Rating: Summary: The most poignant and emotional story of all time! Review: Many read stories which bring them alongside of the characters, but few can remain in the hearts and souls of millions as beautifully as this wonderful piece of work has. A compelling story about an aging composer cursed with leprosy whom has been hunted out and shunned his entire life, Erik Noir waited from the shadows, hoping that his beloved would offer him the most impudent sign of hope that he could be loved for himself. If you love romances, I highly recommend this book. Also, if you want to learn what happens during the last two weeks of Erik's life, I suggest reading Brigitta D'Arcy's Le Fantome, which is on sale at amazon.uk.com. The only bad thing about it is her claiming to have found the ring with C.D. inscribed on it; Since the character Christine Daae is based on the soprano, Kristina Niellson- but still good reading!
Rating: Summary: A great, fast-paced book Review: Although this book is over 300 pages, it gets to the point quickly and is all-and-all an enjoyable book. It took me five weeks to read it, but I didn't read very many pages a day, so it should actually take a very short time to read it. The chapters are also suitable in length, the longest one being thirty pages. This book is about an "Opera ghost," Erik, who is a deformed man who wears a mask all the time. The master of trapdoors, as he is called, wants just one thing: Christine Daae, an Opera Singer, and he will go to any lengths to carry out his dream, including stealing money and even killing people. Meanwhile, Raoul de Chagny, whom Christine is in love with, fights to get Christine back from the phantom. I think you will find this book quite interesting, intriguing, even a little scary.
Rating: Summary: A Chiller Review: This is a very thrilling book to read! The author wonderfully portrayed the struggle between good and bad. I urge everyone to read this wonderful book!

Rating: Summary: The most fantastic book ever written! Review: This book was by far the best I've ever read. I am going to see it for my birthday and after reading the book, I want to see it even more. They way it is written draws you in, and even though it is not real, you would almost expect it to be. Very rarely does a book touch me and make me feel for a character, but when Erik leaves Christine to go with Raoul, and then we find out about his broken heart and the effects of it, I felt as though I were there and really knew him. That is just one of the many things that make this such a fantastic story of love, pain, deception and lies. If you are looking for a horror/drama to read, this is it. I recomend this to anyone who likes classic literature, and even then I'd recomend it to anyone who likes to read at all.
Rating: Summary: Like the Music? Check Out the Book that Inspired It. Review: After seeing the musical in London, spectacular, I wanted to know more. Having the backstory to it all was great. The novel has a very unique, journalistic style. Leroux does an excellent job of developing the characters and story. The only complaint, both on my part and others, would be the somewhat muttled, but very forgiveable, dropoff form the climax. A captivating story.

Rating: Summary: Pain, true love, and forgivness Review: That's the summary of this book right there. I just watched the silent movie of The Phantom of the Opera, and I am so glad that I read the book first. The Phantom is portrayed as cruel in all of the Hollywood movies, yet if you read this book, Erik is much more than that. You see the obsession he had for Christine turn into true love as he lets her go out of his life just top make her happy. You'll heart will tear in two when you read this book of mystery and romance. And for more insite into Erik's soul and life read Phantom by Susan Kay.
Rating: Summary: A Classic Romance/Suspense Novel in One! Review: The way the author described the depthness of each character was splendid! Erik would have been someone you would respect & look up to with his immense talents; instead he is cursed by people because of his ugliness. It's a natural reaction of people to anyone who does not measure to society's standards/norms. It is because of this very society that pushed Erik to be a hideous monster, secretly living & plotting his crimes beneath the Opera. It only took one person (Christine Daae) to reveal his soft & good-natured side by showing a little compassion & understanding. It showed that noone is truly abominable & evil --- & everyone always has a soft spot in his heart.
