Summary: I really enjoyed this book!
Review: One complaint: the characters' frequent consumption of Mexican food had me craving chips and salsa, which my thighs and I are trying to avoid. Other than that, this was an entertaining read with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, but with enough gravity to keep it from being "fluffy." I saw the ending coming from miles away, but that hardly mattered since it was what I was rooting for, anyway!

Summary: Worth every penny
Review: Portland, who writes a book about Portland? I liked that immediately. It is original and smart. This book was a light fun read, and the people writing the bad reviews need to focus more on themselves. So what there were some errors? in one of the reviews that was complaining the most about this. I found several typos in the review! Lisa, ignore these people. Your book wasn't the most well written book I ever read, but it certainly wasn't as bad as these reviews say it was.
It has been about a years since I read it, sorry to just be reviewing, but I did really like it.
Good job

Summary: Don't Judge a Book By its Title
Review: The title is the reason I bought this book. I expected it to be much more entertaining than it actually was. I was quite disappointed. Although there were a couple of times it did make me laugh out loud, it ended up being quite predictable. Also, I was very disappointed in the ending.

Summary: A satisfying, rewarding read for single ladies
Review: This book is wonderfully true to life. LOVE the descriptions of Hannah's pathetic potential partners, from the gay guy trying to go the hetero route, to the gorgeous policeman with attention deficit disorder, to the handsome and wealthy computer engineer who sports an earring and a frosted-gold pedicure and eats bread that looks like bird food. Every woman who's been on a blind date will identify with Hannah and Feel Her Pain. And I thought the ending was satisfying and empowering. Recommended reading for unpartnered ladies everywhere!

Summary: Dating Without Novocaine
Review: This is a very good, easy reading book. I would recommend it for someone who just needs a quick fun book to get through a dull weekend. The ending is kinda given away in the middle. At the minimum a person could guess who the main character ends up with.

Summary: Not Quite Bridget Jones
Review: This was a great first effort by Lisa Coch. It's a very quick read...I finished it in a flight from New Orleans to North Carolina. It's very hip and of-the moment, with mentionings of things like "Meet the Parents", belly dancing, and internet dating. It was laugh out loud funny at times, but totally predictable in the end. If you aren't yet tired of the singleton paperbacks made popular by Helen Fielding's "Bridget Jones's Diary", then I would recommend that you pick this up when you have an afternoon to spare. You won't be disappointed. However, if you are tired of this genre...stay away. This one has nothing new to offer.

Summary: yuck!
Review: This was one of the worst books I've ever read. The author lucked into a cute title and an interesting cover design, which is probably what helped the book sell at all. But the characters are boring, the story is weak, and it's pretty obvious that no one associated with the book has ever visited Portland. When I picked it up, the first thing I noticed was how large the type was -- apparently they didn't have enough story to fill all the pages in a normal font size? Then I started reading and was completely turned off by the sleazy main character. I can't remember any of her boring friends in detail, but it was so obvious that she was going to end up with the dentist, I can't believe I even bothered to finish the book. But, since it really was only about half a book to start with, it didn't take very long to finish. My recommendation -- don't bother!
