Summary: My favorite book
Review: This story is a mystery and love story, so I like this story very much. The main characters are Eric(phantom), Raoul and Christine. In the beginning two people were killed by the phantom, because they talked about him or didn't listen to advice. Christine was a good singer. Raoul fell in love with her. But Erick loved her, too. Eric proposed to her. She said, "Yes. I love you, Erick " and kissed to him. He was very glad and said, "You are free." At last, Erick disappeared, and nobody knew where Christine and Raoul were. Erick's face is very ugly. So, everyone doesn't love him. He is a very poor person. I think mystery and opera fans would like this story.

Summary: Just Review
Review: The phantom of the opera is a famous story. The story talks about a phantom-ugly, ill person. The phantom was a clever person. He built a theater. So he knew many secrets about the building. He helped a girl to be a great singer. He wanted her to be his wife in this book, but the girl declined him. He was sad and angry. He made many accidents and tried to kill people to get the girl’s love. He was a rich man, but he was poor in love. He yearned for love very much. He hoped many people would respect him because he was born in an unhappy family. But he went about it the wrong way. People didn’t respect him; they even hated him.

This story has many different editions. Each edition has a different end of the story. And the phantom in each edition has different personalities. I saw a movie about this story a lot of years ago. The songs of the movie were very pleasant.

I like this story, but it doesn’t talk about many details in this book. This book was written for the people who have low English degrees. It is easy to read. Perhaps some people don’t like the phantom in this book. Actuality, the phantom of some editions is a kind person. He has a romantic love story with the girl. So that is a big difference of different editions. And that is a lot of fun in this book.

Summary: I impressed by "The phantom of opera"
Review: I like to read books. One day I found a book, which seems to be amusing story. Its cover was very interesting for me. I had lots of doubts about that book. After seeing a white mask, I decided to buy the phantom of opera.

I began to read the book, which I bought. My feeling about the book was very joyful and excited I felt interesting. “Who is the ghost? Why did he kill?” The Phantom was a very genius and good singer. However, he didn’t appear in front of many people because his face was very ugly. So he choose a Kristen who has a beautiful voice. The Phantom also loved her.

I thought of their love seriously. Raoul and Kristen fallen in love with each other. I realized what love is. On the other hand, I knew he was in pain. Phantom wanted to steadfast love with her, but it was his opinion.

I sometimes felt horror and suspense with fear, but it wasn’t problem. It gave me the joy about the whole story.

My favorite part was last section. It touched heartstrings. The story gave me interest and tension.

After I read the book, my heart was moved deeply.
If you want to feel about love, you have to read this book. You will learn true love.

Summary: Truely Amazing
Review: This is one of the greatest books of all time. Erik is a tragic character that deserves pity and compasion but t the same time he deserves to her despised and hated for the things he's done. The novel (unlike movie and musical versions) really gets you into the head of Erik and explais why he does the things he does. It also shows how utterly brilliant he is (something that's only hinted at in adaptations) His love for Christine is his driving force in life and the thought of losing her to Raoul drives him to murderous extremes. He's no monster though, just a man that has been battered and shunned by the world so much, that he's snapped. If you think you're a fan of the Phantom just becuse you like the musical versio (either of the 3 or 4) read the book and see how the story truely is

Summary: Illusion Becomes Reality
Review: And reality becomes illusion in The Phantom of the Opera. The fine line between that which is real and that which is imagined becomes inexorably blurred in this gripping one of a kind thriller. As I followed the tale of the mysterious Opera Ghost(as he's referred to), the lovestruck Raoul le Vicomte de Chagny, Count Philippe, The Persian, Carlotta, and the beautiful chanteuse Christine DaaƩ I found myself eneveloped into this marvelous tale and unsure of exactly what was real and what was merely an illusion.

With the bizarre and inexplicable untimely deaths, premature resignation of its managers, the cavernous cellar and deadly lake, the infamous Box 5, the innumerable trap doors, unusual "accidents" and strange goings-on, the Paris Opera House manifests itself into a most paradoxical setting where the line between reality and illusion is inexplicably altered. Considering these events supposedly occurred around 1881 in Paris, it made this suspenseful tale all the more enjoyable. I could not put the book down and liken it to the genre of Edgar Allen Poe. Once you open The Phantom of the Opera, prepare to enter into the Paris Opera House and into a sublime world unlike any other.

