Summary: It Was a Great Cup
Review: After I finished this book I immediately saw the screenplay - the one that America would never produce because it's an African American love story. It's one of spiritual and emotional growth, so of course no one in this country would enjoy seeing it. I enjoyed this book on a lot of different levels. The first level was the proud display of God and our African American men. Peace and love, Breezee

Summary: Laying Your Burdens Down
Review: I really enjoyed this book it made me feel as if I was right there with each character. I really like the way Franklin White had the spiritually going on in the book and his charcters. Some people don't realized how much of an impact God can have in your life and he will not lead you wrong. The way Franklin has put some of these words on paper (I know it's fiction) have made me think twice about God and my spiritually. I really recommend this book to anyone who is going through something and it will help you to get on the right track concerning your spiritually.

Summary: This in no "Fanny"
Review: I loved Fanny and could not wait for this. Boy, was I disappointed. Now, I do like the fact that Mr. White has many different story lines going on at once but this one was so phoney. Like the gay guy being that girl's sister. Come on! Also, it was preachy and his fiance was just too much of a victim for me.

Maybe "Till Death" will retore my faith in Mr. White's true talent.

Summary: A Blessing to Christian Readers
Review: Since giving my life to Christ, I have had to give up reading a lot of the novels that used to keep me entertained. Not so with A Cup of Love. It was inspirational and entertaining without being vulgar. I applaud Mr. White for allowing his spirituality to come through in this novel. Keep up the excellent work and I'll keep reading.

Summary: Black Love & Support At It's Best!
Review: Cup Of Love is a story of Black Love and the dynamics of Relationship. The story's main characters are Vance & Artise and Ethan & Tasha. Vance is the brother who seriously loves Artise but he has a slight problem with a wandering eye, and ended up in one two many affairs and got caught. Artise is the sister who stands by her man(Vance) and doesn't pass judgment because she knows the man upstairs will deal with Vance. Ethan is Vance's best friend who has commitment-phobia and after jilting his former girlfriend(Tasha) he now only dates WWK(women with kids) because he doesn't have to worry about falling in love with them. Tasha was Ethan's former girlfriend who moved on to a older man who she thought could provide her the love she needed.

I must admit that it took me a while to get into the storyline because it appeared to be so predictable...just another problematic relationship tale. However, was I ever in for a pleasant surprise as Mr. White was able to bring the story to life with a few smooth twists and adventures that included an unplanned pregnancy, political corruption, a very tragic and emotional incidence and some strange eroticism...all which kept you rapidly turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next.

Although preachy at times, I liked that Mr. White wanted to leave us with a positive outlook on black love and relationships. I especially liked the Stubbefields, an elderly AA couple who had been married over 60 years and who still shared a romantic relationship based on love, respect, compassion and passion! I also liked that Mr. White dealt with other relationships such as the mother-daughter relationship between Artise and her mom; the surrogate father/son relationship between Vance and the Stubbefields; the best friend/sister friend relationship with Artise and Tasha; and the surrogate mother/daughter relationship with Artise and Melba.

Cup of Love is a book about love, passion, understanding, forgiveness, and redemption and leaves you feeling good and believing that Love can conquer a multitude of sins.

Summary: Doesn't get any better!
Review: There are no amount of words to explain how wonderful this book is. I read the author's first book and it was good. But this book showed growth, intelligence and masterful insight not only about relationships but life in general. I have to admit, I was surprised because the author is so young. I must say-this book will be a masterpiece as we all age and hopefully Franklin White will continue to write and give us different looks at his talent! Bravo!

Summary: Two words Recycle Bin
Review: Cup of Love started out great but took a nose dive around page 20. Although his male characters were believable, his female characters reminded me of something out a Living Single episode, but not as funny or nearly believable. The dialog was full of cliches and stereotypical dribble.

Summary: Mr White is a sensitive, God fearing black brother!
Review: I read this book in one day, I could not stop once I got started. All of the characters make you seem as though you know someone just like them. I would like to see Mr White write again in this same style, he really has a flair for putting life lessons on paper and giving thoughful solutions to these lessons.

Summary: IF YOU DO NOT READ THIS NOVEL. . . YOU'RE MISSING OUT!
Review: Mr. White, like fine wine, is getting better with time. The enjoyment of this book basically defies description, and I've read more than my share of excellent novels. The author has an unbelievable imagination. You WILL NOT be able to put the book down. If you don't believe me... read it and enjoy!
