Summary: Cute Book But Annoying Heroine
Review: Although I did enjoy this book, I found myself becoming increasingly annoyed at Sally, the heroine. First of all, she is stuck in a dead-end life until she meets Jack. Her boyfriend says he loves her but doesn't seem to want to commit; her day job is nothing to brag about; and her acting career is totally stalled. Then she meets Jack, who opens doors for her, and feels guilty about the help she is getting. Although her more successful rival for television roles and Jack's romantic rival David are taken out of the picture, neither of them are permanently injured. Then she begins to believe that he's the devil. I can't understand her or admire her at all. Jack has done nothing except show no remorse for other people's tragedies, and yet she's willing to run away from love, happiness, and success. Unbelievable! The ending isn't bad, but it seems to be something of a copout. I did enjoy it, but it's forgettable.

Summary: I felt like I have been cheated for the past 2 days!!
Review: I felt good about the book uptil the middle of the book, it got annoying how the heroine Sally kept comparing everything to the devil and I HATE the ending, it does not tie up loose ends!!! It was a copout!! I do NOT recommend this book for ANYONE!!!!!

Summary: Got completely hooked on this book!
Review: I happened to find this book recently and thought it might be a fun summer read - and it certainly is, and it's got more to it as well. The heroine of the story, struggling actor Sally, is self-effacing, engaging, and sharp, and brings these qualities to the narration of ever-increasing noteriety she gains in the world of soap opera "acting."

Through her eyes we find ourselves catapulted into a new world - one where stars from "Friends" wave hello across a crowded, exclusive NYC restaurant and attending major movie premieres becomes normal. Perhaps her new position in life is due to her growing relationship with Sally's influential TV executive boyfriend, Jack Weaver. And Sally also notices that those people who once stood in her way start experiencing sudden traumas, eliminating them from her life. But these could all just be coincidences...right?

Throughout the book, the author peppers chapter introductions with quotes about the Devil, making the reader more than certain that Jack Weaver might have a more supernatural guiding hand in her recent success. But then we suddenly find ourselves rooting for both Sally and Jack and their relationship, hoping that he's not the devil after all. They are truly happy with each other - but Sally must figure out if it's worth the price.

The author does well to string us along on the ultimate questions of the book: does Sally deserve this fame and good fortune, or are other, more supernatural forces at work? Is it right to make choices which benefit you above those around you? How much can we expect to deserve from life and love?

Lest you think that these questions drag down the book, they don't - the tone is light, funny, and witty. I was really pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book, and how, after about 50 pages, I couldn't put it down. Highly recommended.

Summary: GREAT READING - FUN & SEXY!!
Review: I have read all the reviews on this book and I tend to agree with some aspects but I also disagree with quite a few comments. Sally does seem to look for ways to be unhappy but in the life she has had, why wouldn't you shelter yourself from getting hurt? The only thing I could have done without was her getting pregnant. I tend to think that is used for a "shock factor" and just makes you want her and Jack to get back together even more. The ending, although it does have loose ends, it makes you think about the book even after the book is finished. It's up to the reader to decide for themselves, if Jack is the devil or not. What a great book!!

Summary: The worst book I have ever read - 1 star is generous
Review: I have to admit I was enjoying this book up until about halfway through. At that point Sally Carpenter turned into a completely illogical nutcase actually believing that her boyfriend was the devil (not just a bad person, but the actual devil - please!!!).

The only thing worse than the change in Sally's character was the way the book finished off. My guess is that McInnis got as bored writing this as I got of reading it and just wanted it to end. This novel needed either a happy ending or and ending that revealed interesting twists to explain all preceeding events.

I kept thinking that Dara Dempsey's character would come back into play somehow, the keeper of a dark secret about Jack, but nothing. McInnis set up this story with lots of opportunities for a great ending and completely passed over all of them.

McInnis couldn't decide whether to write a romance novel or a thriller and failed miserably at both.

Summary: One HECK of a good book
Review: I thought this book was so sexy and fun. I totally got lost in the story. I'm an actress and loved the details about LA and NYC. It seems very realistic. But I don't think Jack is the devil-I think he's a great guy and they get back together.

Summary: A good read
Review: It was a pretty good read. The humor was kind of dark. I wasn't really thrilled with how the author ended the book. But it was a very interesting read.

Summary: A devil of a good time.
Review: Just finished reading Devil May Care. Very cute book. I was a bit disappointed in the ending, felt like there were too many loose ends.

Summary: Too far out...
Review: Maybe I have a problem suspending disbelief but this book just left me wanting something more. I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be humorous, dramatic or what, and then it ended on such a weird note. I mean seriously, the devil? The story kept me entertained, until I realized that the main character seriously believed that her boyfriend was the devil... then McInnis lost me. I would try out another book of hers though, because it was well written. I just personally did not enjoy the story.
