Rating: Summary: Wolf did it again!!! Review: Reading this book as a new aunt and a wannabe mom, I can say that it is incredibly funny, strangely scary at points and also amazingly touching.Although I feel that Diary of a Mad Bride was more of a laugh-out-loud kind of novel, there were still points in this where I was wiping my eyes from tears of laughter. I love Amy's references to her Ob/Gyn as the "Crotch Whisperer" and to her references of pregnancy symptoms like "Dog Nose". But, I also enjoy the fact that this novel has more of an emotional pull on the reader. Moreso, than with the first novel, Wolf brings out the feelings of her main character and, therefore, brings out the feeling of any reader who either is pregnant, was pregnant or longs to be pregnant at some point in life.
Rating: Summary: All women of child-bearing age should read this book Review: So many things in this book were all too true. Wolf puts a humorous spin on the process of going from a happily married childless wife to becoming a mom. Even if you've never been pregnant, you can still appreciate Amy's hilarious ups and downs. Like Mad Bride, this is easy to read and keeps coming back to her infamous to-do lists. I especially like the addition of the "Things No One Ever Tells You" list. So really, it can be thought of as a educational read for those who have never been pregnant themselves.
Rating: Summary: Diary of C. White... Review: This book is an incredibly fast read with some side splitting humor all the way through. Once you pick this book up there is no putting it down. It's light and a real quick read. I like how the author tells it like it is, makes the reader feel as if they are not the only ones going through these situations. It's sweet, touching and most of all hysterical!!! This book makes a great gift for a baby shower! I loved it!
Rating: Summary: Great Follow-up!!! Review: This book was just as good as Diary of a Mad Bride! Amy Thomas Stewart is a riot!! During the first book we got to follow Amy going crazy and stressing throughout her wedding...this time we follow her into the joys (and pitfalls) of being pregnant.
Deciding almost overnight that she wants to have a baby after swearing she wasn't ready, Amy and Stephen get pregnant, and she buys another trusty manual (remember Beautiful Bride?) to guide her along the way. But more often than not, Baby How, Baby Now, her how-to guide, ends up causing her and Stephen more stress than anything else. Dealing with a new job, a wierdo who's only attracted to pregnant woman, an annoying doctor (the Crotch Whisperer!!), herds of strangers rubbing her belly, and the ever popular To-Do-List, Amy nearly drives herself and her husband nuts, while sending the reader into fits of laughter.
I definitely recommend this book just as I did the first one. For anyone whose had a child, they'll know exactly what Amy's going through...as for the rest of us, we know what to look forward to (ugh!!). I can only hope Ms. Wolf gives us more adventures of Amy, Stephen, and now baby Stewart!!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Hysterical!! Review: This book was laugh out loud funny and it takes alot for me to laugh out loud. Whether you have already had a baby, are pregnant or want to have a baby - I think you will be able to relate and see the humor in your experience. I have recommended it to everyone I know!!
Rating: Summary: Great preggers-chick book Review: this is a quick read and side-splittly funny! Laura Wolf captures all the ups and downs of being pregnant for the first time and having to discover all those little things that nobody tells you about before you get pregnant! if you're pregnant or if you best girlfriend is - get this book!!! It cheered me up and helped me laugh my way thru cravings, mood swings, peeing every 20 minutes, and dealing with the well-meaning family members. Also great - Diary of Mad Bride by Laura Wolf
Rating: Summary: Hilarious! Review: This mom to be tells it like it is. She deals with everything from a coworker infatuated with pregnant women to the creepiest OB/GYN perhaps on the planet. How she survives is beyond me. This book is an incredibly fast read with some side splitting humor all the way through. Once you pick this book up there is no putting it down. She goes through the public "petting" stage and other things no one tells you about pregnancy. This book is great for moms to be or for moms in general. If you have read Diary of a Mad Bride then this is a must read!
