestinian land & making the Arab Jews second-class. Using lies perpetrated by the old testament as the chosen/superior people. President Bush son & dad lied to US concerning the motive of their personal wars. Is it simply US bullying/exploiting/manipulating every one in the name of survival of the fittest and capitalism? Thus US fails miserably on God's declaration of "OURS IS NOT A BETTER WAY, OURS IS MERELY ANOTHER WAY--one statement that will heal the world." (p.153 & my birthyear)
On p.182 God states "lying is lying, whether it is by commission or omission."
p.259 God had to remind Neale on his promise to reveal his experience since the release of CwG trilogy. Neale started and went on to describe how Elisabeth Kübler-Röss kidnapped Neale with unconditional love. She is the founder of US hospices & she passed away in 2004 & Neale dedicated FwG to her. Bernie Siegel, another unconditional lover re-titled his own CwG.
p.340 Neale's true colors showed with his lam conversation & fan_atism with famous people like Shirley MacLaine instead of further elevating the nameless homeless who befriended him when he was destitute on pp.346-354.
Since 1996 I rarely swat even mosquitoes & that's the question Neale ask on pp.363-375 & God answers:
"WE ARE ALL ONE--Do unto others as you would have done with you,
because it 'is' being done unto you!
That is the Golden Rule."
More plainly as on p.395 God states "In a word, be God." and reminded Neale on p.401 to be totally transparent & honest. Neale wasn't willing to put his books on the Internet for free & used the lam excuse of his five ex-wives' privacy (p.304). So we can't know what happened in his own 5 intimate relationships & what he learned from those 5 realities he created for himself.
It is a miracle that ONENESS' message gets through loud & clear and only 2% are tainted by Neale's filters. For delivering that, the CwG trilogy & FwG deserve 10-stars.
Rating: Summary: The best of the Conversations With God series. Review: Fantastic! Having read all of the extraordinary international best-selling Conversations With God books several times over, Friendship With God remains my favourite. The majority of the content is a reiteration of the first three books of the series, but as the title suggests, the tone here is more informal. This is, literally, how to have a friendship with God. Most of the book is in dialogue form. However, Neale Donald Walsch shares considerably more of his background and life history than in other books in the series. I found this added to my already profound appreciation of all the CWG books. Not surprisingly, Mr. Walsch has had a very, very wide range of life experiences, including working with the dying with Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, involvements with radio, television, advertising and a period of time spent virtually living on the streets. The last few chapters are particularly well written and build up to an enlightening climax that is well worth repeated reading. In Friendship With God, Walsch has continued his mission to "give people back to themselves" superbly. The New Gospel of "WE ARE ALL ONE. OURS IS NOT A BETTER WAY, OURS IS MERELY ANOTHER WAY" is yet another example of the deceptively simple, powerful, revolutionary truths presented in all the Conversations With God books.
Rating: Summary: A New Friendship For Me Review: Friendship With God, by Neale Donald Walsch, does, indeed, and to good purpose, rehash some of the ideas presented in earlier books. Most of us could stand some repetition to remind us Who We Are. In any case, if it isn't new to you, skip to the good part: God is no longer an unknown Entity somewhere Out There, Someone to whom we present our case and wait for Jdgement On High. Instead, He/She resides deep within my own heart, and yours, and you and I can have our own friendship with God. And I do, a fact that perhaps makes it easier to believe Neale's assertions that his words are the result of conversations with God. Kudoes, Neale.
Rating: Summary: More outstanding conversations with God Review: Having read the first three books "Conversations with God" 1,2 and 3 I was totally impressed and grateful for them. I didn't read any other of Neale/God's books for some time. I continually returned to these books for inspiration, guidance and upliftment and they are a great source to help one remember who we really are, particularly at times when life seems a little heavy. I was fortunate to hear Neale speak on his visit to New Zealand and he masterfully reinforced all that he and God had written in books 1,2 and 3. Even after that event I still wasn't motivated enough to read their book "Friendship with God". It wasn't until my wife bought the book home from the library for me unexpectedly that I read it. I must of subconsciously thought that because the first three books were so unbelievably magnificent that "Friendship with God" couldn't possibly be better or contain anything new. Well, it wasn't better, (you can't better the plain truth). But just as inspirational? Yes. Just as helpful? Yes. Just as enlightening? yes. "Friendship with God" is right up with all his other books, simply unmissable if you are seeking the truth about existence. As a bonus their are some really useful tools explained by God to assist us getting in touch with ones true self. And the best of all, God's wit is still there. He has a keen sense of humour which pops up occasionally, and makes this book a fun read. These books have a habit of appearing in your life at exactly the appropriate time. Well done Neale. Well done God. Good effort from both of you. Keep it up.

