Summary: A Promising Story....But...
Review: A promising story...But

The main character, Venice is a college student in a three way relationship with long time boyfriend Jarvis and college sweetie Craig. Venice has a decision to make. Unfortunately I knew the ending right away.

The story line was promising but D. Lee lost me in the writing. There were quite a few grammatical errors. The dialog between the characters was juvenile, choppy and stilted. There where no real twist and turns, and too many unnecessary details for such a simple plot.

I had to give it three stars instead of one because while the plot was unbelievable, it was still somewhat enjoyable. Come one ladies you know the typical. Two good strong minded women fighting over a no good triflin man. Well why not the other way around for once.

Summary: Flipping the Script
Review: All That and a Bag of Chips opens as Venice Taylor says goodbye to her close-knit family and her high school sweetheart, Jarvis. Jarvis will be leaving as well to attend a different college where he received a football scholarship. In spite of the fact that Jarvis and Venice share a complicated past and still share strong feelings for one another, the two of them have agreed to see other people while away at college. Venice arrives at school, anxiously anticipating her "college experience" and her newly found freedom. Right away she meets Craig, an upperclassman, and there is an immediate attraction.
Venice knows that she still has strong feelings for Jarvis but also wants to explore a potential relationship with Craig. Venice now has both men vying for her affection and undivided attention. Who will she choose? Can she have it both ways? Will she lose either or both men while she is trying to decide?

Darrien Lee has done a great job putting a new spin on the relationship novel. She made you care about the characters even if you didn't like them. Personally, I disliked Venice and felt she was extremely self-centered. I wanted the characters in the story to stop doting on her and for at least one character to share my distaste in her. However, these feelings made the storyline even more powerful and had me turning page after page trying to see how it would end. In addition to the passionate love scenes, and humorous college antics, the author weaves in relevant social issue without seeming preachy. I anxiously look forward to the sequel of this book.

Summary: A reader from Maryland2
Review: Darrien Lee has done an exceptional job capturing my life in this book. The man that was suppose to be my husband phoned me and told me that I needed to read this book and contact Ms. Lee to thank her for the birth of our story. We are awaiting the second birth with the continuation. This book was off the hook and very entertaining for intellectual readers. Ms. Lee, keep up the good work. I hope that you next project receives the notoriety that you deserve. You inspire me to keep hope alive.

Summary: Love can be funny sometimes...
Review: Even in the youthful, exploratory days of college. This was revealed to me in a wonderful way by Darrien Lee in her exceptional debut novel ALL THAT AND A BAG OF CHIPS...From it's inception, this reader was drawn into the drama of Venice Taylor as she shared a UNIQUE relationship with Jarvis. They have experience more stuff BEFORE their separate college departures than some of us do in our entire lives.

Heading to separate campus, their eternal passion is brought under fire when Craig Bennett appears on the scene. Without giving detail, I was immediately drawn to the authenticity of this character and his ability to stay noble through an incredible storm, so much so that there was tear shed as his endlessly giving heart mirrored my own. But is his illuminating presence enough to garner the heart of Venice?

For that answer, you have to read this splendid piece of work. Passion fills this story, as the mature, sometimes wild love scenes make the plot all the more tantalizing. With Galen, Joshua, Chanelle, Monique, Bryan and Sinclair providing strong supporting roles to accompany the triangular lead, the title of this book definately says all. It is truly ALL THAT AND A BAG OF CHIPS!!! A sequel, Darrien. PLEASE!!!

Review: I ACTUALLY LIKED THIS BOOK, IT KEPT ME ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT WANTING TO FIND OUT WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT. (ALOT OF BOOKS DON'T DO THAT FOR ME). EVEN THOUGH IT WAS LONG, IT WAS A GOOD BOOK FOR THE AUTHORS FIRST AND I'M AM WAITING ON THE NEXT SEQUEL "WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND"

Summary: Title speaks for itself...
Review: I can actually say that All That and A Bag of Chips was the first book that made me cry. I will admit that I have gotten teary eyed over other novels, but this book had the tears rolling down my cheeks. If you are a college student who's struggling with school, relationships, and family, you will definetly relate to this story.

I just finished reading this book a few days ago. This novel is something that you won't be able to put down. It's one of those,"I have to know what's going to happen next" type of novels.

The novel is about a woman name Venice who is just starting a different college away from her long time love Jarvis, . The two have a painful past that will bond them for life. But in the mix comes Craig. Venice quickly falls in love with him. The problem comes in when Venice realizes that she's in love with two men, and one of them wants her to choose. It takes the entire novel for her to decide. By then, you will have already picked the person you want Venice to stay with. But in the end you'll see who she chooses.

The storyline is great. The author, Darrien Lee, stepped out to put herself at the top with this one. The only thing I didn't like about this book were the intimate scenes. There wasn't enough variety. That and (this is a funny one) but the characters were getting showers all the time :)

But seriously, this was a great novel. I can't wait to go buy the next book. You will enjoy it from beginning to end.

Summary: Interesting!
Review: I enjoyed this book! I would recommend this book to anyone looking for an interesting read. It's not your typical novel and I think that's what makes it good. You think you know what's going to happen next but somehow Mrs. Lee, turns you another way. It's fiction so some things are thrown in there that may not happen in REAL life! But then again....you never know, just because YOU won't do it, doesn't mean that someone else won't. If your looking for a story that flips things a little, with a lot of detail, lots of emotions, then pick this one up!
