Summary: Beginning a new series
Review: Much as I like the Alex Cross series of books, the last one left me wondering if Mr. Patterson was getting tired of it. Perhaps he justs needed to "recharge his batteries" with something different, and he certainly came off with a good book in his new series about the Women's Murder Club. It's a riveting story from beginning to end, with believeable and likeable characters, and the usual totally evil murderer. I read it quite quickly, and enjoyed it thoroughly. One thing, though, he seems lately to want to put some shocking-type ending in every book. It's not necessary for the overall enjoyment of the work, but if he wants to do it, and it doesn't detract from the story, who am I to argue? He's the writer, and a very good one. I look forward to further books in this new series.

Summary: A great new series from a master!!
Review: I loved this book! I read it over a weekend and had to force myself to put it down to do my "domestic" stuff! One thing I love about James Patterson is his short chapters. Also, I have always loved the Alex Cross series, but was anxious to read this book that introduced us to four new characters that form the Women's Murder Club. I love a book that has alot of twists and turns, and this one is no exception. I was convinced it was #$%^ when it really was !@#$, but then it turned out to be $%^&. WOW!! I'm ready for the second meeting of the Women's Murder Club!!

Summary: A book I certainly intend reading
Review: My mother read this and now keeps on looking at me in a funny way. It left me thinking of the fate of Anthony Last at the end of A Handful of Dust.

Summary: A non-stop, highly recommended, page-turner of a thriller
Review: 1st To Die is a non-stop, highly recommended, page-turner of a thriller featuring a cold killer seeking to commit the unthinkable, and the four courageous women (a police detective, a medical examiner, a reporter, an assistant district attorney) pooling their talents and resources to bring him to justice. James Patterson is a gifted storyteller who engages his reader from page one and won't let go until the final line of the last paragraph.

Summary: A Phenomenal Read from James Patterson
Review: I've been a fan of James Patterson's books in the past but now I'm an AVID fan. This book gives us wonderfully strong female heroines. Lindsay Boxer in her valiant fight for self and her unstoppable pursuit of a monster is someone we all want to be. Lindsay and her three sidekicks--best friend, Claire, and new good friends Cindy and Jill, form the Women's Murder Club and what is hoped will be the first of many adventures for these admirable leading ladies. The twists and turns of this Patterson thriller make it impossible to put this book down. Get prepared to send out for pizza and tuck in with this page-turner all the way through to the surprise ending!

Summary: Riviting...that's an understatement!
Review: James Patterson just hit a bullseye! Not since "Kiss the Girls" has he written such a page turning thriller. The all women team is a refreshing change from Alex Cross. He has the right blend of hard hitting intrigue and compassionate story lines. There is not as much graphic violence as in "Kiss"...however it is pure evil.

This is the James Patterson work to crave!

Summary: A Poor Attempt
Review: Patterson has not lived up to his typical high quality thriller. First of all, I find it odd that Patterson has attempted to write in the first person narritive of a woman. The gender-cross never seems to work out right. Then, this book has taken a decidedly different attitude to his other books, being that it is a light mystery that I would never have thought would be something he would write. Another complaint that I have is the way that the prologue and epilogue did not really fit with the rest of the book. After this I will be thinking twice about buying any more books from this new series that is being created.

Summary: more twists than a san francisco street
Review: James Patterson is at his best in 1st. To Die. His characters are rich and deep and evil. Patterson makes you care about his Detectives as they play out the life and death they face in a race against time. Just when I thought I had it figured out -WRONG AGAIN AND AGAIN. Love the book, read it in one sitting, finished it crying, stunned again at the end. First to Die has more twists and turns than a San Francisco Street. Holy Rice-aroni..it's damn good.

Summary: First To Die
Review: A terrific read! While partial to his Alex Cross books, I enjoyed this one thoroughly - except for the last few pages. Of course, I was disappointed with the ending of his last book, Roses Are Red, as well. That said, I could not put the book down, until I got to the last 25% - then I wanted to read it as slowly as I could to savor it. It was great to read about strong women (as opposed to woman) and by such an entertaining author. James Patterson knows how to keep your attention and keep the story moving. You can almost see and smell what the heroine sees and smells! Read it - you'll be glad you did.
