Summary: More Doom on Dickie!
Review: I confess! Richard Marcinko's semi-autobiographical Rogue Warrior
series is one of my peculiar pleasures. "Red Cell" is still, far and
away, my favoite. But "Echo Platoon" is a treat with a new twist.
...It seems the old Rogue Warrior is starting to feel his age these
days. Even though he spends every free moment at Rogue Manor pumping
massive amounts of iron and honing his fighting and sharpshooting
skills, by his own admission he's having difficulty keeping up with
his young hunters. Sometimes enough to FUBAR the missions he leads.
And he's mellowing in other ways too, such as permitting a female
Marine to accompany the team this time out. But he can still kick that tango butt!
You might have caught the author on TV recently, describing SEAL
tactics in Afghanistan. Anyone else notice his splendid physical
condition? You have little trouble believing him quite capable of his
fictionalized exploits. You know he's intimately familiar with all
the weapons and gear he namedrops throughout his narrative. Despite
his ongoing love-hate relationship with the Navy, you can't help
admiring the Rogue for his swaggering patriotism, his fatherly
affection toward his young shooters, and his bantering, even bullying,
camaraderie with his readers. And then there's his trademark "Ten
Commandments of SPECWAR", which can be equally effective in whatever
non-lethal endeavor you might undertake, be it business to
bodybuilding. Credit also goes to John Weisman, Marcinko's co-author,
for the fast-reading, non-stop excitement and often laugh-out-loud
humor of this series. Sure, Dickie's getting greyer, but don't count
him out of the action yet! You know the old Rogue's got a few more
adventures to come!

Summary: Rogue Warrior: Echo Platoon
Review: I enjoyed every page. The nonstop action, the fine line between truth and fiction, and colorful wording makes you feel like you are really there. It's an excellent wake up call to some of the things that are really going on.--kim

Summary: ROGUE WARRIOR WHAT HAPPENED?
Review: I have read all of the Rogue Warrior series but this book was the worst of the lot, I simply did not enjoy it nearly as much as the previous books. The plot takes bits from Designation Gold, Green Team and Option Delta and it just isn't as well written as the two best Rogue Warrior Novels, Red Cell and Task Force Blue. I just hope that the next book is back on track!!

Summary: echo that no one can hear
Review: I liked it but it fell flat at the end.The first in the series were great but these last two tanked, sorry but thats what I think.Maybe more stories of when he was starting in the teams would work better, then come back to the series.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: pretty good but its about time to end the series
Review: I'm not sure who really does most of the work in writing this series, Marcinko or John Wiseman, but it's about like the others good but not great. If you can stand Marcinko's f--- this and f--- that dialog I think the story has a lot to it. I've noticed in the last book or two that the sories are beginning to wear down and in this book Marcinko himself mentions getting old to do these missions so maybe its time for him to retire.

Summary: Time to Retire
Review: It might be time for the old Rogue to retire. This book was more like Rambo joins the Three Stooges. Between forgetting, or losing valuable equiptment, and tripping and stumbling through the story, he has become almost laughable. At one point, he is shot at by a 7.62 round shot from an AK74. Ak74's shoot 5.56 rounds. The drunkin Rogue act at the party is way over the top also. It makes you wonder if Cmdr. Marcinko reads these books before they are released.

Summary: Marcinko Fan
Review: No hold Barred. I'm a BIG Marcinko fan. So you know where I'm coming from. Marcinko is the real thing. He's not making this stuff up as he goes along. BTDT is the code of the Rogue Warrior. Action fans will love this one as all the others. Sure they're all the same, but WHO cares!? We read Marcinko because we know what to expect. Blood & Guts action. Tell it like it is politics and tongue & cheek narrative. If you want the technicalities of Plot, read Clancy. If you crave prose, stick to your romance. But if you love a good fight Marcinko is your man! He doesn't pull any punches. He's rude crude and meaner than a Cobra and he makes absolutely certain you get your money's worth out of every read. I hope he keeps them coming for the fans. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: another masterpiece
Review: Richard Marcinko writes with authority and knowledge and this book is no exception, he is a master of the NAVY SEAL world and I would recommend this book to anyone who has read his books before or wants to know what a real navy seal is like

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: No frills Action.
Review: Simply put: If you are sick of hollywood's predictable, ridiculous, superhero action and you want the The Real Deal - Then Buy This Book.

I also highly reccomend reading "Leadership Secrets of the Rogue Warrior : A Commando's Guide to Success."