Summary: A tragic, horrifying, love story
Review: The first time the words "The Phantom of the Opera" meant anything to me was when I was seven years old. My dad discovered the fabulously composed Andrew Lloyd Webber musical version. Well to my young ears the music was unbearable. The pounding, clashing cords scared me half to death and I was constantly begging him to turn it off. Seven years later, I was fourteen and in a selective singing group at my school in which we were doing a medley of "Phantom" songs for a Spring Concert. To make a long story short, I soon learned that at seven I had no musical taste and had been horribly wrong about "Phantom".

That same school year I chose to read the original novel for a school assignment. Already captivated by the gripping love triangle between Raoul, Christine and "The Phantom" (as he is called in the musical version), I fell madly in love with the whole entire story after finishing the book in only a week.

I truly believe that in this amazing work of literature Leroux created some of the most memorable characters in the history of story telling. His ability to make any reader sympathetic towards a disfigured, criminally insane genius is a task even some of the best writers couldn't hope to recreate.

"Phantom" takes the words "Illusion" and "Reality" and throws them out the window. Blending both what is for certain and what is not into a haunting dreamland, where an unfortunate soul who has never known compassion does not have to see the truth and can pretend that the world is a more forgiving place.

Running themes in Phantom include love, empathy, and the shallowness a vast number of us fail to realize we're guilty of. The best parts of the book (in my opinion) are when Raoul asks Christine is she would love Erik if he weren't so unbearably unattractive. And when Erik sorrowfully confesses that not even his own mother knew how to love him.

"Phantom" challenges readers to care about the feelings of an inwardly and outwardly distorted maniac who's gone crazy in his solitude and only wants to be loved. It's a fabulous expose of the human nature of the most unfortunate type of person and the insufferable way he is doomed to be treated by the rest of the world.

Summary: Evocotive and heartbreaking!
Review: It's easy to fall in love with "Phantom" once you hear the music, beautifully composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber for the Broadway version. But to really understand what a tragic and unforgettable story it really is, I think it's necessary to read the book. A slightly different, undeniably richer and ultimately more touching version of "Broadway's most haunting love story!"

Summary: SURREAL AND EYE-OPENING
Review: The tragic story written by gaston leroux, relieves on Broadway but it also does on the pages of this surreal and eye-opening book. I read this book when I was in seveth grade and it amazed me and I saw the musical on broadway afterwards I don't lknwo how to describe it but the feeling or should I say feelings you feel after reading this book will shock you. Set in the Paris opera house a phantom terrorizes the place but what makes this story so great is that it is real and it stands on its own two feet. It shows feelings and emotions to their greatest level an ugly and unloved creature falls in love with an opera singer and does everyting to make her a star in the name of love and he becomes her teacher not also is the phantom a great teacher but also a great musician. The phantom has been there for a while aqnd new owners come in the scene and all and they have been warned about the phantom and that he requires certain things but they don't care about it and that's here the trouble starts.. The phantom only wans a small amount of moneya nd his box#5 but the new owners don't give it to him well they will see later. Then his love Christine falls in love with the count Raoul and the phantom gets striked by jealousy and he starts to kill and he brings christine to his undeground house by the lake and he wants her to marry him she pulls of his mask in one part of the book and he gets furious but anyway he tells her he has to marry he ropr her love will die in the end she kisses him and he lets her go, because she was the only one who shows him some affection not even his mother has even kissed him. The tale is horryfying in its truth and it would be lossing a great experience if this book is not read I also recommend watching the broadway musical after reading this book you will truly appreciate it but find out for yourself and next time you'll be bragging about reading this great and amazing book.

Summary: Creative, but there are better books
Review: The basic story is that a deformed man is in love with a beautiful opera star. She is in love with a handsome young lord which the phantom would really not mind disposing of. Add in a few murders and a mysterious stranger and you got yourself Phantom of the Opera.

I enjoyed Phantom very much. It kept me guessing, which is something pretty hard to do with all the books I've read. It had a most creative plot and I would recommend it to lovers of classic gothic fiction. However, I give it three stars because there are much better books out there. I would suggest Dracula, Frankenstein, or (my favorite) The Picture of Dorian Gray instead.

Summary: The Phantom of the Opera
Review: It was a very good book! I loved it! I thought the book was well explained and very vivid. It was a little scary for younger readers, but I think it was very well written. I would definatly read it again. This book belongs on the lists of classics, it is much better then any of them and I am suprised the book was not very popular.
