Summary: A superbly written debut novel
Review: The Heretic is a superbly written debut novel of political intrigue by Lewis Weinstein that adds a definitively human touch to the terrible ills of history and religious persecution. Depicting a family of Jews living in Seville on the eve of the Spanish Inquisition of the 15th century, The Heretic is a thoughtful and thought-provoking historical story of the abuse of power and tests of faith that were anything but. The Heretic clear documents Lewis Weinstein as a master storyteller and will leave the reader looking eagerly toward his next literary effort.

Summary: 15th century Spain comes alive!
Review: The Heretic is well written, entertaining and historically reminds us of a dark period in the history of Spain. The characters were real to me and I found that I was compelled to keep reading and finished the 370 pages in about 2 and a half days. I thoroughly enjoyed it and wished the story could have continued.

Summary: A great Novel
Review: This is an excellent book. It is captivating from beginning to end, I couldn't put it down. Being a Christian this book really stirred me up but I feel that it will generate more questions than answers. It's a must read for Christians and Jews who don't fear a dialog centered at the very roots of pain.

Summary: Couldn't wait to turn the page
Review: This phenomenal book caused me to stay up until the wee hours of the morning because I just couldn't stop reading! The emotional stories of the family members fused with the historical happenings of the time made it fascinating reading. Can't wait for the sequel to find out what happens with the next generation!
