Summary: More of the same...
Review: First, I would like to start off by stating that I am a huge fan of Mr. Deaver's and have enjoyed all of his previous work. However, I did not feel "The Devil's Teardrop" was as strong of a novel as "A Maiden's Grave" or "The Bone Collector."Aside from the typical Deaver Twist ending, the pace of the plot moves along nicely and the characters are easy to believe. The situations, however, are sometimes a little too far-fetched. Otherwise, a completely enjoyable read (although, I might not recommend this book for first-time Jeffrey Deaver readers).

Review: I found this book a little short on action. The characterization was fair. The plot was the saving grace, but all in all, I was a bit disappointed in it. Police procedurals can drag on, and that's exactly what this book did.

Review: Fixing to start the Devils Teardrop, I was never a big reader , but since I read the Bone Collector,I have been hooked on Jeffery Deavers,he is one of the most unique and suspenful authors I have read.I wish he would re-print his other books, cause they are hard to find,and would like to read them all, 3 is all i have read so far, and loved everyone of them.A new Jeffery Deavers fan.... Summary: Cheese, but good cheese
Review: I really enjoyed this book, but several things about it bugged me. First of all, I think I'm getting tired of Deaver's writing style. The problem is that because it's a Deaver book, I knew well ahead of time that there would be a twist at the end. I didn't know exactly what it would be, but I knew it was coming. So when it did, I wasn't all that surprised; instead, I just thought, Yep, there he goes again. Secondly, I'm well aware that to read a story like this one must suspend disbelief, but the stuff that happens in this one is really very ridiculous. I won't go into any of that for the sake of anyone who hasn't read it yet, but quite a few scenes had me rolling my eyes. I find it really odd that what starts out as an intelligent, very well researched novel descends into a sort of comedy of errors where every scene plays out in the least believable way. But despite all my whining here, I enjoyed the book for what it was: a thriller that's meant to keep you guessing until the end, more fantasy than reality. It's not as good as A Maiden's Grave, but it's a good time-killer.

Summary: Best action/adventure book of the year!
Review: I think reviewing a novel is best achieved by comparing it to others that most of us have read, so prospective readers have something to measure it against. So I would say that The Devil's Teardrop could be best described as a spellbinding novel of intrigue, it has the relentless pace and stunning power of The Triumph and the Glory, the plot twists of Grisham at his best, the vivid imagery of Cold Mountain, and the style and flavor of Tom Clancy's Executive Orders.

Summary: Absolute Original
Review: This book was phenonmenal! The plot was completely original: using an extortion letter to figure out the criminal's next target and steps for capture on New Year's Eve. The author researched the information very very thoroughly. I had no idea so much detail was entailed in document forensics! From the writing of the words, to conjuctions and sentence structures. It was about thrill to read this book! Each page revealed and new twist. The ending seemed a bit cliche, but Mr. Deavers provided an original twist. This is a must read. Great GREAT JOB!

Review: I had never read this author until I bought this book. It is one great read! Good plot - excellent characters - the story twists and turns until you finally finish the book and wish there was more.

Review: This was my first Jeffery Deaver book and I loved it. I loved the twist at the end too. It kept you guessing till the very end. Some of it was a little far fetched, but sometimes we need that.
