Summary: Couldn't Put It Down!
Review: I read the entire book in one night! Being 25 I could really identify with what Kayla was going through. I liked the fact that the people in the book were so realistic. I found myself so caught up in the book that I was rooting for Kayla like she was my best friend.

It was good reading about someone around my own age who wasn't strung out on dope, running dope, or selling booty. Kayla's just a regular young woman out here looking for love. And the situations she gets herself into while she's looking are just too funny. And the drama she goes through is just too real. And listen, what she finally does to Wil at the end, let me tell you, I would do it too.

I'm telling, you I'm really feeling this book! I hope the author's next book is about the same subject, because she really knows how to tell it.

Summary: You Go Girl!
Review: I recently finished this book. I found it to be very entertaining. I think that whether you are 20something or older, you can relate. This book shows what young women today are going through. One of the things I liked best about the book was Kayla's strong message of higher education. Quite a few of the characters where college students. However, it also showed how easy it is to be seduced not by just sweet words, but the almighty dollar. Putting up with the bull for the money, in the end, cost you more than you originally anticipated. But for most of us, we've all been there, done that. In the end, this book showed that it doesn't matter whether you are 20, 30, 40 or older, we all want that one special someone to get us through the night and beyond. Women need to read this book to see what NOT to put up with and men need to read it to see how selfish they can be. I think for this being this young lady's first effort, it showed tremendous promise. Like EJD may have welll been the voice of the late 90's, Daaimah S. Poole may well be the new voice of this century! YOU GO GIRL!!!

Summary: I Loved YO YO LOVE.
Review: YoYo Love is advertised as a book for the younger generation, but I enjoyed it very much and I am a long way from young. I was hooked the first time I heard the author read an excerpt from her book. I laughed out loud, a lot, and when an author can make me do that, I am theirs forever. Miss Poole, I am eagerly awaiting your next book.

Summary: A SIZZLING DRAMA!
Review: Yo Yo Love is a wonderfully written drama about a young woman, Kayla Simone Johnson, who has her life in order until she crosses paths with a tall, dark, handsome and athletic brother who throws the proverbial monkey-wrench into the great female machine. Kayla's experiences with men and the ultimate goal of finding "LOVE" with the right one are reflective of many of today's young women. She endures one crushing blow after another while continuing to strive toward her academic goals and maintaining her emotional balance and clutching leftover semblances of pride. The story is frighteningly frank, yet not offensive or boring. Yo Yo Love is written with all of today's colorful hip hop lingo and I was not left in the dust once, which is refreshing for the mature reader. Daaimah S. Poole is a young writer with success elaborately stenciled all over her. This is a must read for those who know and those who would like to know what's really happening with the young women of today. Congrats on your first offering, little sister!

Summary: Not Just for young adults
Review: This story started out in a manner that had me wondering if my story had been stolen without my knowledge. This novel not only keeps you reading non stop it also keeps you wondering. Just when you think that you know what is going to happen next to Kayla Simone Jackson the opposite occurs. It is a story that everyone can relate to at some point in their lives. It's not just for women men will enjoy it also. It's been a while since I have gone through numerous emotions in one novel. It is a quick read and you really think that you know the characters.

Summary: What Goes Up...
Review: I seriously DID NOT think I would enjoy this book. I thought it would be your typical AA novel filled with deceit, drama, cheating men -- and some more drama. "Yo Yo Love" was way more than that. I laughed till I cried.
Kayla S. Johnson is a 20 year old college student at Temple University in Pennsylvania. She is doing her thing for a women her age. She is independent and goes for what she wants. She dates a stream of different guys and they all turn out to be LOSERS with capital L -- That is until she meets Wil. Not only does he have a job and is also doing his thing. He's older -- He seems to definatly have it going on, so Kayla thinks. Wil has a few secrets, and they are NOT pretty... But you'll have to read to find out.
This was definatly a good one. two thumbs up for Daaimah S. Poole. I would definatly recommend it to those who love a little dramady in their novels. ;)
