Rating: Summary: Queen is the best Review: Carol Queen is absolutely the best. She makes sense out of feelings most people share but are afraid to admit. You should read this little book, especially if you have any shy tendencies. We would all live fuller lives if we could follow half of her truths.

Rating: Summary: Basically about stripping your own inhibitions Review: Carol Queen is now a famous sex educator who describes herself as a recovering shy person. In 13 chapters and 3 appendices she helps us understand what holds us back from exploring and fully enjoying our sexuality and offers exercises we can use to move into a more fulfilling passionate life with ourselves and with others. This book will not teach you how to strip or how to seduce someone until you feel comfortable with yourself first. An excellent book that offered me some advice I have tried to put into practice in my own life. I'm getting a little less shy every day and it feels good.

Rating: Summary: Non-Threatening and Funny Review: I have owned several copies of this book, specifically to GIVE to people who I feel would enjoy it.
No matter how shy or "vanilla" you are, you can certainly spice up your sex life, and probably your self-esteem, by heeding the simple for-beginners suggestions found inside.
Towards the end, the book does delve into some pretty "advanced" topics such as play parties and being a stripper. But there's much to learn here even if you don't want to take it that far. It's not about being all-out kinky and wild and crazy - although if you want to be, this book could be a great start.
But the focus here is really about finding your own personal comfort zones, determining your own fantasies, and feeling sexy YOUR way. No pressure here, just encouragement and support.
Rating: Summary: Don't pass this book up... Review: If you are the least bit shy regarding your sexuality then this is the book for you! I have seen an enormous increase in my own self confidence (so has my husband!) She breaks down barriers in your shyness and gives you options on how to break out of that mold with ideas, strategies, and examples. I like the way she gives you several options of an exercise. There were some I didn't feel comfortable with but she gave variations so that you can work with it. I definately recommend this to anyone who wants to develop sexual self confidence.

Rating: Summary: Go ahead -- read it Review: It's difficult to write a punless review of this surprisingly serious book, which is deep, kind-hearted, and important. Queen's a reverential philosopher of sex, and she knows something about shyness, too. She admits it takes a good therapist to overcome this stuff, but lets us in on what she does know that might help! She never trivializes or minimizes her readers' hangups; she's a teacher of the best sort. Queen is experienced in all areas -- she's done everything -- and knows and respects human sexuality of all stripes. She wants to teach its happiest and best expression to her readers. Along with some comparatively unusual practices are words of amazing wisdom. Good ideas for ways to think about, talk about, and practice masturbation and safe sex with panache. I might not follow her advice word for word (I'm still too shy), but I loved this book.
Rating: Summary: I sure wish Mom had known Carol Queen. Review: This book is such a wise mix of good information, humor, sound and sometimes surprising advice, good slow hand fever, and marvelous appreciation of our humanity and sexual diversity. Hurray for Carol Queen. She makes sex education as warm and open and as much fun as it ought to be.
Rating: Summary: Discover and awaken your inner sexual persona! Review: This instructive, inspiring, and comprehensive sex manual manages to be simultaneously hot, dirty, and nasty -- and politically correct!
