Summary: Couldn't Put It Down
Review: I am a HUGE Stuart Woods fan, and although some parts of this novel weren't exactly believable, it was still a great read. Some reviewers of this novel have been a bit too harsh. Whoever said that you need to believe everything that is written? Can't it just be an entertaining novel? From the start, this book grabs you with the gossip columnist being harrassed by an anonymous person, and I love cop-turned-lawyer Barrington who is brought back to solve the crime. He is the epitomy of the knight in shining armour, whom every woman longs for in her life!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good and easy to read
Review: I have really liked all of Stuart Woods books. Be aware that in each of them there is one or two brief sex scenes. They ARE very explicit but well written and brief. I like that the stories are easy to follow but they are interesting and riviting. I hate to read a book that I have to go back to previous pages to remember who the characters are.

Summary: Like Reading a TV Movie
Review: Reading Stuart Woods'"Dirt" was like reading a made-for-TV movie: Glamorous characters, fast-paced action and nothing too deep to make your head hurt. I could easily imagine Tom Selleck as Stone Barrington, and I'm sure Susan Lucci could star as the bitchy gossip columnist Amanda Dart. Though I find Woods' characters to be cardboard cutouts, his pulpy plots are entertaining. This is definitely beach reading.

Summary: Gets Better and Better
Review: Stuart Woods has quickly become one of my all-time favorite authors. After reading one of his novels, I decided to start at the beginning of his Stone Barrington series. I read "New York Dead" and then moved on to "Dirt." Woods does a great job of maintaining his character development of Stone, and Stone naturally grows into his role as a lawyer. I was not impressed with the book in the beginning, after several chapters the book got much better and went at a very fast pace. Definitely a good ending on this one too. I recommend this novel for anyone who likes series, but start at the beginning with "New York Dead."