Rating: Summary: forgive us... Review: I bought this book because it came very highly recommended by a writer friend. He claimed it changed his life. I've been a Christian most of my life, and I'm always willing to understand more or better the precepts I've tried to live by. BUT!!!! if that's what you are looking for, this is not the book for you. The writer of this book goes into great detail about the religious "guilt" laid on his back by an unmerciful clergy, and then claims to have overcome it by self examination and introspection. He claims god told him that none of what is taught in the Bible is true, nor is anything from the established church to be thought of as truth. Namely, that God is righteous and therefore demands righteousness, or that God abhors sin (not sinners). What he's trying to get across is that GOD JUST WANTS TO BE YOUR BUDDY. There is no right or wrong, no atonement necessary because, hey, we've all screwed up once in a while, right, dude? No worry needed about eternity, for God is there to pat you on the back and tell you no matter what you did, "I love you, man." Schlok and hoo-hah. Skip it. Read INSTEAD: The Blessing by Gary Smalley. That's one that will change your life.
Rating: Summary: Born again Christian Review: I have just started reading this book and it was very hard for me to put it down the first night. It is a substancial book but a great read, so far, for those who want to be closer to God and understand that he is here for us. God Bless.
Rating: Summary: God and Neale do it again Review: I know there are many skeptics who don't believe God is speaking to us through Neale. As both Neale and God say in the first 3 books, if you don't believe it then that's ok, but at least read with an open mind, apply the principles to your life and experience a greater spiritual awareness. That is what I have done and it has had a profound impact on my life. Friendship with God is without a doubt Neale's finest work so far. It pulls together for the reader, many of the concepts explained in the CWG trilogy at a level that makes them practical to every day life. Additionally, it is very helpful (in my humble opinion), the hear about Neale's life, how he has evolved to where he is today, and how the "divine coincidences" played such a key role in getting him there. I believe if all of us take the time to think about similar coincidences in our lives that at least got us to the point of picking up the book and reading it, we will not be able to deny there is a true reason as to why we find ourselves here at this time. That in my view is what has helped me apply much of the teaching in this book to my life. If you read other books ie. Manifest your Destiny by Wayne Dyer, Seat of the Soul by Gary Zukav and others it is clear (at least it is to me) that we are being taught a different way to "view" God in our lives. This view of a truly loving and nonjudgmental God differs greatly from many of the teachings the christian churches. I for one find this view very refreshing and can accept this as the real view for me. Again, I believe this book and others is simply showing us the way. And I thank Neale for taking what I believe was a risk to bring these teachings to us.
Rating: Summary: A REAL relationship with God... Review: Just want to say....
we cannot just be "friends" with God, but we have to be obedient, and permissive to what He wants to do in our lives. We can't tell Him what to do, or be "cool" with Him. We have to let him take control of our lives and lead us, He's God.
From the view of Neale Walsch, it seems that we can just "be friends" with God, and that He loves us and will never punish us and that everything will be rosy between Him and us. Well, we are human, we make mistakes and we DO SIN. Sin separates us from God. And because God sent Jesus His son to die for ALL of our sins and to bring us back to a closeness with God the Father, we can go to Jesus and say we are sorry and ask Him to forgive us and to come into our lives and help us to be better.
But we have to submit to God. We can't do things ourselves the way we want. THAT'S really the truth people. We can have true PEACE if we do it that way, I assure you. We will continue to make mistakes, but we always have to come before God and tell Him we are sorry we sinned. He will ALWAYS forgive us if we do that. But if we don't, that's when we are in danger of the consequences, whatever that may be.
Rating: Summary: Thank You God and Neale Review: Once again, God and Neale Donald Walsch, explain to us what this life is all about. There is so much comfort in knowing that it is truly simple and that we have complicated our lives with so many untrue beliefs. Anyone who is truly searching for the answer to mysteries, must read all of these books (Conversations With God, 1,2 & 3, and this book) in order. Then re-read them, for you will gain more insight each time they are read. Many will dismiss the entire premise of these books, but keep an open mind and believe that God does speak softly to most of us, but loudly and clearly to others. Neale is one of those who God "had" to be pretty plain with and I'm certain he is eternally grateful! So am I!
